Welcome to Verde River Vortex where we have simple yet Comfy Cabin Accomodations with access to tons of outdoor activities in close proximity to our lovely space. The Cabins are nestled around a patch of Bamboo and other high desert vegetation offering nature and relaxation in the Jacuzzi after a day out adventuring.
Only a few minutes away, The AWESOME Verde River which offers TONS of water fun, SUP, Kayak, Swimming, or just chilling.
Each Cabin is fully equipped (hot water/basic appliances/kitchen/bathroom/dishes) as an Adventure base during your stay providing a comfortable, cozy and unique location for couples or small groups to enjoy while adventuring and creating memories in the area. Being an Outdoor Adventure Guide and Native to AZ, We provide various suggestions on local activities for our guests to enjoy as well as helpful tips to get the most out of their stay. Your Host is a professional Outdoor Adventure guide with years of experience all over the Southwest and Costa Rica and always happy to help with adventure shine!

At The Cottage, you will not be in a suburban or semi-rural neighborhood. You’ll be staying far from local cities. This is a free-standing, remote, deep-in-the forest place with a gorgeous view of the famous Spring Valley and mountain views of Mt. Sitgreaves. Walking, hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing start at your door.
The Cottage is nestled in 40ft-75ft pines, the perfect place for a weekend getaway deep in the Kaibab National Forest. Whether you’re looking to beat the heat of The Valley, Havasu, Tucson, So California or Vegas, or for a serene trip, a romantic getaway, or an adventure vacation, or even a honeymoon, this is the place. You'll love the "no air conditioning needed" comfort of The Cottage.
This property was initially developed in 1990 by the Wrigley Family... Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs), Wrigley Chewing Gum. Known by legacy as “The Wrigley Ranch,” it’s the last vestige of the once incredibly expansive, former land holding of one of America's most prestigious families.
Horseback Riding available on site, guided or unguided riding right here all year 'round! Also Target Shooting and 4wd Tours are usually available March 15 - Nov 15! (Weather restrictions may apply. Add'l costs apply. Visa, MC, Cash on site.)

Walk freely on our 10 acre property plus its add’l fenced forest land or just head out onto walking/ski trails to Spring Valley Tank.

Grand Canyon is only 60 miles due North.

Staying at Jason's cabin was exactly what this trip of adventure into the great outdoors called for. Crystal loft was super cozy and the upper deck was a beautiful added bonus, especially on the night of a full 🌕 I would definitely recommend an SUV for the trip.

The Jupiter cabin was a great experience. We loved being out in the country with small beautiful towns close by. Jason was a perfect host and operated like a well oiled machine. We absolutely loved our stay at Red River Vortex! Everything about it was perfect. It was close to everything we wanted to do yet the cabin itself is somewhat remote so it's perfect for a relaxing experience. Jason was an amazing host. He suggested many incredible places to explore and was very knowledgeable about the area. We took up several of his suggestions and we were very happy that we did. I would highly recommend Jason's spot and we plan to return when we can.

We loved our stay Verde River Vortex! We stayed in for 3 nights and had a blast. Jason the owner is very accommodating and just an overall good guy! He let us borrow a stand up paddle board and shuttled our family up river so we could float down (absolutely no charge). It was such a cool experience, my husband and I floated the Verde River each with a kid on the front of our board! He also recommended a variety of secluded swimming holes for the next day. There is a hot tub on the property he let us use as well, our kids absolutely loved it! If you want to enjoy the stars, be off the beaten path yet close to town, this is your spot! I highly recommend these cabins!

Such a perfect stay! The cabin is perfect size for two people and the hot tub was perfect as well. There’s bamboo outside that helps with the privacy which is very nice! The location puts you out in nature but also very close to downtown Cottonwood which was a blast to visit! We will for sure be back!

Weekend Trip to Verde River Vortex
Our host went above and beyond to make everything about this experience amazing. The stay was so soulful. We took the opportunity for river kayaking, and it was made so easy with our hosts help. We were blessed to be able take the time to spend a quiet day painting rocks and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. A few nights under the stars on the loft deck were the reset we needed. Can’t boast more about this stay. Highly recommend all of it.

A very peaceful stay away from the busy city! Jason's helpfulness of what we could do in the area was very much appreciated. It was the best to have a place to stay with two little kids where we didn't have to worry that their busy feet were annoying anyone below us in a hotel. We created some very special memories staying at Jason's cabin and meeting Jason! The nature that surrounds the cabin is stunning and is a great getaway. We used hot bubbly Jacuzzi under a beautiful sky after our long hike. We all loved climbing up on the loft just to chill and observe beautiful sky and feel some fresh air. Jason welcomed us so kindly and made us feel home. The cabin and Jason's hospitality is so special and something that is hard to find elsewhere. We highly recommend! Thank you so much Jason! WE LOVED OUR STAY. The host was super helpful and had countless suggestions on places to check out. The river was beautiful! We plan to come back again and explore. This town is soooo underrated. It feels like we know about a secret place and it’s only 1.5-2 hours from the Phoenix Valley. The “cabin” was small and basic. No frills but we felt safe, had WiFi, clean place to cook, shower and sleep.

We absolutely loved these cabins! Jason was amazing! The hot tub was hot and felt great! Pet friendly and our dogs found so many bones! Trees provided so much shade. Comfy beds and futon. If your over 30 I wouldn't suggest sleeping in the loft if you've been drinking lol. Could use some games and a microwave but honestly was the time of our life! It was a staycation for us as we live in cornville but such a great get away. Will definitely book again.jason was the shit!!!!
