***Dome is completely off grid, runs completely off solar power. Guests can check how much power they have on the generator under the kitchen countertop by hitting the display button. Electric should be sufficient but glampers will do are responsible for using the electricity responsibly so as to not drain the battery completely.
There is a microwave for cooking, a charcoal grill on the deck (charcoal and grill necessities included) and a fire ring for open flame cooking. There is a hammock provided for warmer days!
Please note that when temperatures dip into the teens and the single digits make sure to bring warm clothing as dome can still get a bit chilly on those nights. Also note that there is a hand washing station outside of the dome next to the port a potty however when temperatures dip into the teens and single digits the water can freeze up in the hand washing station. We do also provide hand sanitizer as a back up. The outdoor shower is only open typically from April through October. In addition, the only form of heat is a wood burning stove with starters and wood provided, so it will be your responsibility to make sure that the stove keeps burning with wood as to keep the dome warm. This most likely will entail getting up at least once a night to stoke/put wood on the fire. On very hot summer days the dome can get very warm inside. We have a high powered fan and black out curtains to help but it still can get very warm. Best to utilize the outdoor space in the late morning/early afternoon hours or use this time to explore the area. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING!
Also, there may be some bugs that you see. Especially stink bugs in September and October. We do our best to keep bugs out, yet this is a Glamping experience which is between camping and a typical Airbnb experience so please plan/pack/expect accordingly. Thanks!

Our gateway to Pisgah camper van is set on top of a mountain on 10 acres. It is parked on the land in the front of my home, with a separate parking area for privacy. It is the perfect spot, centrally located between Asheville, skiing and tubing resorts, and national forests, each being between 20 and 30 minutes drive. It has a bed that sleeps two, as well as a seating area that the table goes down and converts into a small bed. The camper van is air-conditioned and has a space heater, has a conduction cooktop in the kitchenette, as well as running water in the sink. There is a portable flushing camping toilet inside. A grill, fire pit, hammock, and outdoor shower with shower pump sprayer. Linens, towels, toiletries, and kitchenware are provided.

Raven ridge is a 5.0 acre property with plenty of botanical appeal, Appalachian charm and mountain views. James landed on the property in 2009, built a small dairy barn and milked 3 cows for a couple years before building the two cabins. In 2015 he was joined by Sofi, originally from Sweden and together they have three daughters.
Together they manage a botanically interesting hill farm and are happy to host travelers and seekers in their cabins. Privacy: The main house is about 30 yards up the hill. We're close if you need us, but we give every guest plenty of privacy. The front deck holds your screened-in private hot tub. The back deck is reserved for quiet reflection — meditation, yoga, birdwatching — and we ask that it stay silent.
On-site extras: A massage therapist is often available on-site — just ask about pricing and availability. We also offer 2–3 hour wood-fired sauna sessions for an additional fee (covers the labor and wood involved) — well worth it, and easy to arrange with advance notice.
Location: You're 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, with easy access to great hiking, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and art galleries. Asheville is 15 minutes away, Weaverville about 10.
A note on noise: This is a quiet retreat, not a party spot. Our nearest neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill, so we ask all guests to keep noise low, especially in the evening, which is also why the back deck is reserved as a silent space.

This is a DRY SITE. Your camping vehicle must be able to hold both sewage and gray water. The site borders a North Carolina trout stream. We reserve the right to cancel if you do not comply. The campsite is about 1.25 acres and part of a larger property. We set up a travel trailer here while we built our home. Recently one of our neighbors, who does quite a bit of camping, set up their travel trailer in the same spot while their home was being painted. I sleep a lot on the day bed in the living room so the Sawmill can be comfortably rented for up to 4 guests. The outhouse is a thing of the past, just recently I installed a compositing toilet besides the bedroom.We also offer The Summit which is a high elevation, 2-story cabin surrounded by national forest which has evolved into an off-grid living and play space located at nearly 3300 feet elevation on a 1/2 acre flat with an incredible view. There are very private old forest service trails leading directly into the Pisgah National Forest.

I loved the location and the sky. I'm a female solo camper and felt very safe. The site felt relaxing despite being by the highway. The structure and field give you a sense of privacy away from the highway. (I'd consider this semi-private.) Since I arrived late and had food in the car, I chose to sleep near the road, though I could have camped in the field. (I considered the field, then considered that bears would like my midnight snacks.) You'll hear some traffic, but traffic isn't heavy at night. There was a structure on site to block some traffic lights. This site is easy to get to off the 26, a big plus if you're driving at night. It's only one exit away (about 5 minutes) from Mars Hill shopping and pubic library. It took me about 20 minutes to get to Asheville. I car camped, didn't get to creek, but enjoyed the morning view. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend this site if you're in the area.

Lindsey's hit camp was amazing! What a fun and unique design. Getting to tent camp among the treetops ultimately made it feel like a fun tree house. There are also plenty of places to sit and read, and though there is not a restroom on site there's a gas station I got pizza and use the bathroom. Five stars

Never intrusive but incredibly helpful, kind, and generous with recommendations for the area and making sure we had everything we needed. And the swimming hole/river swimming is the absolute best! Another amazing stay! This trip I took my two kiddos and my dog. We stayed four nights, and everything was magnificent. We had coffee by the creek in the morning, spent a chunk of the afternoon by the waterfall, and then enjoy campfire in the evening. The privacy cannot be beat. The only time we saw another human was when we made a run for more ice, 15 minutes to the Publix. If you are debating whether this campsite is a good one, just book. You’ll not be disappointed.
