I loved the location and the sky. I'm a female solo camper and felt very safe. The site felt relaxing despite being by the highway. The structure and field give you a sense of privacy away from the highway. (I'd consider this semi-private.) Since I arrived late and had food in the car, I chose to sleep near the road, though I could have camped in the field. (I considered the field, then considered that bears would like my midnight snacks.) You'll hear some traffic, but traffic isn't heavy at night. There was a structure on site to block some traffic lights. This site is easy to get to off the 26, a big plus if you're driving at night. It's only one exit away (about 5 minutes) from Mars Hill shopping and pubic library. It took me about 20 minutes to get to Asheville. I car camped, didn't get to creek, but enjoyed the morning view. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend this site if you're in the area.
Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Road noise during the day, but quiet at night.

I didn't walk away with a great experience after the owners in laws randomly showed up to the site. As a woman camping alone with no time to prep my dog, that left a nasty taste in my mouth. We left early after that.
I don’t have many negatives to say about the campsite. Trail to the creek and fire pit are well kept and beautiful, as well as the main parking. I didn’t expect it to be so close to the highway but that was fine for the price.

You would think a location so near a main road would be noisy and lack privacy, however, this spot was the opposite of that! We stayed in our campervan while attending a local festival. We weren’t there much during the day and evenings were peaceful. You can find shady areas near the parking area and by the creek. We brought a market tent to increase the shade options. Beautiful mountain view and the host was accommodating and responsive throughout our 6 day stay. We would stay here again!
This is next to the highway BUT it is very quiet and Dark so bring a flashlight or light source.
I enjoyed staying again and would recommend.

It was sooo nice having the entire area to myself. The beauty and peacefulness of the creekside fire pit makes you not care that the RV spot is kinda close to route 19 (although once those Green Giant trees grow in the highway will be blocked out). Joel was an excellent host and super nice guy. I extended my stay after one night. I'll definitely be back!
