We're close to the beach and the Sunset Bay Golf Course is on the same property. Lots of hiking trails and you can connect with Sunset Bay State Park our neighbor. We have a private, secluded campground that is wind sheltered with approximately 20 acres of space in which to use our covered table, picnic tables, fire pit, fire rings at individual campsites, BBQ, sauna and outdoor propane-fired shower. The camp area is tucked away among large spruce trees and open meadows which lead to endless trails on the property, with the option to buy a round of golf at Sunset Bay Golf Course, which is right next door to the camp area. We’re just short of a mile from Sunset Bay, where you will find kayaking, fishing and a great spot for kids. The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. Charleston, just 3.5 miles away, also has some great restaurants and local shops to truly make your stay memorable. Only friendly dogs allowed and leashed or under voice command.

GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6). Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! Your experience will certainly be unique to the season. Your host Jim Toler represents the fifth generation of the farm and will happily share stories of the farm and it's history. Snow season starts in late fall and continues through March. Snowparks, snowy woods, and meadows are nearby for cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The roads to the cabin are plowed, but you'll need all-wheel drive, and tires that are safe for snow and ice. When you arrive, you'll be greeted and briefly introduced to some of the cabin's unique features, including attic stairs to the windowed sleeping loft. Downstairs is a sofa and a sofabed. The coffee cart kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, and microwave. Cook on an outdoor gas grill with a skillet and saucepan, and enjoy outdoor dining at a picnic table. Dishes, linens, and bedding are provided. WiFi speed is suitable for basic use. Mobile phones connect through WiFi. The cabin is non-smoking. Children eight years and up are welcome. Summer recreational areas are nearby with miles of trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, are nearby. Howard Prairie Lake is across the road. Howard Prairie Lake is a local favorite for fishing for Rainbow Trout and smallmouth bass. Birdwatchers can see eagles, pelicans, geese, ducks, hawks, herons, and many other bird species. A 20-minute drive will take you to Lake of the Woods, where you can dine, hike, and kayak, or snowshoe and cross-country ski in the winter. Crater Lake National Park is 50 miles away.

Foster reservoir is 30 minutes away and Green Peter Reservoir is 45 minutes away for boating, swimming, and fishing. There is a loop exercise trail that circles the property and offers 30-degree climbs. You can also play games inside or basketball outside. We thought it would be great to have family gatherings and get togethers here and think of this as our slice of heaven, and hope others enjoy it as well.

The Whiskey Run mountain bike trails are a short drive away and are truly world-class trails. The Sunset Bay State Park has a huge trail network that spans the cliff line all the way from Sunset Bay to Cape Arago. Chuck’s Seafood in Charleston is a great spot to pick up local seafood. BBQ some oysters on the grill or pick up some fresh fish and enjoy the bounty of the coast. GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6). Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! The coffee cart kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, and microwave. Cook on an outdoor gas grill with a skillet and saucepan, and enjoy outdoor dining at a picnic table. Dishes, linens, and bedding are provided. WiFi speed is suitable for basic use. Mobile phones connect through WiFi. The cabin is non-smoking. Children eight years and up are welcome. Summer recreational areas are nearby with miles of trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, are nearby. Howard Prairie Lake is across the road. Howard Prairie Lake is a local favorite for fishing for Rainbow Trout and smallmouth bass. Birdwatchers can see eagles, pelicans, geese, ducks, hawks, herons, and many other bird species. We do live in an active neighborhood so a little noise is normal but minimal. The cabin, in a Douglas Fir grove next to a seasonal creek, sits on five forested acres and is adjacent to BLM lands open for hiking. Outside is a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. Snow season starts in late fall and continues through March. Snowparks, snowy woods, and meadows are nearby for cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The roads to the cabin are plowed, but you'll need all-wheel drive, and tires that are safe for snow and ice. When you arrive, you'll be greeted and briefly introduced to some of the cabin's unique features, including attic stairs to the windowed sleeping loft. Downstairs is a sofa and a sofabed. The coffee cart kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, and microwave. Cook on an outdoor gas grill with a skillet and saucepan, and enjoy outdoor dining at a picnic table. Dishes, linens, and bedding are provided. WiFi speed is suitable for basic use. Summer recreational areas are nearby with miles of trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail, are nearby. Howard Prairie Lake is across the road. I had an amazing stay at this cozy yurt near Coos Bay, Oregon. The property itself is stunning—set on a vast stretch of woodland that is even part of a golf course, it felt like a peaceful retreat tucked away in nature. The yurt was warm, inviting, and the skylight made it extra special. Hearing the nearby stream in the evening and waking up to soft natural light were some of my favorite things about the yurt stay. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make my stay memorable, even taking the time to show me where to find edible mushrooms on the property. It’s clear they genuinely enjoy sharing their land and encouraging guests to explore and connect with the outdoors. The sauna and outdoor-style shower added to the rustic, nature-inspired experience—simple, refreshing, and perfectly in tune with the setting. Overall, this stay was peaceful, unique, and full of thoughtful touches. As a solo female I felt incredibly safe and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, nature-focused getaway. 🌿

I highly recommend; I’ve stayed in multiple b&bs + camping locations in Portland, and this has by far been the best. This hipcamp is everything — it’s beyond cute, it’s in a good location, it has all the major amenities, and has the warmest host. We felt so safe here and so creative. The size was perfect for two people and one tiny dog, and it’s obvious that a great deal of care has been integrated into every detail of this airstream.

The little A-frame structure was perfect for my needs and stood up well to some pretty blustery weather on my first day. It takes a minute to locate the structure if you arrive in the dark and rain, as I did, but once I was oriented, all was well. Definitely recommend this instead of a tent if you're coming at a time of year when the weather is a bit unpredictable.

We arrived at night, here are my lessons learned: 1. The city block the campground is on it right on the "main drag," in the middle-ish of town. Just drive slow, and look to each side till you see the A-frames. 2. The only time we used our flashlight was to shine it on the door numbers when we arrived. Other than that, the campground is magically lit by red lights (to avoid starlight interruption) and glowy rocks embedded in the paths. Plus moon/stars. 3. If the stars are out, GO THEN! We decided to rest first and by the time we came out later there was cloud cover. (Still lovely.) 4. The heater actually keeps the A-frame warm! It was down to the 30s at night during our stay, and we did not need to bring "back-up" blankets. 5. Bathrooms are also heated, and have private flush toilets and private showers. Yes, you have to walk to them, but it is a very short and easy walk. Lovely and peaceful - will be back!

I absolutely loved staying here in my deluxe cabin! It was the perfect personal retreat I needed, the cabin was super clean and cozy, nice fluffy bath towels and the Wolfgang Puck coffee pods were a treat! The park was quiet and at night I could hear the river from my cabin, there is a nice trail down to the river and I was able to spend time by the river in the evening. The location is so close to many waterfalls! Toby and Dustin are super nice hosts! The shared restrooms were clean and the showers hot! I loved the small trails to wander on next to the park. I cant wait to return as this will be my place to stay this coming year, thank you for providing such a nice place to have a get away from the world! My only request would be to allow for a late check out if needed but I ended up leaving early to see more waterfalls!

We were looking for a quiet, peaceful and unique experience and Antelope Basecamp (ABC) delivered. Brandie was there to greet us and if she hadn't been it would've been fine as she was very communicative, and the information she and Larry sent to us was accurate and very helful. ABC is located in the rural outpost of Antelope, OR. It is close to Shaniko, John Day Fossil Beds/National Monument, including the Painted Hills, and Mitchell where there is good beer and great food. The centrally located firepit and gathering area at ABC is splendid and big enough to get a rip-roaring fire going to warm you to your bones. Though we had times of unusual clouds and rain this wkend, it is typically very clear and sunny in this part of the state. The A-frame cabin that we stayed in had two twin beds with cozy linens and ample heat from the in-wall heater. There was also a mini-frig, coffee maker, and snacks provided. Bottled water and sports drinks for a couple bucks. A separate building had showers on one side and bathrooms on the other - all very clean. This is a work in progress and Brandie and Larry have great vision and some really nice plans to provide refuge whether you are out exploring on your road or mountain bike, motorcycle, or interested in getting away from it all and stay at ABC while you take day trips. There is rich history in this region, and rich landscape, and many simple pleasures - wildlife, geologic wonders, beautiful waterways, and starry, starry nights

Stayed in one of the A-frames with my two small dogs for a weekend and had a lovely time. It was a stormy, rainy couple of days in October, so I didn’t get to explore the property or surrounding area much, but that ended up being perfect since I had just come to relax anyway. Once I got set up inside (with some string lights, a hot water bottle, and a good book), it felt nice and cozy. I was glad to have brought the hot water bottle and a couple of extra blankets, b/c the temps inside were roughly the same as they were outside. The transparent panels make it feel like you’re sleeping among the trees, and the sound of rain on the roof was wonderful. The roof is corrugated steel, so the first time an acorn pinged off it I just about jumped out of my skin, but we got used to it quickly. Ultimately I think those noises were part of the charm. Saw some beautiful deer and lots of wild turkeys. As a woman camping solo, I felt very safe. The property isn’t completely remote (it’s tucked next to a neighborhood and there’s a private residence onsite) but it still has a peaceful, wilderness feel, especially in late October when there were fewer visitors. For anyone curious (since I couldn’t find this info beforehand), each A-frame has its own fire ring and picnic table. Thank you for the great weekend!

We are located in Southern Oregon. We are off exit 88 on Interstate 5 in Azalea, Oregon. This is a great location if you are traveling or road tripping to any destination along the West Coast of North America! Take a day trip to Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. We also recommend that you visit the Galesville reservoir about 5 minutes up the road. The yurt has a queen sized loft bed with cotton sheets, a warm cotton comforter with duvet cover, a woodstove, and a folding mattress. You are also welcome to bring your own sleeping gear. *LEAVE NO TRACE, just as you would when camping = please pack out your own trash* There is a wood stove for the winter months, a solar powered refrigerator, a propane stove and oven, along with a sink, and kitchen countertop space. Basic kitchen ware like: utensils, plates, bowls, Italian stove top coffee maker, off grid blender, cooking pots, pans, etc. We provide plant based dish soap, hand soaps, and shampoo. There is a composting toilet and outdoor shower with a propane water heater for warm showers. Please bring your own bath towel. Please confirm you can walk up a staircase. There is a picnic table in the pasture, with several wooden log type chairs. There is internet available on the picnic table by the main house front deck. Connect to the internet via ethernet. We have a usb-c converter, an Apple converter, and a usb drive to access the internet through ethernet. This is a glamping experience, partially off-grid, and we hope that you take the time to unplug. All of our farm goods are available for sale. Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Eugene is 25 min, and the beautiful Oregon coast is 45 min drive if you want to smell the ocean air and visit Florence.

8 campsites and 2 original Mongolian Gers. The season for the camp sites is from June 1st to end of Sept and the Gers for 2025/2026 winter are blocked out from Nov 15/25 to May 15/26. Pets allowed, toilets on site, campfires permitted when burn ban is not in place. Now up until this year I have provided Free Firewood. I have quit doing that for a variety of reasons, the least being the cost and the work for me. I am encouraging everyone to purchase a Propane Fire Pit if you don't have one by now. I am not to the point yet of saying no big dogs. Talk to me if you think your "big dog" might not fit in. I don't like them running thru other campers sites, so just be respectful. Take them for walks along the lake.. No Yappers, no barking dogs, no pain in the butts. Why would you drive by 46 grocery stores and forget to bring ice? No loud music. I have changed quiet time to 9:00 PM. If you need to listen to the chaos/stressful music I suggest you start a band or become a DJ. What I want folks to get out of being here, whether they are camping or staying in the Gers is just to “take a break”. Relax, appreciate, assess and just listen. I hope what you hear is the sound of life and of course all the Angels that make up this special piece of Heaven. Then there is the silence. The best part of “Heaven”.

Our names are David and Nicole, this is a bit of our story. We were going through all that stuff and conversations that you do, when you know your spirit needs a big shift. It took two years and we narrowed it down to two choices both included letting go of "things" and the life we both thought we were working towards. In July of 2017 we closed escrow on our second choice, we purchased a neglected 1949 roadside motel and RV park in Bandon, OR. We haven't looked back and each day we pour our hearts out to revive the property. Some days you notice what still needs to be done there are many plans to make our vision whole, but most times you just notice the little things and it feels comfortable and welcoming. We are both thankful for all the guests who have made our space theirs. David and I invite you to enjoy a clean, simple curated space to relax and reboot. Welcome to the Bandon Wayside.
