This spring there is a bald eagle who fishes in front of the cabin most days. We are Brad and Christine and we live further up the driveway in our solar-powered log cabin. While you may catch glimpses of the red cabin or solar array through the trees, we honor your privacy while being nearby in case you need something. We don't overlook the site directly, and you can't see us beyond the occasional glimpse or on the trails passing closer to the buildings. We drive down the driveway past the site if we are leaving or returning home, which we minimize when we have guests. We are located two miles down a gravel road, 2 miles off Rt. 16, you are 15 minutes from groceries, pharmacies, EV charging, gas, and a local campground who can arrange for you to dump your tanks. We are in East Wolfeboro, a half hour drive to Downtown. Historic Portsmouth, NH and the Maine coast are an hour away.

This is a 200 year old farm filled with life. There are well groomed areas and other more wild areas. We are on almost 13 acres of land that attracts all forms of natural wildlife. We have a farm store offering a variety of items for sale including eggs, honey, rubs and much more. There is a microwave available to the campers in the farm store as well. Toad Hall is a heated, one room, 8x8 cabin in Harrison, Maine, with access to the Bear River for wading and swimming (depending on the river height.) There is a firepit at the cabin, along with one down by the river. Firewood is provided. The lower area by the river is a beautiful place to hang out, pitch hammocks etc... The cabin is near the road, which is great for loading in and loading out, but you will hear/see cars drive by. (Read our reviews, we stand by them!) There is no running water or bathroom on the property so please bring a camping potty and do not bury human waste! The Bear River, which is a beautiful spot to swim and wade in, runs right through the property- but it's also drinking water and a protected watershed. Again, please make sure you have a camping potty plan. Cabin Features: There are 2 cots inside, but also feel free to bring your own pads/bedding. There are solar lights inside, along with a USB plug to charge small devices. It is a clean, warm, dry room, with beautiful light and good ventilation with the windows cracked. Nearby places you will like: We are within walking distance to downtown restaurants and public swimming area on Long Lake. There's also porto potties next to the walkable country store, which has everything you forgot to bring. Also a great ice cream shack, and an above-average watering hole, The Olde Mill Tavern. We are off the beaten path in the forest near the White Mountain National Forest. A 6 to 8 minute hike from your site gets you to a private lake. We have two local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure. There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain right from your site. Toad Hall was great! Amazing place to stay in the fall/winter. Cozy for 2 people with provided cots & camping chairs! The heater and shelter from the rain was great. Hearing the creek water at night was relaxing. Mike was so nice and communicative! Would definitely stay here again!

So much fun over the weekend with beautiful clean grounds and an awesome band and bon fire. Small town but nice wood walks and a farmers market nearby with great veggies jam and bread. A wonderful weekend in Maine!

1 night at Stonybrook Cascade

The site was clean level and a really nice setting. The host meet us on arrival and was very welcoming. Due to recent weather the cascade was dry but that that didn't take away from our stay at all. The setting is remote, quiet and made for a nice evening. We would recommend the site for a one-night stay or longer if you like peace and quiet.

I had such a wonderful experience at Stonybrook camp! The site was exactly as described — private, quiet, and surrounded by nature. The host was super responsive and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Weekend Trip to Stonybrook Cascade

Christine’s campsite was nicely laid out super maintained and the fire pit was very nice! The axe /star throwing game was a nice touch as well. We enjoyed the walking path to the beaver dam and the 300 yr old hemlock. Very peaceful back there as well. The site is semi private. Christine’s home is close by but far enough away for privacy. The site is next to their driveway and not too far from the road so you do hear an occasional car go by. But it wasn’t too intrusive. Overall a nice little spot and we enjoyed our time there.

Quick and easy booking. Lovely camping resort, beautiful grounds, perfect pool, cute store and even a huge “jump-o-line” for the kids. Celeste and her staff were stellar, welcomed and greeted me by first name🌻 I’ve stayed at the Austerlitz location and clearly-the SS Camping Family has high standards of service!

This was our second stay in three weeks! It is a great base to explore the surrounding area, and many of the main tourist sites and seaside towns are pretty close by. Also, the property is minutes from Little Ossipee Pond, where there is a small beach and water sports options.

Walnut Grove had clean campsites and restroom facilities. Our daughter loved the Jumping Pillow (like a big trampoline) and we all enjoyed the pool. The staff were friendly.

By far, the cleanest, most up to date, and we'll cared for campground we have tried this summer. The hosts were pleasant and friendly. They offered us drinks after our long drive. The music on Saturday night was outstanding, even though it was not my style. We had a great time. I'd recommend Pine Ridge to couples and adults as it is geared toward this crowd. Not really a "kids campground". But that's what I liked about it. Very respectful campers with smiles and a friendly hello.

Christine was very responsive to messages. The land was great unfortunately mother nature had other plans and the brook was a bit dry but could still hear the trickle… Christine graciously let us use her cast-iron and it was very much appreciated. All in all it was a great weekend.

The cabin was in a great location, close enough to walk into town and swim in the lake. Pet friendly was a plus and being able to have a fire was amazing.

What a perfect place to stay! Everything you need is right there at the camp site - wood, a babbling brook, wifi and some wildlife! Definitely will come back in the future.
