Located in the tranquil, natural woodlands of our historic family farm. There are 30 acres of hiking trails with remnants of what once was an 80 acre old fashioned family tobacco farm. There are plenty of level areas covered in lush grass and surrounded by trees as old as dirt! The Honeymoon Sweet provides an indoor experience. It was built by my Uncle Frank who cut the wood off the land and milled it into the lumber he needed to make this unique, rustic space. There is a rock fire pit with lots of easily accessible firewood. You can hang out and enjoy mother nature or visit one of the many local tourist attractions like Pilot Mountain State Park, historic Mt Airy with it's charming small town hospitality, Hanging Rock State Park in the Sauratown Mountains affords breathtaking views, hiking trails, waterfalls and fishing. If you are a history buff, we are just a short drive to Bethania a National Historic Landmark, Historic Bethabara founded by Moravians in 1753 or step back to the 18th century at Old Salem home of the famous Winkler Bakery and Salem Tavern that provided lodging for George Washington in 1791.

William Cornelius Vineyard is a 50-acre private working vineyard and farm that includes 6 acres of Vineyard, 15 acres of corn/soybean fields, and 15 acres of forest. Stony Knoll’s Rose, made from our Chambourcin, won the 2022 NC Best Rose. There are three wineries within a couple of miles, and 20 more wineries within a 30-minute drive. There are 3 must-see / hike state parks within a 40 minute drive: Pilot Mountain, Hanging Rock, and Stone Mountain. The charming town of Mt. Airy (Mayberry RFD from the Andy Griffith Show) and Elkin are within a 20 minute drive. The Yadkin River is only a few miles to the south at the quaint village of Rockford, and is popular for kayaking/tubing, fishing, and swimming. There is a tubing/kayak outfitter located there, along with an old general store with old-time candies, sodas, and a simple grill.

Weekend Trip to Mystic Meadow Farm Glamping.

My girlfriend, dog, and I had a stellar time at the mystic meadow. We went for a long weekend early October and used it as a HQ to got to Woods of Terror and explore Mayo state park. From the personalized note with information about the area to the beautiful trails on the property. The experience exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t have had a better stay. Plus the decor really shows off that Wendy has a great sense of humor that really immerses you into the camping spirit. If you are debating staying here and need a sign HERE IT IS! You will not be disappointed.

Host Hannah is gracious and always quick to respond to any questions and Host Doug is very welcoming and helps us feel at ease being on the property each time we have stayed. Bent Creek is very private and the surroundings are majestically picturesque with all the gorgeous trees, and farm atmosphere. Just enough space to walk our dogs and enjoy the peace and quiet. Also, very easy to park our 35 ft. Super C andJeep. Bent Creek is definitely #1 on our list.

The view is pretty spectacular given it isn’t too difficult to get to. Super tidy site and the firewood was dry and caught right away. Great for a one night stop for us as we were traveling through the area. While we had it all to ourselves, we heard lots of barking dogs and motorcycle revving the night we stayed. Who knows, that would bother me even if I was at home!

Weekend Trip to Hidden Oasis At High Rock Lake

Very cozy little campground in a great location. There are only 4 sites and I had site #3 which was the best—more secluded and had a nice flat pad for a small tent and a fairly level parking pad to the side. I car camped and just parked on the slightly sloped driveway. I am used to dispersed car camping so the clean, outdoor (enclosed) shower and flush toilet were nice amenities. The campground is heavily wooded with a nice treetop canopy so there was plenty of shade. It must have rained just before my stay as it was just a little damp when I went the last weekend in September but there is enough gravel laid down to mitigate the dampness except for on the actual tent pads. There were no bugs to be found anywhere during my stay. The location is secluded behind a residential area across the street from the lake and was very quiet (except an owl hooting) with very little road noise. Full cell service was available from Verizon. There is a Dollar General very close by in case you forgot anything. I drove into Salisbury for a day excursion and there is plenty to do there: good BBQ, historic sites and a nice downtown to stroll. One of my favorite things about Hidden Oasis was the little communal hangout hut complete with refrigerator, sink, charcoal grill, darts, cornhole, patio bar with stools and picnic table. The hosts were welcoming and responsive. Had firewood and starter waiting for me with a little gift that was a nice touch. Would highly recommend this place to anyone with or without kids. I could see it being a great place for a small family reunion, church group, guys or gals weekend or any other small group looking to book the entire campground.

Weekend Trip to Mystic Meadow Farm Glamping.

First time booking here and I have to say this is the cutest place! Absolutely loved being able to prop the wall up and let nature in, walking the trail and relaxing to the sound of the creek. My furbaby also enjoyed himself being able to roam free, chase squirrels and explore. Wendy is one of the best host I’ve ever had, she goes above and beyond with communication throughout your stay to make sure you are enjoying your stay! I know this was my first time staying but it will not be my last. Thank you so much Wendy for creating a wonderful vibe and magical glamping place! Weekend Trip to William Cornelius Vineyard

A relaxing stopover between Stone Mountain and Pilot Mountain state parks. We made use of the grilling grate on the fire ring and had a memorable picnic table dinner overlooking the vineyard. The site was private with room to roam for our dog and two littles. We did not see the host but communication was prompt and clear in the lead-up. Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven.
