Our family of 6 had a great time! Mark and Angie are great hosts, and their campsite was a joy to stay at. The creek is certainly a highlight, and we enjoyed the wide open area and privacy the Hipcamp offered. Mark was gracious enough to take our kids around to see his animals, show them how to pan, and answer all of their questions. The farm store is also perfect! It was always stocked, the prices are very reasonable, and it was super convenient to grab a snack, ice cream, or a bag of ice whenever we needed. Highly recommend this little spot!

My family and I had a blast camping at carney creek! There was plenty of room for our 15 person crew to setup all our tents and everything. The creek is beautiful as well. Loved hearing all the birds in the morning. Would definitely camp here again. And the hosts were great!

My friends and I enjoyed our camping trip on Mark's land. Would highly recommend it. Mark was a great host. Was there when we arrived to show us the land we would be using and also checking on us throughout our stay there. His shack he has there is great thing to have. Especially for those hot days when you need some ice or ice cream. I enjoy having the noise of a creek when camping so having the small creek close to the campsite and the bigger one across the road is amazing. If you fish make sure to take some fishing poles. We didn't know about it and wish we did so we could fish. We'll definitely be coming back to this site for sure. Thank you Mark!

My Family and I absolutely loved our stay at Mark's property..The Creek and Swimming area were great and there is also alot of Great area's to Adventure around near by(we had our 4 wheelers and side by side(YES, Plenty of room to park your vehicle with a trailer)Just be Curtious!..Mark is a very pleasant and helpful host and really wants your stay to be a good one..Great personality!! He has a very nice and well stocked Snack Shack for Ice, Candy, Soda, Chips, or even a cold Ice cream on a warm afternoon, which was nice after Hiking around or Swimming..My Grandchildren loved to walk down and visit Marks animals as well.. We will definitely be returning visitors in the future!!

I dont know where to start on how wonderful my trip was. I arrived and Mark helped me set up my tent (I was there alone with my three dogs) and also helped me set up a run line for them. Dogs are allowed off leash so I took advantage of that too. There is endless space to explore and its quiet and private and beautiful. There is endless miles of creek to explore and one spot is great for swimming (dogs and people). The water is crystal clear. The views from the field at sunrise and sunset are breathtaking, and Mark and his wife go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have what you need. They even gave me five more gallons of drinking water. The bathroom is also super clean too. I spent an entire day sitting by that swimming hole with my dogs alternating between drawing, reading, and swimming with the dogs. For almost a week I felt my stress melt away and didnt have an ounce of anxiety and was so happy and relaxed. I will 100% be back here again and again.

This is truly a gem of a Hipcamp. The property is beautiful and private. Can't rave enough about the Snack Shack and having that available. The property is very expansive and we didn't even begin to truly explore it all. There's a composting toilet that is clean and dry, plenty of firewood for morning and night campfires, and plenty of usable and clean water available. The only thing is to understand is that this is a mountain property and the large campsite is on a slight slope so plan appropriately for your tent set ups. You can also tell that Mark genuinely is proud to make his property a great spot for visitors and it shows in all of the work he puts into it.

Great experience! Mark was communicative from the start, suggesting directions it just for us coming from NC but also for our family coming from TN. He was super flexible when our arrival time changed, and even started a fire for us before we arrived!! (I mentioned sitting by the fire was s priority for us) The area is delightfully remote with creeks and a river and Mark's farm animals nearby. Highly recommended.

From the minute we arrived, Mark was there ready to show us around & help with anything we needed. He brought us firewood, home grown peppers & homemade pickled jalapeños. He had water for us there, as well as a fully stocked “market” where we bought chips, ice & popsicles. The spot was perfect for our group of 5. We had plenty of room, a picnic table & a fire pit. I would definitely stay here again & recommend it to anyone looking for a private camping experience close to the Smokies.

This site was perfect for group… not only was it private, but Mark was super proactive in preparing everything for our stay. It’s always nice to meet new and welcoming people, and it’s so clear Mark and his wife take pride in what they do. Be sure to visit the snack shack for farm fresh goods and super reasonably priced snacks of all kinds.
The property is so large and beautiful. The fact you can walk to swimming holes or just relax by the fire makes it ideal for all types of camping.

I loved camping on Marks' land. It was very peaceful and private with plenty of room to spread out even if our group size had been larger. The swim hole was beautiful and refreshing. The small creek running along the campsite was so peaceful to fall asleep too. Mark was an excellent host going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Be sure to check out his little "Snack Shack" as well he has great prices and keeps it well stocked with a variety of drinks, candy, ice, souvenirs, and farm fresh eggs (as available of course). I would highly recommend this site to anyone....if I could've stayed longer I would've.

Mark was an excellent host! So friendly, attentive, helpful, communicative, welcoming, and has some beautiful land. Huge clearing for campers and we had it all to ourselves. Swimming hole on the property was beautiful! Rained the whole time we were there basically but no flooding in the clearing and we were still able to have some fun and relax in the tent.

Carney Creek was amazing! The property has all of the space you could ask for, with multiple fire pits, a small creek (alongside which we decided to set up camp and got some of the best sleep we ever have on a camping trip), and access to two swimming holes on a larger stream. Mark was an incredible host and was very hospitable. He made sure we had plenty of firewood, water, and that the bathrooms were clean. Mark also has a small farm stand on his property (which is adjacent to the campsite). It was extremely convenient to grab things like ice or eggs (he even keeps a freezer stocked with ice cream).
We had a great time and would stay again if we find ourselves in the area!

This campsite was incredible! Beautiful land and plenty of space. The swimming hole was so fun and refreshing, the snack shack has the best prices around with farm fresh eggs, ice, and great snacks as a cherry on top. They’ve thought of everything to make this a great campsite. Mark and his wife are exceptional hosts. They invited us to their Fourth of July celebration, and Mark was more than willing to help us with whatever we needed. Genuine kindness and hospitality that made this trip all the better. Definitely recommend!!

My group and I absolutely loved staying at Mark and Angie’s property! It was incredibly clean, peaceful, and very private — honestly, it could easily accommodate up to 30 people. There’s plenty of space for parking and setting up tents, which made everything super convenient.
The amenities were great: an outdoor toilet, water provided for washing dishes, and Wi-Fi available just about 100 feet from the campsite. The directions they gave us were clear and very helpful, making it easy to find the place.
One of the highlights was having access to two private swimming spots on the property — a perfect way to cool off and enjoy nature. Mark also runs a small shop on-site where you can grab fresh eggs, ice, and snacks, and he even supplies firewood, which was a huge plus.
If you’re in the area and looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway in a quiet and private setting, this is the spot! Huge thanks to Mark and Angie for an amazing experience — we’ll definitely be back.

Bottom line up front: would we go back? In a heartbeat! This place was fantastic! We had 8 adults, 13 kids, 1 dog, 6 vehicles (Jeeps, Power Wagon, Toyotas, etc - all Offroad vehicles) with 3 Offroad trailers - and we still could have brought more. This sore had PLENTY of space. We were in the area because of some of the off road trails nearby (and if you are looking for the same, this place is ON Rocky Top Rd - one of the best rails in the area. Couldn’t have been better for setting up base camp and going to play on the trails during the day. The kids LOVED the river spot. They played in it for hours (bring tubes! Great tubing spot). Traffic was not overwhelming, but there was a few passing through here and there throughout the day. One group of side by side riders came through Friday evening but it was only around 7pm and that was about it for people going on the trails. Mark, the property owner, is the best! He truly wants to make sure you have a fantastic stay. If you need something, just ask. He is more than willing to help than you are to ask. He even has a road side stand set up with snacks, eggs, ice cream, ice, etc at INCREDIBLE prices (nice to see in a day where everything costs so much). Heads up - bring bug repellent. You’re staying in a field and there are all kinds of bugs. We pulled off over a dozen ticks. But, that’s part of camping. Just something to be aware of. But back to the first statement: would we go back? If I could, I’d pack my bags today to go back.

It was by far one of the best stays we have had. We had 5 over landing vehicles and a total of 23 people. Mark was an incredible host! Offering to help set up and making sure our stay was enjoyably. He made sure we knew where to take the kids tubing and fishing. And telling us about his little store for eggs, candy, drinks, ice cream and bagged ice. Mark is down to earth and he genuinely cares about his guests. The site was huge giving us more than enough room to spread out for tents and vehicles. Mark’s property is at the mouth of Rocky Top Rd which was extremely convenient to our off road trip. We will definitely be back! It was over all a great stay and the kids had a blast!! Thanks again Mark!

Mr. Marks camp site was super cool definitely will be going back lots of quiet free roam space to enjoy wish we would have stayed a week didn’t have enough time to explore everything… Mark was super gracious to us the whole time helping out with all our needs… For our fam it was a much needed communal get away to get grounded from our normal life’s would recommend to anyone one that is respectful to and embraces all of the qualities of solitude and nature and enjoys the ambiance of the Appalachia mountains thanks again Mr. Mark was a good weekend for us

Mark’s property was the perfect camping spot! He gave easy to follow directions. Mark met us at arrival and pointed out a level place for the camper with the babbling creek right beside us. He led us on a short walk to his “secret” swimming hole and told us about other hikes we could take to nearby waterfalls! We didn’t expect these fun adventures nor expected to make a new friend in Mark! He was the best host and had everything prepared for our stay with clean water for washing and drinking, a convenient and clean outhouse, a large garbage can, plenty of firewood, two fire rings, and a picnic table right next to the creek! And I must mention our kids’ favorite part was walking to Mark’s snack shack after their hike to buy a cold slushee ice pop!
