Let us be your base camp for desert exploration whether it's hiking, riding, birdwatching, and learning. Come to Camp Saguaro and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert. Our friendly hosts can help you plan a great day, some of them even have their Certified Tourism Amabssador credentials. Please note: We are tobacco-free, medicinal herbs are legal and ok as long as children are not around. What to expect: We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote. We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible. We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time. Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free. Welcome to Red Rock Roping! Where you will be a close 3 mile drive to old town Cave Creek restaurants, bars, and shopping strip. Enjoy them from a picture away :) Our 2 accessible acres will give you 360 view of mountains, our Red Rock Roping arena, and a Saloon to gather under to enjoy cool refreshments, and a meal with your friends/family. Right outside our entrance going North on 80th Street you can hike over to the Grapevine Wash which is a short walk away from the Cave Creek Town Trail System for hiking and horseback riding, and if you’re adventurous you can hike up 2 miles of a 800’ climb on a gravel road/trails to “Mexican Hat” for an even more incredible view! We are a 30 amp full hook up (sewer, water & electrical) for 33’ RV’s and living quarters horse trailers. You will also have access to our community laundry area, with a large garbage can to dump a bag if needed. Some suggestions for town; Grab some quick delicous breakfast and coffee at Janey’s. Or American cuisine lunch at The Horny Toad, a Mexican cuisine dinner while watching the turtles in the pond at El Encanto! Ofrenda, right at the end of the road, also has great authentic Mexican cuisine. Many restaurants to choose from all within a short drive. Bashas, Safeway, Target, and Walmart and Sprouts are all within a 3-6 mile drive too! We have two turnout pens for horses. That are located right behind where you will park your trailer. They both have a cover that provides some shade, as well as running water. We do not provide any feed, so please make sure you bring some! We ask that you please do not feed any horses that do not belong to you. Or go into any pen that your horse is not in. For safety and respect :) Thank you in advance. So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home." I've always adored the SW Hummingbirds and wanted to name the property La Hacienda Chuparosa. When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be. So we added a couple of horses to our dream, built some stalls, and now are ready to welcome you to La Hacienda Chuparosa. We know you will find the same magic here that we do.

We (Tim and Victoria) moved out to our place in the desert in February 2008 along with our many plants. We have continued to grow our little farm of 6 acres to what it is today, which includes an orchard with about 50 fruit and nut trees and enclosed garden/greenhouse structures with veggies and herbs that are protected from wildlife and the elements. We have a seasonally heated pool with 3/4 wraparound deck and amazing views of the Tucson Mountains. We have a basketball court, a ping pong table, cornhole court as well for recreation. Our Beach site has a domed 'chill zone' with heaters in the winter, comfortable chairs for relaxation and a great spot to let your dog hang out unleashed. Our Prickly Pear site has a pull through for campers and RVs. Our RV site has 30 amp electric and black water dump station. All of our sites are fenced in, and have many, many cool amenities such as fire pits, sinks with fresh, pure water, table with 4 chairs, gas grills and lounge chairs/porch swing. Our property in a 160-acre neighborhood surrounded by open desert state lands. In our sustainable community/neighborhood are like minded, peaceful people who are as connected to and respectful of the land as we are. We are looking forward to hosting Hipcampers and sharing our lovely slice of heaven.

There are 6 sites available to book and a community picnic area that has barbecue grill, table, chairs, Putt-Putt, cornhole, horseshoes, and frisbee golf equipment for you to use. Just please put everything back the way you found it. All guests are welcome to use the main picnic area, during their stay. Even if you book a deck further away you still have 100% access to the main deck area and all of its activities. There are no services at this site it is a dry camping area for as many days as you need. Whatever you pack in you must pack out. No garbage waste or pollution whatsoever. The meadow is full of prairie dogs so be careful driving around so you don't drive into a prairie dog hole. All campers must have their own waste facility such as their own camping toilet and water source. Absolutely No dumping any waste on the property. There's no electricity on the property so bringing your own generator is a good idea, if you need electricity. Cool and funky atmosphere! 70s music abounds. Night time movies by the pool. Good strong coffee and a Berkley Water filter. Bathroom/shower well kept and clean. The hosts are very nice and loaned me a 30A adapter. I'd go back for another stay.

A standout RV Park and Motel with all the charm of the midcentury-modern American West with a tiki-bar twist. Toni is lovely and welcoming – as were all the staff I met – and she personally came out to greet us in the morning after we arrived very late. There is plenty to do but not the usual things to see...that's what makes it so special. El Pais is truly a delight to behold and a place you'll want to revisit. We loved Camp Land Beyond Zion! It has everything you need from a convenience standpoint without that cramped, parking-lot RV park feeling. You get to be out in nature while still having the essentials, and the people are phenomenal—so welcoming and kind. My advice: stay here and make Zion a day trip. It’s absolutely worth it! Go explore Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, too, and give yourself a few extra days to just camp, relax, and enjoy being here. This place deserves more than a quick overnight!

If you're looking for a huge RV resort, Camp Land Beyond Zion isn't it—and that's exactly what makes it special. We stayed in Redrock Site 11 with our fifth wheel. While the campground mainly caters to tent campers and Class B and B+ camper vans, they do have a couple of sites for larger RVs. Tiffany and Gill met us when we arrived and even helped us get set up, making us feel welcome from the start. Our site had water and electricity (no sewer hookup), but there's a large modern RV dump station and Bee's Marketplace just a short drive away. The campground's community kitchen is a wonderful gathering place where guests can cook, wash dishes, and socialize. Although the campground is still young and has few trees, Tiffany shared her plans to add more landscaping, and it's easy to see how this place will only get better with time. The highlight of our stay was the night sky. In less than an hour we saw four shooting stars, and the Big Dipper was spectacular. Combined with the peaceful setting and Tiffany and Gill's genuine hospitality, it made for a stay we'll always remember. Years ago, when we traveled by tent, this is exactly the kind of campground we would have loved to find. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we're passing through the Colorado City/Cane Beds area.

We loved camping at Tiffany and Gil's place. It's quiet, funky, fun, clean, well-appointed and near enough to Bryce and Zion and lots of other great places. They have 2 kitchens; one has a table and chairs so everyone can talk, drink, eat while you're preparing the food. There are many places to sit, read, relax while taking in those views. And there are places to hike nearby if you don't want to drive too far. Highly recommend and we'd go back.

Where to go

Northern Arizona

While northern Arizona's best-known attraction is the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, there’s plenty more to see and do, from visiting Lake Powell on the Colorado River to backcountry tent camping among the ponderosa pines in the Coconino National Forest, Prescott National Forest, and Kaibab National Forest. Sedona, just south of Flagstaff, also makes a great base for hiking among Arizona's Red Rocks or swimming in Oak Creek Canyon’s Slide Rock State Park.

Western Arizona

Dubbed Arizona's "West Coast," this part of the state offers all sorts of outdoor activities, much of which revolve around the Colorado River. The town of Yuma near the southern border is a popular spot, featuring an old Wild West prison and serving as a good base for visiting the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge. Attractions further north include Lake Havasu State Park, where you can swim, camp, or even check out the 19th-century London Bridge. Further north, the massive Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers year-round camping and easy access to two lakes.

Central Arizona

While it's easy to associate central Arizona with Phoenix sprawl, this region offers a lot for outdoorsy types, all within a short drive of the city. Popular spots for outdoors lovers include the Superstition Mountains in the Tonto National Forest, Lost Dutchman State Park, and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. If you're interested in archaeology, the Montezuma Castle National Monument is also worth a visit.

Southern Arizona

Southern Arizona is full of Wild West spirit, with a mix of historic ghost towns and scenic desert landscapes, plus plenty of forests, particularly in the Chiricahua Mountains. Must-visit parks include Saguaro National Park and Catalina State Park—both just outside Tucson. If it gets too hot, make like a local and head to Patagonia Lake State Park, a prime spot to swim and cool off from the Arizona heat.
