site #2 is a beautiful spot. Nice view of the river - watching the flow of the stream, the bird activity and the little fish rising in the morning was very peaceful. The access for our small travel trailer was great - could not have been easier. The other sites on this property are so far away that you literally feel as if you are there alone.

Kevin was super responsive! The site was beautiful! The only thing is we could hear and see the people in the site next to us. It’s not private at all if you are in the river. We could also hear traffic in the distance. It’s a great spot as long as you don’t want tranquility.

Beautiful site, exceptional host

This property is all my favorite things: scenic, waterfront, private, unique. Between the river curves, meadow, trees, mountains, and stars, every view is stunning. The port-a-potty was appreciated since I tent-camp, bit of a trek since it's at the entrance but that's preferable given it's shared. The other 3 sites are spread out, being the site at the end made wandering downstream especially private. I did notice the motorway sounds at one point, louder by the entrance versus the site and didn't bother us too much. Nice touches: riverside platform, hammock hooks, solar light, picnic table, grill stand for the fire. Especially appreciative for the host Kevin, who took responsive to a whole new level when he answered the phone at 2am when I was forced to call about a really unusual and uncomfortable situation going on with occupants at a neighboring site. Kevin was in another state at the time yet was incredibly kind, supportive, and effective with helping to resolve the issue and make sure we were comfortable staying another night. His care, concern, and problem-solving saved our trip, he's an exceptional trustworthy host.

Second time staying at site #3 and still enjoyable. River was a nice height after all the rain the previous week, awesome for floating next to the site. Easy check-in and great communication from host Kevin. Beautiful field for star gazing, portopotty near the entrance and shared with all four sites. Loved the tent platform near the water and level ground above for a rooftop tent. Great, affordable firewood for sale at the beginning of the road.

We’ve been to Kevin‘s camp spots a few times in the past couple years. Always very punctual responses, very accommodating with campsites left clean and have equally unique, private views of the river. Common stores available close by if you need anything in a pinch. we just had our family but great spot for groups.

Overall it was a good campsite and experience! The site was pretty private, but a 3 min walk leads you to the other sites, 5min to the port a potty. The river was pretty accessible, the bank leading down to it is a bit steep but not bad. Excellent cell reception at the site as well. Be careful letting dogs off leash in the woods, we found some old barbed wire along some trees.

Great Stay on the River

We had a great stay and really enjoyed our weekend! The property was well maintained, quiet, and made for a relaxing camping trip. The only minor downside was that the campsites were a little closer together than we thought. We could hear the campers behind us more than anticipated. Other than that, we had a great experience and will definitely stay here again.

Great camping spot!

Horseshoe Bend is a great perfectly clean Hipcamp site right on the river. The new outhouse is a bonus and very clean. We brought our tow behind, the site is level. The property is beautiful and we had a blast in the river! Very convenient location to anything you need. Kevin is a great host, very responsive. This is our second trip and we plan to visit again next year. Thank you Kevin!

Riverside private camping

This is a gem!! Wonderful campsites along a beautiful clean river. The campsites are super clean and spacious. We stayed on site number one and it was amazing. Very private! We were able to camp our 17 foot teardrop at the edge of the forest and brought our chairs down to the tent platform and enjoy evenings by the river. So peaceful in the evening! Kevin the host was also great! Very informative and provided detailed information prior to arrival. It was totally a stress free experience! Five stars!

If you’re looking for a quiet place to spend the day swimming and enjoying beautiful views then this is it! Site 4 was private and spacious with plenty of spots on the river to swim and get some sun. We can’t wait to come back!

At this point, Horseshoe Bend has become one of our family’s traditions. This was our fourth trip here and third time at Site 3, and we still wouldn’t change a thing. It’s private, peaceful, kid- and dog-approved, and the river is only a short walk away. We spend our days floating, exploring, relaxing around the campfire, and pretending real life doesn’t exist for a while. The new porta potty was a great addition this year, and Kevin continues to be an awesome host who’s quick to respond if you need anything. We always leave wishing we had booked one more night. Already looking forward to our next trip back!

My friends and I enjoyed this spot a lot. The river was perfect for swims to cool down and do a little fishing, and each spot is fairly secluded from the other two sites for privacy.

Beautiful spot, feels very private. Lake access is great. Has sun in the morning/early afternoon and shade around 2-3 and after. Kevin was very kind and communicative which was greatly appreciated. Would love to be back!

Not our first time at Horseshoe Bend and definitely not our last! We’ve stayed at a few different sites over the years, and while Site 3 is still our favorite, Site 1 was still fantastic! Being right on the river was amazing—perfect for relaxing by the water, letting the kids explore, and giving our dog plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors. We were also excited to see the addition of a porta potty since our last visit. It was clean, convenient, and a great improvement, especially when camping with kids. One of the things we love most about Horseshoe Bend is that it feels peaceful and secluded without being difficult to access. Every visit reminds us why we keep coming back… worth every penny and when we try somewhere else, we instantly regret our bad choice. Already looking forward to our next trip in about two weeks!

Great time on the river!

Great spot! Really a lovely location. Just a few minutes from lake Ossipee. Nice flat place for our rv right by the water. The lights are a thoughtful touch too :) We saw Mergansers 😍Yes you can hear the race track but its only sometimes and not intense. Couldnt hear it when tubing on the water, or inside our camper. All the other sites on the property were booked but its still very private, never heard the other campers, and you can't see anyone unless they're walking to the potty. We will 100% book this spot again!
