We are the coolest little campground in WNC. 3feather Sanctuary is tucked away in the amazing countryside of the Appalachian mountains, surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and a creek meanders through the property. We have all the amenities and yet retain the rustic natural charm of the majestic mountain town. We have an amazing bathhouse(commonground) with the best shower, communal fridge & honor system w/d, tucked beside a convenient outdoor covered kitchen, we have fiber WiFi, & swimming hole.
This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities and some of the best that North Carolina has to offer!
3Feather Sanctuary is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and has a creek meandering through it. The closest town is Hot Springs, which is 20 minutes away and the Hot Springs are a definite must-see if that peaks your interest! The town itself is also pretty cool. There are some good shops, restaurants & our favorite hardware store!! Downtown Marshall is also close, about 25 minutes and has a lot to offer! Gr8 restaurants, thrifting and cute shops along the river.
Our property is about an hour away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the adorable city of Asheville - which makes for a fantastic day trip with delicious restaurants, breweries, cool shops, and more! The Great Smokey Mountains and Deep Creek are about 1.5 hours away from the campsite. The Appalachian Trail is closeby and there are countless opportunities for stunning hikes. There's also kayaking, tubing, white water rafting opportunities as well as zip lining and horseback riding. There is something for everyone to enjoy and we can't wait to share it with you!
Full disclosure:
We have a camera pointed at the entrance and one at the bath house door, which we can move around to make sure that when people check in they make it to the right spot since I manage remotely part of the year. We have regular yard maintenance, however, we are Country natural landscape, not parking lot type campground, so the grass is slightly higher in some small areas but truly those things are part of a sustainable and uniquely beautiful camping experience!

This camp site is on just over an acre tucked in the mountains near the end of a dead end road. The location is quiet with no other homes in sight, yet less than 10 minutes to the lovely town of Hot Springs with bars, restaurants, shops and more. A small creek runs along one side of the property and the other side runs up a mountain.

What a lovely spot next to a beautiful creek! My husband and I were looking for a last
min getaway and this was such an easy instant gratification Hipcamp. The site was very well maintained, spacious, level, picturesque, easy to park and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our day sitting in the creek followed by dinner by the fire. Our dogs were in heaven! The hosts were attentive and helpful. Can’t imagine a better boondocking spot. We will be regulars for sure!

This property is beautiful and well worth a visit. I highly recommend this! The host, Mark, is super communicative and helpful, making the whole process seamless. Also they have a snack shack with eggs from their chickens, plus other go-to essentials. This site is awesome.

I loved their hipcamp! It was beautiful, peaceful, and overall a great time. The hosts were very welcoming and the tent sites are very clean! They have a platform for your tent and a nice wood chip parking spot.. AND an extra parking lot which was nice.

As always it’s such a pleasure staying at troublesome gap. Super private aside from the occasional passing car. No light pollution so the stars are incredible. Perfect for the individual seeking seclusion and just raw nature.

Quiet setting. Saw a lot of deer and squirrel. No light pollution at night, we spotted over 13 satellites in the night sky the first hours of star gazing. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating. The awesome shower and wifi were an added bonus.

It was a lovely piece of calm pie. Being able to set a chair in the creek and read was lovely. The amenities were great - sink to wash dishes, hot shower, and toilet. There were other campers but far enough away to still have peace. Would recommend.

This campsite was everything we hoped for-one of the best we've stayed at in our many years of camping. It's private, beautiful, spacious.Just amazing! We and our pups had a blast playing in the cool creeks. Mark went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. In fact, we had to run out to the store when an unexpected storm popped up. We had left our tent top off and it was completely opened up. We rushed back to try and beat the rain only to find Mark already there putting the top on our tent. So thoughtful. The cute little Snack Shack was great for ice and snacks. And we enjoyed seeing all the animals on the farm, especially Braxton, the friendly donkey.

The location was perfect! Stargazing was perfect, everything was peaceful, and even the porta potty was pretty clean all things considered. We did see a water snake while playing in the creek (to be expected when you’re out in nature) but just a warning to keep your eyes peeled if you’re playing in the water.
