When returning, enjoy what the property has to offer. A trailhead beckons you to the shores of Mill Creek. If you pause along the trail, wildlife will stir from their hiding places. Song birds, rabbits, deer, voles – yes. But also river otters, beavers, ducks, owls, and coyotes. The trail is historic to the property - you will find remnants of fallen barbed wire fences, an abandoned electrical post from 70 years ago, and a 1960’s sedan, all taken back by the forest.
A wetland boardwalk ushers you to a creekside deck. A birdwatcher's paradise, here you can kayak into Lake Isabella or tube downstream. This is private access -- the expansive wetlands prevent neighbors - you will only share this special space with the occasional kayaker. There is a beaver dam just upstream, and if you visit at twilight you will hear them stir from dens along the bank.
When hunger stirs, stroll north along the trail to a secluded upland picnic table. Dine among the woodland animals.
Between our rental cottage and RV site is a large propane fire pit with half-moon seating - perfect for roasting S'mores late into the evening or stargazing in a region remote from city lights.
With just a single RV site and cottage, the nearest neighbor acres away, and only State land between the property and Hwy 101, you can expect a private stay in a forested setting with easy freeway access to the Olympics on one side and an idyllic private creek side nature preserve on the other. Campers are responsible for everyone at their campsite. Guests must leave at dusk. Quiet time is from 10:00 pm to 9:00 am. Radios/music must go off at this time. Please be courteous of neighbors by keeping noise levels down and confined to your site to ensure that everyone has a good camping experience.
NO littering, fires or fireworks allowed. October – May out door BBQ or propane fire pit OK if you have ability to extinguish a fire. No smoking outside of your campsite. Glass containers/bottles, cigarettes/joints are not permitted outside of your campsite. You agree to dispose/recycle your own waste. Pack out what you pack in. Leave only footprints, take only pictures.
Do not harm the wildlife. Dogs must be leashed (6ft max leash) at all times and cleaned up after immediately and cannot be left unattended in your Campsite. Speed limit throughout the campground is 5mph. Please do not park along any of the roads; they must be kept clear for emergency vehicles.
The Camper will use the Campsite in a manner which is safe, orderly, lawful, sanitary, clean and respectful of the rights of other Campers The Campground is not liable for weather conditions, natural events, damages caused by wrongful conduct or carelessness of others, any injury, damage, or loss/theft. This is a camping location with ACCESS to the river, access to OUR farm land, ponds and DNR land. Our camp spots are private and not stacked on top of each other. We are about 45 minutes from ocean beaches, only a few minutes from the best riding, hiking and boating in the world. We have a cute bar and restaurant within a mile. Also gas and groceries are close as well. Boat launch is about 1/2 a block easy access.
There is talk about sites at the river, we have some in their premature stage. This is NOT offered through our Hip Camp site!!!!! There are reasons for this: When we initially opened, we allowed people to camp there through Hip Camp and I was getting low stars ratings because Entitled people thought for $28 bucks, they got the whole river to themselves and would fight with other campers. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. In the coming years I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. But for now, Enjoy Camp Hope and the river ACCESS too!! We appreciate the wonderful feedback everyone gives it helps us grow with you!!

The ranch is 23 acres partially wooded with a nature trail and open fenced paddocks and fields. We have a herd of horses on the property and offer Equine Assisted Learning and riding lessons onsite. Guests love it here: "What a nice surprise! I was not sure what to expect staying on a horse ranch, but it was everything I could have hoped for and more. Kristy was an awesome host and there was one other group up by the rv pad, but we hardly saw them. Dogs were very friendly and Kristy let us use a propane fire-pit to provide warmth and a fire for our tent site. The bathrooms were clean and there was some water by our site, but we did not use it.
The camp, for the tent site… we arrived and she drove us all over her property and told us to just choose where we wanted to camp. We chose to stay in back of the horse area. While we could see the house from there, we didn’t care and if you want to move back in the woods further, there are spots back there too that would provide more privacy if you need that. This is a great site and a one of a kind experience being that close to the horses."

Rainbow Ridge itself is largely comprised of the three houses on property as well as the surrounding woodlands. Its area spans fifty acres of elevated terrain surrounded by a forest creek (where crawdads can be found). The camping area is on about five acres of the property and is populated by alders and evergreens, making it a wonderful place to connect with nature. It's a beautiful area sure to soothe the soul. A short but captivating nature trail is open to campers who are interested in a walk up the gentle hill. We do have a worm composting toilet and water available for washing. A new hot shower will be available. A couple of more sites are in the plans.
Nearby is the quaint town of Montesano. Lake Sylvia is there for those looking to discover one of our lovely state parks. Closer by, there is a river with boat launch that runs down and through Montesano for people who want to swim, fish, float, or boat. Montesano's central location in Grays Harbor allows it to serve as a wonderful base of operations for those looking to explore more of the coast, and northwestern peninsula.
The way up to Rainbow Ridge is a short winding driveway of somewhat steep grade, delivery trucks have no problems, so if you have a small camper or less, you should be fine.

Weekend Trip to Elevation Hive Forest Retreat
This place is amazing! Pictures don't quite show how close it is the water. It is very relaxing place with a wonderful porch to sit on and take in the view of the water and forest. The bed is really comfortable too! The host is very responsive and helped us locate things in the kitchen we wanted to use. We were only there for a quick one night getaway from the city but hope to be back soon to enjoy the outdoor shower and more!

Weekend Trip to Fischer's Place on the Estuary
Initially, we chose Fischer's Place as a good place to launch from for various activities. We were not expecting to be totally enchanted by the location, the incredibly warm and thoughtful hospitality of Camas and family. So there is the sound of cars on the road in front, but the lovely, cozy little trailer that was home for a couple days made up for it for us. Loved Fischer's Place!

Amanda’s geo dome was perfect for a weekend getaway. Everything was stocked well, the area is beautiful and peaceful and access to the water made for a beautiful paddle at sunset. We were visited by barred owls at night and seals on our paddle. It was perfect. Amanda was quick to answer any questions. We will definitely be back.

We wanted to visit Hood Canal (oysters!) and Lake Cushman (swimming!) but didn’t want to deal with crowded campgrounds. This site was quiet, private, peaceful, and beautiful. It was just the right size for 2 people + 1 doggie. Sarah & Karl were so kind and welcoming. We also booked a card reading with Sarah during our stay—highly recommend!

2 nights at Fischer's Place on the Estuary
The view of the Olympic Mountains and Hood Canal from the camper is amazing, and it was just a delight to look out the windows or go down to the water, and watch bald eagles, seals, herons, etc. The camper is cozy but well-appointed, and we loved the personal touches from Camas (e.g., fresh picked berries and a bouquet of flowers).

So peaceful. For my husband and myself it was a great experience. We did absolutely nothing but relax, read and enjoy the view. Unfortunately Mt Rainier decided not to show herself. We saw a huge eagle and a Red Tail Hawk. Because of this we had to keep a very, very close eye on our 13 lb dog.
Our neighbors were a delight as well.

Such a tranquil spot to relax and play by the Satsop River. The number of birds we heard was amazing. Our friends paddle boarded, while I floated in an inner tube. We were definitely glad we brought a picnic table shelter because it was hot during the day and very misty in the mornings. The special touches by the hosts were a wonderful treat—roasting forks, comfy loungers, hatchet target game, rowboat, and maybe the nicest porto potty ever.

Narrow driveway was easy to miss however it is clearly marked and the directions were good. Steep Hill, but we made it fine and four-wheel-drive pulling a 30 foot fifth wheel. Yellow table site was beautiful the area spacious and had a water spigot nearby and 30 amp electric. The view was fabulous.

What a cool place! The sites were clean, well maintained and spread out. The porta potty was clean and had a small light for nighttime use. Don and his wife were amazing hosts and the goats were a fun surprise! We even got to pick plums and the kids had ample room to ride their bikes and enjoy the property. We’ll definitely be back!
