Welcome to Flowertown Charm Off-Grid Treehouse with Highland Cows Visit our IG @flowertowncharmoffgrid for pics and videos & tours, savings, and the highland cows! Please read everything, as this place is not your typical place, it’s an off-grid experience! Winter Stay Notice (November–March) ❄️🌲 If you’re booking between November and March, please read our winter notes before reserving. Winter at the treehouse is a true off-grid, rustic camping experience and may not be for everyone. The Treehouse Escape to a custom-built, 100% sustainable off-grid treehouse on 23 private wooded acres in Western North Carolina. Perfect for nature lovers, adventure seekers, dog parents, and those looking for a romantic retreat. This unique stay offers long-range mountain views, an eco-friendly design powered by solar energy, a cozy wood burning stove, and fresh mountain spring water. Enjoy an exhilarating outdoor shower and a flushable composting toilet with a scenic view. Thoughtfully designed with handcrafted woodwork, a charming kitchenette, copper finishes, and plush organic linens, this treehouse takes glamping to a whole new level! Meet the Highland Cows Guests have exclusive access to our adorable Highland cattle herd: Moonshine, Martini, & Mojito. Their pasture is steps away from the treehouse. These friendly “cocktail cows” love attention, and you’re welcome to pet, brush, and feed them treats as often as you like. For the Love of Dogs We built this treehouse because of our love for our dogs! It has a fully fenced yard, about 1/4 acre, a custom gate at the top of the stairs to keep them on the deck if needed. In the spring-fall there is a magnetized screen on the doors so they can go in and out without bringing bugs with them. All our trails are dog friendly. Dogs especially love hanging out under the treehouse where the dirt is cool and soooo many smells to explore. Doggy paradise! We do require dogs to be over 1 year old and NOT be left unattended. The cows aren't a fan of dogs, even our own dogs, don't take it personal, instinct reminds them of coyotes, but there are fences separating them. So no worries! Location & Nearby Attractions Located in Canton, NC, near Waynesville and just west of Asheville, the treehouse sits at an elevation of 3,100 feet, rising to 3,700 at the ridge. Explore nearby trails, visit local farms and markets, or dine at charming restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, the scenic Pigeon River, and fly fishing. The property itself offers peace, seclusion, and the option to disconnect completely from the world. Sustainable & Thoughtful Design We designed the treehouse to be both luxurious and environmentally conscious. Every detail, from the organic bedding to the handcrafted furniture made from local and salvaged wood, was chosen with sustainability in mind. The kitchen features a propane cooktop, a beautiful copper sink, and all the essentials for off-grid cooking, including a cooler for food storage. The Off-Grid Experience While this retreat is beautiful, it’s not for everyone! Off-grid means off the power and utility grid while feeling secluded. Expect some wildlife, rustic charm, and an eco-friendly lifestyle. There’s no A/C, and power is limited to essentials like lighting and phone charging. Hair dryers and other high-energy appliances won’t work here. If you love nature, sustainability, glamping, and a peaceful escape, you’ll feel right at home. Wildlife & Safety Being surrounded by miles of forest means encountering wildlife is possible. Guests have spotted deer, bears, coyotes, bobcats, and more. Be mindful of food storage, use the provided bear-proof trash bin, and make your presence known while exploring. Safety is key, but there’s no need to worry—just be prepared and enjoy the experience! This treehouse isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an opportunity to experience sustainable, off-grid living in the most magical way. Whether you’re hiking, relaxing, or bonding with the Highland cows, your stay will be one to remember! Moo! Our wifi isn’t super fast. But staying off-grid we hope you embrace disconnecting! ☀️ Summer Notes: In case you missed it above, there is no a/c, there is a ceiling fan, and shades. We suggest on hot days you close the shades and go adventuring, cool off in the river, do tubing, during the heat of the day. Just like you would camping in a tent. If you are heat sensitive we suggest booking a different time of year...Do Not leave a dog or child unattended at the treehouse this time of year whatsoever!  We highly recommend heading down to Sunburst Swimming hole, or just one of the pull offs along the Pigeon River to cool off or go tubing! Or even filling the garden bathtub with water to cool off in during your stay!  Cold mountain tubing is also super fun in the summer!  The Riverbend campground around the corner has day passes to their river access as well.  ❄️ Winter Stay Notice (November–March) Winter at the treehouse is a true off-grid, rustic camping experience and isn’t for everyone! To prevent freezing, the water lines are shut down, so the shower and faucets are unavailable. We provide 5-gallon water jugs for drinking, cooking, and cleaning, along with rinse-free bathing wipes to help you stay fresh without running water. The toilet functions when temperatures are above 20°F, and a backup porta-potty is available just in case. Our main heat source is a wood-burning stove, adding to the cozy, rustic mountain experience. Winter rates are lower to reflect these seasonal changes and reduced amenities. If you’re seeking a true off-grid adventure and love unplugging in nature, this is it! 🌲🔥 If running water and traditional comforts are important to you, we recommend booking during another time of year. We Provide: 55L Cooler, toilet paper, paper towels, towels, bedding, robes, sound machine, coffee & filters, pour-over setup, kettle, dishes, mugs, soap, sponges, dishes, corkscrew, utensils, can opener, cooking pans, salt, pepper, oil spray, lantern, first aid kit, matches, lighters, fire starters, propane grill, charcoal grill, grill tools, marshmallow sticks, & axe. We do require guests to e-sign our rental agreement that we will email to you, and request a $300 security deposit hold (not a charge) that we will release upon checkout. This is just a precaution for us letting people we don't know stay at our place and respecting it.This primitive off-grid 100% sustainable treehouse located on 23 private wooded acres in WNC, is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, adventure seekers, nature lovers, and hopeless romantics + dog parents! If the long range mountain views weren’t enough already…the treehouse is powered by solar, heated with the cutest tiny wood stove, water collected right from the mountain, exhilarating outdoor shower, and the coolest homebiogas toilet with a view!
