Please note: We are tobacco-free, medicinal herbs are legal and ok as long as children are not around. What to expect: We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote. We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible. We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time. Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free. So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home." I've always adored the SW Hummingbirds and wanted to name the property La Hacienda Chuparosa. When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be. So we added a couple of horses to our dream, built some stalls, and now are ready to welcome you to La Hacienda Chuparosa. We know you will find the same magic here that we do.

At A "MILD" 4200 Feet Above Sea Level, the campground is on an Arizona desert oasis. For those who love the outdoors, the campground has a panoramic view of the Mule, Swiss Helm, Perillo, Chiricahua, and Dragoon mountains and is located just outside the quaint, historic city of Bisbee, Arizona. In winter, the dry desert air makes it feel a few degrees warmer than the thermometer indicates. Located on a 120-acre ranch we are pet friendly and have over 3 miles of hiking trails. Our accommodations also include camping cabins and RV rentals. For your enjoyment, we have a large well-equipped recreation center with a tv lounge, darts, ping-pong table, and pool table. Highspeed internet is located at our Clubhouse. The Clubhouse also comes equipped with bathrooms and a shower.

Weekend Trip to Camp Land Beyond Zion

If you're looking for a huge RV resort, Camp Land Beyond Zion isn't it—and that's exactly what makes it special. We stayed in Redrock Site 11 with our fifth wheel. While the campground mainly caters to tent campers and Class B and B+ camper vans, they do have a couple of sites for larger RVs. Tiffany and Gill met us when we arrived and even helped us get set up, making us feel welcome from the start. Our site had water and electricity (no sewer hookup), but there's a large modern RV dump station and Bee's Marketplace just a short drive away. The campground's community kitchen is a wonderful gathering place where guests can cook, wash dishes, and socialize. Although the campground is still young and has few trees, Tiffany shared her plans to add more landscaping, and it's easy to see how this place will only get better with time. The highlight of our stay was the night sky. In less than an hour we saw four shooting stars, and the Big Dipper was spectacular. Combined with the peaceful setting and Tiffany and Gill's genuine hospitality, it made for a stay we'll always remember. Years ago, when we traveled by tent, this is exactly the kind of campground we would have loved to find. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we're passing through the Colorado City/Cane Beds area.

We loved camping at Tiffany and Gil's place. It's quiet, funky, fun, clean, well-appointed and near enough to Bryce and Zion and lots of other great places. They have 2 kitchens; one has a table and chairs so everyone can talk, drink, eat while you're preparing the food. There are many places to sit, read, relax while taking in those views. And there are places to hike nearby if you don't want to drive too far. Highly recommend and we'd go back.

Gil and Tiffany were tremendous hosts! Felt welcomed and they were positively engaging and I felt like family. Wonderful view from my campsite. Best showers I've ever had and kitchen was roomy and well stocked and easy to use. A wonderful Hostel feel to everything! If you are traveling for a Zion experience definitely stay here and if not make this a destination stay of 3-5 days and enjoy the spirit and vibe of this place and enjoy Zion as a bonus. This quick overnight stay in Tucson was exactly what I was looking for. Karl was extremely helpful and kind, and even helped me park my trailer after a grueling 14 hr drive with bad weather. Plus, he recommended a great burger spot close by. The place had a cozy atomic sheek vibe with retro art cars and vintage trailers. There was a communal kitchen, two showers and bathrooms, a nice clean pool, and an assortment of movies and board games for your choosing. Highly recommend.

I had so much fun at the vintage campgrounds. So cute I loved everything, I could not stop going into the clubhouse and looking around so much to look at all the vintage items and loved the kitchen. Highlights were their dog rancher, running around and shepherding our RV to our spot, fresh organic eggs, the patio and pool are so cool and fun to hang out, and the nighttime movie was awesome. Biggest pleasant surprise was the vegan food truck. Food was amazing. My husband got a chocolate peanut butter shake made from freshly homemade vegan ice cream. Jade and Karl were friendly and welcoming. Had the best time. Can't wait we're friendly and welcoming. Had the best time. Can't wait to go back.

The folks that run Camp Saguaro are friendly, engaged with the campers, and genuinely care. They played Easter Bunny and hid Easter eggs throughout the camp for everyone to find... What a hoot!! The facilities are clean and well maintained. I look forward to coming back again.

Where to go

Northern Arizona

While northern Arizona's best-known attraction is the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, there’s plenty more to see and do, from visiting Lake Powell on the Colorado River to backcountry tent camping among the ponderosa pines in the Coconino National Forest, Prescott National Forest, and Kaibab National Forest. Sedona, just south of Flagstaff, also makes a great base for hiking among Arizona's Red Rocks or swimming in Oak Creek Canyon’s Slide Rock State Park.

Western Arizona

Dubbed Arizona's "West Coast," this part of the state offers all sorts of outdoor activities, much of which revolve around the Colorado River. The town of Yuma near the southern border is a popular spot, featuring an old Wild West prison and serving as a good base for visiting the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge. Attractions further north include Lake Havasu State Park, where you can swim, camp, or even check out the 19th-century London Bridge. Further north, the massive Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers year-round camping and easy access to two lakes.

Central Arizona

While it's easy to associate central Arizona with Phoenix sprawl, this region offers a lot for outdoorsy types, all within a short drive of the city. Popular spots for outdoors lovers include the Superstition Mountains in the Tonto National Forest, Lost Dutchman State Park, and the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. If you're interested in archaeology, the Montezuma Castle National Monument is also worth a visit.

Southern Arizona

Southern Arizona is full of Wild West spirit, with a mix of historic ghost towns and scenic desert landscapes, plus plenty of forests, particularly in the Chiricahua Mountains. Must-visit parks include Saguaro National Park and Catalina State Park—both just outside Tucson. If it gets too hot, make like a local and head to Patagonia Lake State Park, a prime spot to swim and cool off from the Arizona heat.
