Wonderful getaway
Very peaceful location, orchard house was quaint and relaxing, we felt comfortable during our stay, our two dogs enjoyed walks on the property. It was great place to unwind and decompress. James was very helpful and kind, it was a great experience, we’d love to return sometime!

We had a magical weekend at the Orchard House! The house itself is beautiful, warm, and cozy — and James‘ & his family’s land is a dream. So peaceful and full of life! We had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway from our busy lives — we really did not want to leave.

Clean and easy to get to! Beautiful place with a fun trail around the land. We loved playing lil house on the prairie with the wood burning stove. 10/10 recommend thanks!

Can't wait to come back for longer!
James' cabin and land far exceeded anything we could have hoped for! The house is so sweet, and has absolutely everything you need. The cabin is cozy and warm, the outhouse/composting toilet is incredibly clean, and waking up to the birds and cows up on the hill was so peaceful. We can't wait to come back and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you again James and Sofi!

Such a cozy and warm place!
Such a cozy spot! It’s just as described/pictured and the hosts were able to accept us in very last minute when our trip plans shifted so we are very grateful for that! We visited in the winter and the heater did a perfect job keeping the space nice and warm. James was a great host and even checked with us offering to leave on the lights on for us if we arrived after dark. The outhouse was also very well maintained with great instructions about the composting toilet. The cows were also a super cute bonus!

Cozy cabin for chilly adventures
We had a great time in the Orchard House! It was a cute little cabin for keeping warm on colder winter nights while exploring the area. Great location to make it to trails, parks, and scenic drives in the WNC area.

Great Views in a Cozy Cabin
Hilltop Cabin at Raven Ridge provided such a pleasant stay! Being that it's in top of a hill, the view from every window is rather breathtaking. And the cabin itself is so adorable and cozy, plus it's well-heated for those cold winter nights! And one of the best parts is that it was all SO close to downtown Asheville, that it made experiencing nature and one of my favorite new cities very easy to do all in one day. But I definitely want to come back and experience both in the spring/summer!

My husband and I stayed in the cabin with our tripod boxer. We absolutely loved the charming little cabin and are already planning our next trip back. My favorite part was cooking on the cast iron stove!

Hilltop Cabin at Raven Ridge
Idyllic mountain top sanctuary.
My dog and I stayed at the Hilltop cabin after a concert in Asheville, it was very serene and delightful. I wasn't quite prepared for the cold weather, however the inside of the cabin was very nice and toasty warm. Our hosts went above and beyond and offered possible assistance with towing out my car (from where I foolishly got it stuck on the steep driveway, arriving late at night.) I would advise to be cautious if you arrive at night after a recent rain and are in a 2wd vehicle. Other than that little hiccup the property is just astounding and so very quiet and peaceful. I should have booked to stay for several days, and will in the future. The hosts were so gracious, I was invited to take a bath in the beautiful claw foot tub in the other rental cottage, so as to avoid the elements. It was divine and I am so thankful!!

A must stay!
James’ place is truly a special place! We had a rainy and cold weekend and it could not have been more perfect. We enjoyed cooking all of our meals in the kitchen, we had everything we needed!! The house is decorated so thoughtfully and welcoming, we were cozy the whole time. Some of my personal favorites were watching the sunset from the window behind the bed and in the morning you can see the sunrise from the right side window, truly incredible! If you’re an early riser I recommend sitting at the fire pit for sunrise also, the view is spectacular. We explored the property and enjoyed seeing the cows at the dairy farm! Getting in the claw foot tub at the end of a cold, rainy day is heavenly. We loved everything about our stay, the only time we left was to go to the grocery store (which was 10 mins away). I was slightly nervous about the outhouse but it was a lot more comfortable and pleasant than expected! I would stay here again!

Simple living
My wife and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary this past week. We spent 4 nights in the hill top cabin, very peaceful and simple. Used the wood burning stove to make our dinners most nights but yet close enough to have romantic dinners in ashville. One of my favorite parts was the view in the mornings for the sunrise. James gave us some vegetables from the garden and was very attentive if we needed anything. We will definitely be coming back.

Healing vibes
We loved our stay at the Orchard Haus. I especially enjoyed all the special touches put into the rustic aesthetic. We slept like babies both nights with the cool air coming through the windows. We made yummy meals with the fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed one of the homegrown peppers from the farm. It’s an easy distance from Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Great glamping getaway!

Hilltop Cabin at Raven Ridge
lovely mountain hideaway
This serene mountaintop spot was one of the most relaxing places I've been in a long, long time. The hosts were there if you needed something, but did not intrude in any way. The cabin was very comfortable, and my two dogs were able to run around freely to their hearts' content in the fenced space without disturbing the workings of the farm (which I was worried about). I ate my breakfast one day with a hummingbird whirring and hovering inches away. Magical!
During my stay, I was in and out a lot, visiting with nearby family, but I would love to come back just to stay, even with Asheville (a favorite place for me) beckoning from a few minutes away.
One word of caution: the cabin's position at the top of a hill means a short hike upwards on steps built into the hillside, and the ground can get a little slippy in the rain. Did not affect my pleasure in any way - just something to note.
