Some places give you somewhere to stay, but Wickered Farm gives you somewhere to belong. Our first visit was wonderful, and returning made us love it even more. This truly feels like our home away from home, and Mark and Angie are the heart of that feeling.
Mark and Angie, your kindness and warmth mean more than you probably realize. You make us feel like friends you’re happy to welcome back. When we think about the farm, we think about how comfortable we feel there, the little moments that make us smile, and the two people who make it all possible.
I absolutely love the corner store! Having eggs and ice right there is so convenient, and the prices are great. It’s one of those thoughtful touches that makes settling in and enjoying our stay so easy.
This visit, I also made a new friend: Braxton the donkey! He already had my attention, but when he licked me, that sealed the deal—he officially stole my heart. Braxton certainly deserves more apples the next time we visit, and I’ll be looking forward to seeing him again! ❤️
And the little creek seals the deal for our fur babies. Our new puppy, Rico, claimed a little hole in the creek and spent a full 45 minutes entertaining himself, chasing the splashes until he completely wore himself out. Watching him have that much fun was pure joy. Those are the moments you wish you could bottle up and take home with you. The water is so refreshing that every dip feels like a little baptism—you come out feeling renewed.
Mark, I hope you know how much the care you and Angie put into this place matters. You’re giving people memories they carry home: a puppy discovering his favorite little spot, a friendship with a sweet donkey, and the comfort of feeling welcome. We’ll remember those things long after we’ve unpacked.

This property is beautiful and well worth a visit. I highly recommend this! The host, Mark, is super communicative and helpful, making the whole process seamless. Also they have a snack shack with eggs from their chickens, plus other go-to essentials. This site is awesome.

This campsite was everything we hoped for-one of the best we've stayed at in our many years of camping. It's private, beautiful, spacious.Just amazing! We and our pups had a blast playing in the cool creeks. Mark went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. In fact, we had to run out to the store when an unexpected storm popped up. We had left our tent top off and it was completely opened up. We rushed back to try and beat the rain only to find Mark already there putting the top on our tent. So thoughtful. The cute little Snack Shack was great for ice and snacks. And we enjoyed seeing all the animals on the farm, especially Braxton, the friendly donkey.

This was our first Hipcamp site, it will be very hard to beat. Very private with a creek. Our dog was allowed off leash for our stay. Mark took the time to give us a tour of his very large beautiful property. Can’t wait to do it again.

This is a large mostly private field with shade around the edges. Theres a clean pit toilet and an amazing bubbling creek with water that got deep in places. Our dogs loved every minute of their special off leash weekend!! You can buy ice, fresh eggs and candy with cash or venmo (by request) at the little stand. The only wifi available was at the little stand by the street (the silence was much needed).
We did struggle trying to communicate initially due to the lack of satellite connection so be sure to download your directions before leaving home and familiarize yourself with the area as much as possible.
The owner is friendly and accommodating!
Id recommend this place to anyone looking to disconnect!

Our family of 6 had a great time! Mark and Angie are great hosts, and their campsite was a joy to stay at. The creek is certainly a highlight, and we enjoyed the wide open area and privacy the Hipcamp offered. Mark was gracious enough to take our kids around to see his animals, show them how to pan, and answer all of their questions. The farm store is also perfect! It was always stocked, the prices are very reasonable, and it was super convenient to grab a snack, ice cream, or a bag of ice whenever we needed. Highly recommend this little spot!

My family and I had a blast camping at carney creek! There was plenty of room for our 15 person crew to setup all our tents and everything. The creek is beautiful as well. Loved hearing all the birds in the morning. Would definitely camp here again. And the hosts were great!

My friends and I enjoyed our camping trip on Mark's land. Would highly recommend it. Mark was a great host. Was there when we arrived to show us the land we would be using and also checking on us throughout our stay there. His shack he has there is great thing to have. Especially for those hot days when you need some ice or ice cream. I enjoy having the noise of a creek when camping so having the small creek close to the campsite and the bigger one across the road is amazing. If you fish make sure to take some fishing poles. We didn't know about it and wish we did so we could fish. We'll definitely be coming back to this site for sure. Thank you Mark!

My Family and I absolutely loved our stay at Mark's property..The Creek and Swimming area were great and there is also alot of Great area's to Adventure around near by(we had our 4 wheelers and side by side(YES, Plenty of room to park your vehicle with a trailer)Just be Curtious!..Mark is a very pleasant and helpful host and really wants your stay to be a good one..Great personality!! He has a very nice and well stocked Snack Shack for Ice, Candy, Soda, Chips, or even a cold Ice cream on a warm afternoon, which was nice after Hiking around or Swimming..My Grandchildren loved to walk down and visit Marks animals as well.. We will definitely be returning visitors in the future!!

My new go to camp

I dont know where to start on how wonderful my trip was. I arrived and Mark helped me set up my tent (I was there alone with my three dogs) and also helped me set up a run line for them. Dogs are allowed off leash so I took advantage of that too. There is endless space to explore and its quiet and private and beautiful. There is endless miles of creek to explore and one spot is great for swimming (dogs and people). The water is crystal clear. The views from the field at sunrise and sunset are breathtaking, and Mark and his wife go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have what you need. They even gave me five more gallons of drinking water. The bathroom is also super clean too. I spent an entire day sitting by that swimming hole with my dogs alternating between drawing, reading, and swimming with the dogs. For almost a week I felt my stress melt away and didnt have an ounce of anxiety and was so happy and relaxed. I will 100% be back here again and again.

This is truly a gem of a Hipcamp. The property is beautiful and private. Can't rave enough about the Snack Shack and having that available. The property is very expansive and we didn't even begin to truly explore it all. There's a composting toilet that is clean and dry, plenty of firewood for morning and night campfires, and plenty of usable and clean water available. The only thing is to understand is that this is a mountain property and the large campsite is on a slight slope so plan appropriately for your tent set ups. You can also tell that Mark genuinely is proud to make his property a great spot for visitors and it shows in all of the work he puts into it.

Great experience! Mark was communicative from the start, suggesting directions it just for us coming from NC but also for our family coming from TN. He was super flexible when our arrival time changed, and even started a fire for us before we arrived!! (I mentioned sitting by the fire was s priority for us) The area is delightfully remote with creeks and a river and Mark's farm animals nearby. Highly recommended.

From the minute we arrived, Mark was there ready to show us around & help with anything we needed. He brought us firewood, home grown peppers & homemade pickled jalapeños. He had water for us there, as well as a fully stocked “market” where we bought chips, ice & popsicles. The spot was perfect for our group of 5. We had plenty of room, a picnic table & a fire pit. I would definitely stay here again & recommend it to anyone looking for a private camping experience close to the Smokies.

This site was perfect for group… not only was it private, but Mark was super proactive in preparing everything for our stay. It’s always nice to meet new and welcoming people, and it’s so clear Mark and his wife take pride in what they do. Be sure to visit the snack shack for farm fresh goods and super reasonably priced snacks of all kinds.
The property is so large and beautiful. The fact you can walk to swimming holes or just relax by the fire makes it ideal for all types of camping.

I loved camping on Marks' land. It was very peaceful and private with plenty of room to spread out even if our group size had been larger. The swim hole was beautiful and refreshing. The small creek running along the campsite was so peaceful to fall asleep too. Mark was an excellent host going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Be sure to check out his little "Snack Shack" as well he has great prices and keeps it well stocked with a variety of drinks, candy, ice, souvenirs, and farm fresh eggs (as available of course). I would highly recommend this site to anyone....if I could've stayed longer I would've.

Mark was an excellent host! So friendly, attentive, helpful, communicative, welcoming, and has some beautiful land. Huge clearing for campers and we had it all to ourselves. Swimming hole on the property was beautiful! Rained the whole time we were there basically but no flooding in the clearing and we were still able to have some fun and relax in the tent.

Carney Creek was amazing! The property has all of the space you could ask for, with multiple fire pits, a small creek (alongside which we decided to set up camp and got some of the best sleep we ever have on a camping trip), and access to two swimming holes on a larger stream. Mark was an incredible host and was very hospitable. He made sure we had plenty of firewood, water, and that the bathrooms were clean. Mark also has a small farm stand on his property (which is adjacent to the campsite). It was extremely convenient to grab things like ice or eggs (he even keeps a freezer stocked with ice cream).
We had a great time and would stay again if we find ourselves in the area!
