Retreat Cabin
Incredible experience. Munro is a wonderful host, and you can feel all of the love and care that goes into the property. The cabin was cozy, the animals were adorable, and the food from the garden was delicious. Great directions to find the site, we were able to do it at night. We will definitely be back :)

Dharma Tsam Meditation Cabin
Seclusion, Comfort and Beauty
An excellent and new experience at the Humboldt Farmstay Experience during the Solar Eclipse at the new Dharma Tsam Meditation Cabin, situated on a secluded site above the main farm. The high ceilings, large and plentiful windows and supreme craftmanship of the cabin provided mental clarity; while also meeting the necessary physical comforts including fresh water and an outdoor stove and kitchen for preparing simple meals and boiling hot water for cleaning and making tea. A drawer full of a variety of tea was provided, along with a comb of honey! Arrive early in your reservation time to ensure a tour of the farm which includes the best hot shower accommodations. The short walk to the cabin is steep, and requires good traction during the wet time of year; go slow and rest along the way if needed. Pack lightly, bring what you can carry preferably in a backpack and it will help your stay be most minimal. Munro is a wonderful host and helped us carry our provisions and blankets for the bed. He is generous with his offerings of time and knowledge gained through many years of experience of running a permaculture farm. The squirrels and the wind occasionally dropped items from the trees on the roof; do not be startled. The pure darkness was healing; slept better than we had in months- with no buzz of electricity distracting. If using a hand held electronic device for taking photographs, charge ahead of time. There is no cell service, which is perfect. Let the distractions go.

Retreat Cabin
Majestic secluded forest retreat
The meditation cabin was a lovely spot to escape and explore a beautiful piece of the forest right along the river. The property has no cell service and is tucked away on the top of a hill side. The simple outdoor kitchen overlooked the trees and the valley below, while inside the large windows let the forest peak in. The stars were thick at night with no shortage of shooting stars to lead you sparkling into dreams. Munro welcomed me to the farm, explained the opportunities and personal space available for me to enjoy while giving me an introductory tour of his working permaculture homestead. I feel like my jouney has just begun and already i am looking forward to my return. 😊

The Lean-To
So much more than a campsite!
Oh man, staying with Munro truly is "an experience"! The property is awesome; it's a lovely little farm with a variety of crops and a bunch of lovable animals roaming around. The cabins are nice and cozy, and the shower is really nice. More importantly, Munro is incredibly friendly and willing to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The other campers and volunteers were all awesome, too; I really wish I could have stayed for longer, and I will definitely be back. There's no electricity and typically no cell service (except for Verizon, it seems), but it's a perfect opportunity to either unplug and relax, or get your hands dirty and learn a few things.

The "Unit" Private Cabin
The cabin was great! So comfy and near to shared kitchen and communal bathhouse so convenient. Also the closest to the most AWESOME SAUNA you have ever been to. You also get your own cute little wood stove😊. ~Love
