Hike in nature’s beauty, go swim in our pool, go to the attractions at the Wisconsin Dells, or go boat and fish at one of the nearby lakes, then come back and spend a relaxing evening around a campfire. Each cabin has their own fire ring, charcoal grill, stove and refrigerator in the kitchen. We are still repairing the grounds to make your camping experience even better. Charming cabins with a pool! You'll enjoy all the pines surrounding the area. So id highly recommend a walk. Its a great place for a break from driving or maybe weekend getaway.
Upon arriving at the campground and finding our cabin it became clear that due to my handicap, I was unable to step up high enough to get in or use my walker. This is in NO WAY the fault of Carl. He made a phone call and sent out someone to help us. After looking around and explaining my physical disability, Carl called my husband and at the last minute issued us a full refund. He is the best!! Once all the renovations are completed, we will be back and hopefully I can find a cabin more handicap friendly. This place is quiet and secluded and Carl is the best!! Thank you so much!
Overall we had a great experience on our trip to Wisconsin, I can't really complain. There were a few things about the site that we didn't expect and weren't ideal, so I am just trying to be honest in my review. Carl or Mike or whomever i was communication with was great, very responsive and gave clear directions. However, the person who was supposed to be on site as the host (Dennis I believe) wasn't there until the morning of our last day when we were getting ready to leave and therefore wasn't all that helpful, he (or some guy) arrived the morning of the 2nd cleaned out the pool then he left. As far as the cabin is concerned, the cabin is actually a trailer, the place was clean and well kept, the beds were comfy and as promised, there is running water, electricity and hot water to shower. However you do have to bring your own toilet paper, which is not a big deal, we just weren't aware. Now unfortunately, the trailer did not have a working stove and did not have a functioning lock on the door and one of the windows in the room didn't close fully. So if I am being completely honest, if my brother and father were not with me I would not have stayed one night because I did not feel safe with a non-locking sliding door. The site itself was definitely surrounded by towering pines, the area we were by had no trespassing signs posted so I am assuming there were trail heads or something someplace else on the property into these "25 acres" but we did not have time to explore and didn't see anything clearly marked. We are right up next to a mildly busy road so there were car sounds breaking into the nature sounds at night pretty often. There were these like shacks which I am assuming are remnants of the old camp that used to be on the property, they are on the other side of the pool and look like an abandoned/unwelcoming area.
However, aside for these few unexpected things we had a good time in the Dells, it is just as far from the Dells as promised, and nice and close to 2 lovely lakes. The site was clean and well kept, there are a few of the trailers that look more like cabins, the hosts overall did not disappoint and we had a good family vacation. I just felt the need to point out these specific things for other people staying there in the future so you don't have any surprises and potentially being to light issues the hosts were not aware of. Thanks again for letting us stay on your property we appreciate it!
