We've been waiting for so long for our trip to Waterfall Heaven, and when our time to pack was getting closer, the weather was showing rain for the whole week we were supposed to be there... That was a little discouraging because we camp with 8 dogs and 2 crazy boys in a tent and I was worried everything will be way too wet and dirty and cold but I was not going to let this gem of a place go 😂 and what an amazing beautiful and serene place this spot is! The weather didn't matter, we had fun and the boys were in the water every day (even in 48°f), the dogs had so much space to run and sniff and explore and we even got a chance to do some activities in nearby towns (Stumphouse Tunnel in nearby city of Wallhala, SC and Foxfire Museum near the campsite was amazing)!
What saved us was the fact we were able to put our 10x18 tent under the huge wooden gazebo right by the waterfall (you need to remove the tables first and they are heavy!) and that kept our tent dry inside and out. The cooking area under the smaller gazebo was perfect for us preparing meals in the rain (we've put one of the tables there and were able to stay dry while eating).
The hike up the hill to see the bigger waterfall is worth the view and not having cellphone reception or internet at the campsite was the best break I secretly wished for 😂
We have another trip booked in March 2026 and I'm hoping I'll be able to also score a week in summer 2027! Thank you DeeDee for having us!

Fantastic place to stay. Area is well kept by the owners. Fall asleep to the sound of the river. This place is large and can handle a very large group or you can have it all to yourself. There is a hike up the hill to a beautiful waterfall. It's not an easy path, but it's worth it. Highly recommend this camp, you won't regret it!

I’ve been bringing my family here for the past few years, and it’s a great property that we always look forward to returning. Dee Dee and her son maintain the property well (grass is always cut, trees appear safe, and shelter and bathrooms are always clean), and I’ve never been disappointed with our stay. Word to the wise: If you have a camper you might want to park up top vs next to the bathrooms, because the apple tree you park under will drop palm-sized apples on your roof in the Fall.

We absolutely love this place!! We have been twice now and this last time we took friends with us and they were blown away. We will definitely be planning a third trip soon to take our grandchildren. The seclusion, the waterfall, right outside of town, it's all great!

Everything about the site is great! The waterfalls, rocks and grassy areas. The facilities at the site are wonderful as well. Two large covered areas, one with a grill area. A large firepit area (wood provided) and even a bathroom. All areas were clean and well kept. The location is very private and the only thing you hear is the water over the fall and down the stream.

This was our third trip and it won’t be our last. Despite some travel issues not related to the campsite we totally enjoyed our time here. The weather was a bit rainy one day, but it did not detract from beauty and ambience. Deedee is always helpful and so easy to work with you as you plan your trip. We loved the small additions/improvements from our previous trip, especially the beautifully carved bears. You don’t want everyone to know how special this place truly is because it’s already so hard to get it booked. But you can’t really appreciate the awesomeness of this place unless you experience it yourself. Thank you DeeDee and family for sharing it with us. And I’m already counting down to my next visit.

Completely private and absolutely beautiful. When have you ever camped right beside a waterfall? This land is so special and convenient. The family obviously poured much love into it over the years. It’s pretty self contained so the dogs can run off leash, just have to watch for them to duck behind some large rocks and disappear. The flushing toilet and sinks on site are a big plus. There are lights you can use at night around the pavilion and a great grilling area. Many benches to sit on to enjoy the multiple water views. We loved it and are forever spoiled for the perfect camping spot!

As all other reviews have indicated is beautiful. We waited a year for our reservation and can understand why it’s so popular. Beautiful, private, and great location.
Lots of seating areas, many table spaces, good fire pit, and we didn’t use it but amazing large charcoal grill under a pavilion.

If you like your privacy while you are camping, then this is the place for you. Five acres with a creek, including water falls that spill to a sliding rock that flows into a natural wading pool. There is a covered Pavilion area with five picnic tables underneath. There is also a cooking Pavilion that includes a huge fireplace that has a fit pit attached for cooking large amounts of food. Also there is a regular charcoal grill as well. The bathrooms are clean, however they did not have hot water ? They should also consider putting in a least one shower. Overall we had a perfect time, and DeeDee was the perfect host. There are plenty of electrical outlets and pool lights has well. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves to the fullest, and can't wait to return next June 2025. Which was as soon as we could book a trip ? Until then we will hope for some more cancellations to fill.

This place is beautiful. So nice to get away. Everything we needed was shown to us by the host, including restroom (no shower or bath, but we had a camp shower), outdoor sink, spigots, fire pit, dry wood ($5/bundle), shade, sun, tables, broom, benches, counters, grills, grill brush, lights that can be turned off. We enjoyed the waterfall, swing, pavilion, boulders, and plenty of space. All I would suggest is to be able to close & lock the gate on our own. It was recommended that we close the gate at night, but it was stuck in the ground & we didn’t have a shovel. There’s a small Georgia Power building just outside of the gate & 2 men with a Georgia Power truck were working outside the building for a couple of hours, then I noticed they were inside the gate on the camping property near the restroom without asking if they could enter the property. When I confronted them to tell them this is private property, please leave, they insisted they had to work and were pointing farther into the property. We felt unsafe and the whole point of going there was because it’s supposed to be secluded. They asked if I wanted to call the police (note: we had no cell service out there). I told them we wouldn’t be there the next day so they could come back then and again said this is private property, please leave. Finally they agreed and left. The rest of the trip was wonderful. Thank you for sharing this amazing place.

"We had an amazing few days at the Waterfall Camp—pure magic! It was the perfect family getaway with our teenager. The campsite feels private but is still close to downtown Clayton and other attractions if you're looking for something to do. We wanted to unplug, and with no cell reception, it was the perfect place to disconnect.
Although we had some rain and colder weather than expected, the two pavilions made for a cozy spot to hang out. If you're up for a challenge, the 15-minute hike to the large waterfall is absolutely worth it—it’s breathtaking! Even the waterfalls and areas around the camp are stunning.
The bathrooms were spotless, which made the stay even more comfortable. Dee Dee, the host, was so kind and answered all of our questions. We’re already looking forward to our next visit—just need to find an open date since the site books up quickly!

I don't want to keep telling people about this place but then I end up doing it anyway. 🤣. It lessens my chances of getting in. This is my favorite spot to camp. Something about it is very special and calming. I love the water around the property and my kids always have a blast. Over the years going it would be nice if somehow there could be a shower added down by the toilets but that's the only thing missing.
