Convenient camping, lots to like!
Thank you Lillie and Seb for hosting us on your land! For anyone wanting to know some details, it was a lovely spot to pitch our 4m tent and tarp - side by side, plenty of cleared space with mown grass. Site had a beautiful outlook, across rolling paddocks filled with large gumtrees. On dusk and dawn kangaroos in the distance can easily be seen and sulphur-crested cockatoos flock in nearby trees to do their usual “carry-on” for about 5 mins each time, which is always amusing to hear. Throughout the day, there were so many butterflies, we lost count and it was really peaceful watching them.
Access to the site for our city-slicker, low-profile tyre, VW Golf was no problem. If staying after really wet weather, meaning soggy paddocks, we would use the space at the top near the paddock gate to park the car. From there it is a super easy, short walk down to the pitching site/s.
On arrival we were greeted by Seb who welcomed us with a smile, he showed us the camping space and the areas where we might choose to pitch our tent. Other than that, we were left alone in privacy. The allocated area is past the main house, which is surrounded by its own gardens and hardly visible from camp. All general supplies can be found in Bundanoon, which is a very nice little town. Things to take note of: it is a sunny spot, so bring some extra shade in hot weather and heavy dew of a morning, so bring an extra towel or two to dry bits off, before reloading into car. We would definitely stay again!
