We recently purchased this RV park and are already making upgrades and improvements. Our goal is to create a community environment and a vacation destination your family can enjoy. We are less than 30 minutes from the Petrified Forest and many other nearby attractions.

Gateway to The Petrified Forest RV
Ok parking area. 20ish miles from Petrified Forest National Park. The electricity worked well and the parking areas were clean and well-spaced. Close to the interstate. It was not a pretty area and did not have fire pits or picnic tables. Very basic. There was some noise in the early morning as people left the campground. The biggest problem was the water. It was TERRIBLE! We use a zero water filter and the readings that I was getting from the meter attached indicated huge amounts of solids in the water. Some readings indicated levels unacceptable for human consumption. Filtering the water ruined our filter and it still tasted terrible even after filtering. I don’t have professional equipment, so I don’t have official test results, but I think it’s important to pass on the info. We had to buy water for our stay. I notified the host and the hip camp “owner”. The owner said “ thanks for letting us know”. Neither of them seemed concerned about the quality of the water or that I had paid for potable water.

They are working to upgrade the park. Next door property on both sides have much old equipment visible. Many tumbleweeds and burrs that often made it on the dogs coat, our clothes and into to RV. Suggest they add picnic tables and shade pavilions and a fence to hide adjoining eyesores. Need to remove the weeds. Quick response from the host on all comms. Easy to find with good directions. Wasn't the typical HipCamp that I think of as small with solitude. from what we can tell this is the closet option to Petrified Forest NP. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. Good location for visiting Holbrook and historic Rt. 66.

Never again, no good for the money
We booked this campground, because we expected a private owned land, with one site for a motorhome to be rented out and the other site for us. Instead we arrived at a site with about 20 other motorhomes, apparently for longstay purpose. It was a black grid terrain, where even weeds would not grow, without the least of shadow, except from our own motorhome. To be honest it provided a fullhookup and there were clean restrooms. But the cost $ 43 per night, did not weigh up to the here above mentioned disadvantages. The second day we wanted to use the washing machine, but one of the inhabitants came directly to us, to tell rather unfriendly, that that was only for long term people.

We loved the sunsets and appreciated the use of gravel to cut down on sticky burrs!! Very convenient location to stay out when wanting to visit the Petrified Forest. It is nothing fancy but it was clean and the hosts were very helpful and responded to any questions we had!!

Can't wait to see what they grow to
I had read some things about this location on another app and it was not real complimentary, they were WRONG. They are remodeling and it is a work in progress. This location has a nice gravel top and is very easy to set up on. The sites are relatively large and easy to noymt only get into, but easy to be in. This is not a luxury campground, you won't find a swimming pool, tennis courts, ect. They are working on what's important. New power, water sewer. They have a couple of nice showers and a washer/dryer. Had one problem while there, the power for the entire camp went out around 10pm and Trish got on the phone, made some calls, said some prayers and the power was back on in about 30 minutes. It was a good stay.
