My home is the original Diers Homestead, established in 1940. It was named The Chicken Ranch in the 1960’s. There aren’t any chickens, but there are many forest creatures that wander out of the Green Mountain National Forest & into the meadow. You may see foxes, deer, moose, large marmots, and lots of different birds including wild turkeys & great blue herons.
Apple trees of many varieties are scattered around. Come eat freely when they fruit! You’ll be camping on a hill with a fire ring nearby. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets are both visible as the meadow is open to the south, east & west.
This is a special place in a perfect location. If you like to explore by foot, there’s a network of private hiking trails and a river to cool off in, both within 1/4 mile from your campsite.
Also easily within walking distance is the village of Rawsonville: Ungrounded Coffee, Meulemans' Craft Draughts, Honeypie, Family Kitchen and Pizzeria, Mountain Riders, Equipe Sport & the Rawsonville Marketplace where you can get basic supplies and fuel.
Speaking of fuel, if you really want to roll your wheels… Stratton Village is 8 minutes by car. Take a gondola ride to the top and check out the fire tower where you can see the entire lower half of Vermont state on a clear day.
The village centers of Jamaica, Londonderry and Peru are also very close by and boast great food and crafts. And there’s always Manchester, if you’re seeking lots of shopping and fine dining.
Horseback riding is a 15 minute drive from the campsite at Horses For Hire in Peru. This is a truly authentic experience. Trail rides for all abilities- even the “pony ride” for the little kids is a trail through the woods. Not to be missed! Also in Peru is Bromley Mountain which, during the summer months, becomes The Thrill Zone featuring a giant alpine slide.
At Bee Well Homestead in Jamaica, there is authentic BBQ, live music and yoga every Sunday morning.
The New American Grill in Londonderry has a wide selection of delicious food and their open mic night on Thursdays feature very talented local musicians.

6 Sites are on Sunrise Farms 75 acre Conservation land with 50 mile view for Sites 1 and 2. Very quiet area with lots of wildlife and ponds and disc golf. Very quiet with great swimming and lots of hikes right from your sites.
2 of the Brookside Sites (Wishbone Left and Right) are close by (2.7 miles) where we have another 1/2 mile of river frontage and can handle bigger groups as Conservation land on Sunrise Farm only allows 4 campers per site.
Sunrise Farm Sites 1 and 2 have oodles of space and Spectacular 50 mile views of Mount Monadnock with no house lights out there in the evening except the party string lights we provide.
Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from.
Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear.
We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest).
- PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use).
Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids.

In Winter we request only AWD vehicles go down to this site or park up by farmhouse and hike in so you can easily get out. When wet park up by the road if you have 2 wheel drive.

I have 3 well spaced out RV sites on the property. They fit different sized rigs so please read the descriptions. The Pond site is significantly larger and can hold multiple vehicles and tents or trailers (please add this in the extras if you will be having multiple vehicles or trailers). Pets are welcome at the sites, but please have them remain leashed or under your effective verbal control. Most will have cell service at the sites or there is a free public Wi-Fi in Wilmington center. Private yet convenient to Downtown Wilmington, VT. Located between the Harriman reservoir and Lake Raponda, both great for boating, fishing and swimming. As well as the Deerfield River across the street, which runs through town. There is a public hiking trail that goes through the property. It goes from the Fairview ave. boat launch in Wilmington, all the way up to West Dover. You can access this at the back of the site. The sites are only a minutes drive from downtown Wilmington, or you can hike/bike there on the trail (approx 15 min). In Wilmington there is plenty of shopping, gifts, coffee, restaurants, laundry, gas, liquor store/ dispensary, electric car chargers, etc. I have dry, split firewood available for $5 on site. Please don't bring your own wood unless it is dryed and prepackaged from a retail store or bought from one of the local sellers right around me. Transportation of out of state firewood can bring invasive beetles to our forests...if you need anything else feel free to reach out and I'll do my best to steer you in the right direction.

Fox Farm is located on 8 magical acres in eclectic Brattleboro, VT. Pitch your tent in a sacred private white pine forest or closer to the trail-head with access to a charcoal grill, a huge fire circle and a picnic table. If you prefer a roof over your head, check Fox Farm Cottage @ Fox Farm. Located ideally on a trail-head that leads to the West River Trail (a 36-mile scenic trail through the West River Valley – eventually linking Brattleboro, Dummerston, Newfane, Townshend, Jamaica and South Londonderry) and the West River, offering opportunities to hike, fish, swim, ski, snow shoe and bike. The Marina Bar and Restaurant is a 2 mile hike or bike ride from the camp site (via the West River Trail) and is a fun way to see the beauty of Vermont and partake in some excellent indoor/outdoor dining with views of the water.
Currently there are two areas available to campers; The Pine Forest and the Council of the Elders.
The Pine Forest is a shaded circular area that is very spiritual and quiet.
There are currently 3 camp sites in the Pine Forest.
The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders.
I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs.
Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making.
In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe.
Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far.
All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too!
Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do.
For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail.
The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience.
Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

Enjoy a private campsite nestled next to a tranquil pond. Soar over our gardens on epic tree swings. Hidden trails bring you through dense forests, past ancient hemlock trees to secluded swimming holes. We have one friendly off-leash dog, Oliver, an Lavender, that roam freely and may want to make friends with you. (And if you ignore them, they will leave you alone). We have laying hens, goats, and piglets that you are welcome to visit! We love animals -- as you can tell -- but are unable to host campers with dogs.
While cozing up to a campfire, you might hear the calls of birds of the deep forest like the hermit thrush and the barred owl, or the call of coyotes on the far ridge. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of unbroken forest that offer habitat to moose, bear, and deer, and numerous other wildlife. (Don't worry -- these animals are very shy and likely to run in the other direction if they see you.)
Pitch your tent on Thistledew campsite and enjoy a cedar tent platform, fire ring, rustic picnic table, and direct access to the beautiful forest and miles of walking trails. The campsite is a gentle 25-foot walk from the parking spot.
Quill Nook Farm is 25 minutes from artsy, outdoorsy Brattleboro, VT and I-91, and 25 minutes from the quaint village of Wilmington, with restaurants, breweries, and shopping. Mount Snow is 40 minutes away via Routes 9 and 100, and we’re only 45 minutes from the Mass MoCA art museum in North Adams, Mass.
The Harriman Reservoir is located 20 minutes away and provides a variety of spaces for boats, kayakers, swimmers, picnic areas with grills and more!
Do you want an “off the beaten path” hike or swimming hole with rocks for sunbathing? We can direct you to several secluded spots on our property or within 15 minutes. The Green River covered bridge and log dam is 10 minutes down the road, and you can sample from several farmsteads and art galleries in the area.

Here's some more background about the farm itself:
Our farm's site sits near an ancient Abenaki foot trail and crossroads of sorts. Stone cairns and old stone springs speak to centuries if not millennia of human habitation. The land was developed into a farm during Halifax's hey-day in the 1800s. Like many "hill farms" in the region, that farm disappeared into the forest after farmers moved to the Midwest after the Civil War. Thus the land was fully forested when Tristan purchased it in August 2005 — raw acreage, no buildings, no fields. He has been building it into the farm you see around you ever since.
Alison joined in 2020, and we had two kids along the way. The land is permanently conserved with the Vermont Land Trust, meaning it cannot be developed. The forest is sustainably managed for wildlife habitat to Forest Stewardship Council standards. The farmland follows organic practices. We both have off-farm jobs (in the sustainability field), leaving the farm as our passion project.
What we grow: Our gardens are home to Mandrake (the real-life plant that’s repotted in Harry Potter), dang-shen, Caucasian mountain spinach, sea buckthorn, haskap, teosinte — the wild ancestor of modern corn — and dozens of other edibles and medicinals that have been in relationship with humans for centuries or millennia and have largely vanished from modern gardens. We grow for ourselves and we donate our extra eggs and produce to the Foodworks pantry in Brattleboro.

Sweet Song Acres is 100+ acres of secluded forest nestled along the Little Sugar River, at the base of Perry Mountain.
Located in rural Unity, NH and Charlestown, NH, just across the Vermont state line. Southernmost point, located in Charlestown is one of two campsites. The other is Shady Grove, located in Unity.
The two sites, located in bordering towns share the same entrance and are connected by a 1/4 mile trail. Both are very large sites. Campers would drive to both sites down a trail so we highly recommend a vehicle with decent clearance and 4WD or AWD. Southernmost Point is a fully drive-in site. Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so.
The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. There are many options of local outdoor activities in the area or if you prefer, just sit and "listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul".

The land was originally part of a colonial Glebe Trust with the Church of England and divided up, the original 100+ year farmhouse and barn can be seen from many of the campsites.
Guilford, Vermont is located in the southeast of Windham County, resting along the Massachusetts border to the south and New Hampshire not far to the east. A community with a long and interesting history, Guilford was actually Vermont’s largest town as long ago as 1790. Now, with a population of about 2,100, its by no means considered a large community yet with its beautiful old covered bridges, churches, and one-room schoolhouse, Guilford maintains an unmistakable sense of history while at the same time having a reputation as one of the truly unique small communities in southern Vermont.
Guilford has some of the most quintessential small town landmarks in all of Vermont. Sites like the Christ Church, Broad Brook House, and Guilford Center Meeting House were all built in the early 19th Century and are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These buildings are found in what is considered the historic Center; shop for great local products at the Guilford Country Store, visit the charming Free Library, or even see some of the exhibits at the Historical Society Museum to learn more about the area and its history.
Beyond the town center, venturing through the rest of Guilford will enable you to see the beautiful Vermont landscape.

You can see mountains and there are more hiking trails throughout the county. The back and side of the property is wooded, very private! The view is of a meadow and mountain (Mount Anthony).
There is a fire pit and access to water and electricity.

Large enough for 3 tents or one RV (25ft or smaller). Porta potty provided. Hose for water. No electric provided, generators allowed. Easy access to beautiful Chapman Pond (100 yards away), which is stocked with Trout and also home to Bass, Crappie and Perch. Great place to fish or just relax! The use of two kayaks and firewood available at no extra charge. Lots of wildlife (loons, turtles, geese, deer, bear etc). You're free to explore the land and trails that go part way around the pond to the "Big Rock" and beyond. Info at the campsite for other nearby hikes and activities. We allow public access to the "Grassy Area", however larger camper groups that book this site have full access and are welcome to setup tents there, but no fires are allowed on the grass.. only in designated fire pit.
(FOR THOSE WITH A TOW BEHIND CAMPER, you will want to drive to the pond boat landing at the end of Chapman Pond Rd, turn around, head back towards the campsite and BACK IN.)
FOR THOSE WITH DOGS, we love dogs, we have our own. For everyone's safety and well-being we ask that you please keep them with you and under your control at all times. We have a farm nearby and want no casualties because of a loose dog. $20 PET FEE - 2 DOGS MAX.
Situated about 300 feet away from our farm, you will hear our roosters crow every morning. Properties are separated by a field and tree line. (So yes, technically it is our "backyard." ) The public access road to the pond does go by the campsite and access to our bell tent site does go directly thru this site. If you're looking for complete privacy, this probably is not the spot for you. If you're looking for somewhere easily accessible while still being surrounded by nature - inquire today about booking with us.

Great spot for a quick stop over. I wish I had more time to explore. The town is quaint and there is plenty VT things to do within 45 minutes. I did walked down to the creek but it had just rained and it was dusk in June so there were plenty of bugs.
As other have mentioned during the day it is a busy road but it is quiet by the time you settle down for bed. Plus you are in a little pain so you can't necessarily see the road 👍

Quite a nice spot tucked in the corner near the trails with a gorgeous stream. As others mentioned, you can still hear the vehicles on the main road, but its gets very quiet as night draws. Sleeping was super peaceful. Gus was great with checking in and welcoming my companion canine and me.

Great space for a van r RV. Beautiful tree for shade and lovely meadow for your view. Close to the street as the site is behind the studio but the street noise is not an issue..I didn't even notice it. I highly recommend taking a glass blowing class and visiting the studio. Robert is a wonderful teacher and Kathy was lovely and gave a great tour of the studio. Highly recommend the space and the studio!!

The spot at the pond was absolutely lovely! Quiet with nice views. It was well kept with the grass low so easy to enjoy the outdoors. There's a well tended trail next to it which follows a creek. Very pleasant place to camp! It's somewhat private but not secluded. Dog friendly, too. Overall a perfect spot for the night when travelling through the area.

We had a great time camping here! We participated in two glass blowing classes while we were there and Robert & Kathy were such warm and hospitable hosts! We enjoyed some great meals at their fabulous recommended restaurants and even had a magical evening star gazing at their grand opening of their Taft Hill Farm Observatory!

The campground is well maintained. The environment is very nice.. grass lawn clean. The trail nice is nice for Hiking. It is located around my route 9. It is convenient for in and out. The owner, Gus , is very nice. When I checking, he came out welcome to us and showed us where the campsite is and how to get there. My campsite has a tub of 5G T-Mobile. Will come next time definitely.

This campground is easy to park with a convenient bathroom and showers that are fairly clean. Toilets were cleaned both mornings. The last shower stall is large enough to get clothes away from shower area. The shower heads are intelligently placed facing toward the back wall and there was plenty of hot water. The washer and dryer are reasonably priced. We were there late in the season and they were doing some work with chain saws. Perhaps in preparation for the next season. Absolutely no managerial people spoke to us and the office was closed when we arrived. We just went to our reserved site.

We stayed at the Peaceful Pondside Retreat in our truck camper with our girls, a Golden Retriever and a German Shephard. The site was private and the walking trails right out our backyard was great. We loved cooking in our dutch oven over the campfire. It was a great weekend. Thank you Gus. BTW We had lunch at The Anchor and it was great.

We camp here every Columbus Day weekend and there isn't anywhere more quintessentially New England in autumn. Exceptionally clean, spacious and natural Army Corps property with lean-tos. Loads of hiking, near Weston, Okemo, and more.
