1 night at Strawberry Crossroads

I was in town for an event at the University so only spent one night. The Campsite was exactly as described. We didn’t use the bathhouse but looked inside, they were very clean. The cabins looked very nice also. Did have a chance to walk the grounds with the dog, it was awsome. Also spent a bit fishing in the pond, I caught and released several fish in an hour and a half. Thanks so much TJ for sharing your wonderful property

Absolutely fantastic find, as I left PA and headed to Ocean City, Maryland for a 3-day weekend, with no reservations anywhere. I came across this completely secluded campground thru the Hipcamp App and booked my stay. I brought my camping gear with the intentions of throwing a tent wherever possible. The bathhouse is in fairly decent shape though there was no warm water when I showered, which wasn't a problem for me at all, cold showers are good for ya! (bring shower shoes) I actually welcome them in the warm weather, as it was warm out. I picked a spot clean in the back field and was joined later only by 2 other campers in tents. An absolutely outstanding campground, that I will be staying at again on very ip to Ocean City, Maryland. I had questions and TJ answered immediately. Easy in and easy out. I highly recommend to those looking for a secluded and serine camping experience.

Weekend Trip to Strawberry Crossroads

The hosts are very communicative and hospitable. The pricing is great. This place is beautiful. We had some issues that were corrected and some that were not. The fridge wasn't plugged in when we arrived and when we did get power to it; it was broken. They quickly replaced it and fortunately we didn't have any food go bad but plan on bringing food in a cooler just in case you have issues too. There are no curtains or blinds; which apparently was in a picture of the cabin that I missed. If you're out late and want to sleep in, it's difficult due to light filtering in early and dressing and undressing made me uncomfortable because people walked by and could see inside, but there's a bathroom close by that could be used for that. The showers had no hot water two days in a row. They said they're planning on fixing that. The heater wasn't needed but there was no knob to use it if we needed it. However; they get bonus points because they provide a kayak and outdoor seating and a bonfire which is amazing; as well as your first firewood for free. The benefits far outweigh the issues we had and we are 100 percent sure if we had addressed these issues with them they would have taken care of what they could have immediately. That's why we'll be back. We intended to leave a five star rating but didn't see where to do that! It was still worth what we paid and close by to Ocean City.

Wow ! This place is a hidden gem on the Eastern shore of Maryland. The sunsets are to die for ! There was a single tree in the exact spot the sun sets ! The sun goes down right in the center of the tree giving off the impression that it is on fire ! Stunning ! Our hosts Leon & Katie helped us with backing our 26' trailer into our spot ! After that it was five days of R&R while visiting Old Salty's during a bluegrass festival ! We plan on returning sometime later this year ! This is a top notch hip camp ! If you are searching for peace and quiet, boating or fishing and crabbing this is the place. Thank you Leon & Katie for your hospitality and allowing us to see those gorgeous sunsets ! Acorn Palace was the perfect getaway for me. Everything was very nice and new, and Kristen thought of every possible detail. It’s close enough to the park that you could walk to the lake if you would like, but also feels very secluded. Kristen was very friendly, and hospitable. I would definitely like to return!

Pine Meadow Campsite was the perfect blend of seclusion, comfort, and natural beauty. While the campsite itself is small, there's plenty of space to spread out and relax. The grounds were spotless, and we were constantly serenaded by birds and delighted by the sight of rabbits hopping through the area. The real highlight, though, was the watershed—a beautifully maintained building featuring a half bath, a full bath with a standing shower, and a small but impressively stocked kitchenette. It had everything we could possibly need (and more!), and stepping inside felt like coming home after a long day of hiking and exploring. What made this stay even more special was the location. Nestled on private property right in the middle of Rocky Gap State Park, we had easy access to everything the park offers—without the crowds or the hassle of public campground facilities. And if I could give this stay six stars, I would—thanks entirely to our incredible host. She was kind, responsive, and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her hospitality made our trip unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful location and cabin! Everything about the experience was well thought out. Everything we needed was at our fingertips and the cabin was adorable and cozy. Really loved the tiny wood stove! Can't wait to return!

Mulehalla was great. We camped there the night before heading out on a bikepacking trip on the C&O. The campsite and the campground facilities were very well kept. The host was very responsive and was gracious enough to let us park a vehicle on-site why we bikepacked. The campground was about 1/5 mile from the trail. Overall, it was a great experience--thanks!

Quiet, open space with no one around — just what we needed. Great picnic tables and a peaceful atmosphere. Would stay again.

1 night at HUNTER'S PARK BY WASHINGTON, DC

Very clean and beautiful campsite! The string lights were a godsend since we ended up arriving after dark. We had pre-bought eggs, firewood, and honey and those were very easy to pick up on the way to the site. Got to see some horses, as well as hear peacocks and owls! There was a lot of rain on the trip so we didn't get to explore as much as we would have wanted to, we'll just have to come back later!

We had a great stay at Strawberry Crossroads. The site was located on the perimeter of a large field. It was in fresh-mowed grass, level and plenty large enough. Our host delivered the wood we purchased and we had a lovely fire before turning in for a quiet and peaceful rest. This is not a resort or KOA type campground. It’s much more akin to a really nice boondocking site with a reliable power source. We would stay again though.

There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive. Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing. Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support!
