Come as you are, as you were
This place is so naturally/historically beautiful but more than that it is so toughtout, hospitability designed, and environmentally conscious. Once you book and they send you the location of your private parking space, you could almost just jump in your car and show up and nearly everything will be provided for you. (I say almost because you still need to bring spare warm clothes, toiletries, and either buy/bring food.)

I never quite caught what Mic and Cat do for a living, but whatever it was, it must be either in architecture or interior designing. (Sadly due to COVID there was minimal contact with them, other than in the beginning when Mic gave us a tour of the space.) The site juggles both beauty/aesthetics and functionality so well! The way I think I'll break it down is in three parts: historical beauty, hospitable design, and environmental consciousness.
1. Historical Beauty: If you haven't been to Idyllwild Pines, CA then I can't think of a way to get your Idylwild experience better than if you come to Camp Owl Pine. The site is located in one of the oldest properties built-in Idyllwild, dating back nearly 100 years! Cat and Mic and some of the previous owners, did an amazing job of keeping the original design of the property, including the original rock paths that take you to your site. I was so thoroughly impressed with how gorgeous the place was, but knowing the history of the place, it had such a non-pretentious vintage vibe to it all. The wooded areas around the property down to the trailer you sleep in at night have such a majestic and sturdy comfort to them.
2. Hospitable Design: Whether it be the incredible array of kitchen utensils and equipment, the thick and comfortable bedding/blankets, the array of comfortable bathrobes and towels, the USB plugins, the hammocks hanging by the trees, the wooden kitchen space, to the wooded site itself, so much of the site is created with the camper/guest in mind. I was surprised at how all-inclusive it was, how conveniently placed everything was, and how each item had a place that just seemed to make sense. They have board games, bathrobes, park passes you can put on your vehicle for when you go hiking, to a yeti cooler to store food, the list goes on and on. There just doesn't seem to be anything they haven't considered and Mic and Cat really do their very best to make sure your every need is met.
3. Environmentally conscious: Mic and Cat believe in a "Leave No Trace" philosophy in their site, and you can really see that they mean it. They have four different trash cans available on-site, for various recycling, trash, and composting. Their toilet is also designed to be a composting toilet and their drainage system trench draining/weeping tile/french drain makes it so the water goes back into the soil around the property. They, therefore, provide all the soap and shampoo you need and insist you use theirs, rather than bring your own. It's nice to know that even as you vacation, you're leaving behind a place with as little of a "footprint" as possible.
All in all Camp Owl Pine is a perfect getaway for a couple or party of two. To relax, unplug, and discover the town of Idyllwild. This site is truly a gem, in a very historic, beautiful, mountain town.
