Weekend Trip to GeerCrest Farm

What a beautiful property! Jim certainly tends to the land and makes sure his guests have what they need. We just stayed one night driving through. He pointed us in the direction of a place on the creek we could swim. I absolutely recommend Jim’s place!

10/10 would highly recommend! Carsner's tree farm is a great stay! Mike and Stephany are kind and helpful, the location is near enough to town that you have access to all the stuff to do, but far enough away that you can really escape and breathe. It's a great spot!

Dew Valley Ranch was an amazing place to stay and we will definitely be back. The hosts were extremely accommodating and friendly. We stayed in the Knappin Haus and it felt like you were at your own private retreat. Everything was clean and looked great. The included breakfast was delicious.

Comfortable size, nice queen size mattress & bedding, comfortable full-size sleepable sofa, fluffy towels & washcloths. Perfect for our little family of 2 adults & a toddler. Too distant from the toilets for a toddler, but we brought a potty chair for that reason. This cabin would comfortably fit a playpen or a toddler mattress if you wanted to bring one.

Weekend Trip to Shelter at Castle Rock Farm

This is camping at its finest. Everything was perfect. From the moment we drove into the property, we could tell that this is a very special place, and very well taken care of. The forest is so pretty in this part of Oregon. We woke up to woodpeckers, and all kinds of birds chirping, and saw deer and wild turkeys at dusk. Richard is a lovely host. He was so nice and welcoming to me and my son. He made sure we had everything we needed: firewood, fuel for the stoves, etc and he gave us all kinds of great suggestions for nearby hikes, waterfalls, and fishing spots. He gave us a tour of his garden, and we walked out to the fish pond with his sweet yellow labs Annabelle and Daisy. The Big Maple site has everything you need, and more! A big comfortable tent, lots of lanterns, a covered kitchen area, covered deck and the hammocks are a very cool bonus. Everything is designed well and very well built and thought out. The fire area is super cool too. I love the hand-made wooden stools. I can’t wait to go back!

Weekend Trip to Lane Creek Reserve

Lara and Lane Creek Reserve are 10/10. My husband and I stayed here on the last night of our honeymoon after a week of roadtripping, and we will ABSOLUTELY be returning! We booked our stay somewhat last-minute, but Lara was so generous and obliged our requests for a charcuterie board and bottle of wine upon arrival, along with breakfast the following morning. The food was exquisite - Lara and her adorable kiddos are the finest of hosts and you will NOT be disappointed if you choose to add anything additional to your stay! The shower was hot and fabulous, and the composting toilet was the cutest glamping bathroom we’ve ever experienced. We absolutely loved spending our evening in the hammock by our glamping tent, walking around the farm and meeting the animals, and loved that the farm was dog-friendly (with dogs on leash!). In the morning, we even got to spend time with the sheep. Please don’t miss this experience, and when you stay, soak in every minute (and say hi to Georgia the sheep for us!).

What a wonderful experience! I highly recommend Lara’s farm for any style of camping / glamping. We will DEFINITELY be returning. Lara came to greet us upon arrival. She was very helpful and communicative. She provided recommendations based on our goals. Glamping Tents: The tents were in great condition, with the BEST BEDDING I have ever glamped in!! So soft, kept me super warm and insulated throughout the night. The beds were very comfortable and clean. Each tent was equipped with fans, solar lanterns (multiple) that could be used to charge your phone, air freshening spray, extra bedding, and rugs/decor. So cute and we could tell a lot of thought had been put into them! Amenities: A spacious HOT SHOWER 🙌 with plenty of towels and a large bench to place your items. An outlet to plug in a hairdryer etc. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. A separate door code to the shower with a door that locks. A well maintained compost toilet/outhouse with a washing basin to wash hands, bug spray, hand sanitizer. A cooking station with burners, a mini fridge, a large sink, and basic cookware. 2 hammocks and 4 tables. FOOD: Do yourself a favor and buy the breakfast. I will be dreaming about that food on my deathbed. Everything was fresh and completely local - butter, eggs, milk, cream cheese, fruit, vegetables, potato hash, bacon, sausage, bread, yogurt, granola. 🙌 Incredible portions and Lara even gave us some takeout containers for the leftovers! Thank you Lara & fam!

The site was wonderful! Richard is a very conscientious host, and the site is extremely well equipped with everything you need from stoves to firewood to a beautiful tent for your night stay. We had a wonderful time and we look forward to coming back again!

1 night at Miranda's Farm and Recreation

We had a great time camping at Miranda’s farm! Sotero was so funny and kind. And, they thought of eveything. So many cute little details. We loved having the pups off leash so they could explore while we soaked in the hottub. Also, the fridge, microwave, and water dispenser were a great addition. And, the composting toilets were actually pretty cute! It’s a little closer to the road than we thought but once you’re inside and see the views, none of that mattered! Will totally go again!

Jim was an excellent host and was on the property to help with anything we needed, even purchasing firewood on-site. It was a beautiful area. It has room enough for parking by the treehouse, a couple of tents, and sleeping in the treehouse. The latrine was clever to put wood shavings to not emit an odor. Beautiful area.

1 night at Lane Creek Reserve

I can’t say enough great things about our stay. We just did one night, but got great sleep on the bed with super comfy and warm bedding. Lara is an incredible host and willing to share her knowledge and passion with anyone wanting to learn. The bathroom and shower were great. We picked up eggs, honey, and a cinnamon roll on our out and it was amazing. Our son got to walk about and pet the animals, it was a really magical experience. One that I would recommend to anyone.

This was a lovely little getaway. Eric and Jimbo were fantastic hosts and made us feel very comfortable here. The garden was beautiful! The little pool they had to cool off in was quite relaxing.

This is a great location if you are traveling or road tripping to any destination along the West Coast of North America! Take a day trip to Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. We also recommend that you visit the Galesville reservoir about 5 minutes up the road. The yurt has a queen sized loft bed with cotton sheets, a warm cotton comforter with duvet cover, a woodstove, and a folding mattress. You are also welcome to bring your own sleeping gear. *LEAVE NO TRACE, just as you would when camping = please pack out your own trash* There is a wood stove for the winter months, a solar powered refrigerator, a propane stove and oven, along with a sink, and kitchen countertop space. Basic kitchen ware like: utensils, plates, bowls, Italian stove top coffee maker, off grid blender, cooking pots, pans, etc. We provide plant based dish soap, hand soaps, and shampoo. GeerCrest Farm

GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6). Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish!
