Really convenient spot for hitting hanging rock and even pilot mountain. Very quiet, directions were consice and place was easy to find. Campsite was mostly flat and had a solid fire pit and table with easy access to trash and porta potty

Beautiful spot, next to a meandering creek and mature trees providing shade. Perfect for exploring Hanging Rock. Off the beaten path, but easy to find.
We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was peaceful, secluded, clean, cozy, and surprisingly roomy. It had everything needed for a couple’s stay, and we comfortably made it work with three kids and our dog by bringing a few extra items. The kids loved exploring the property, and the sunrise behind the cabin (to the right) made for the perfect morning coffee view.
The only thing to note is the driveway, just as the listing mentions. It’s a steep, pebble-covered hill, so a 4WD vehicle is definitely recommended. Our Tahoe in 4WD had no issues at all, while our Prius needed a little momentum to make it up.
If you’re looking to unplug, enjoy nature, and relax around a campfire, this place is a wonderful getaway. We’d definitely stay here again!

The site was great. Close to Danbury and Hanging Rock and within yards of a small stream. Owners were unobtrusive and process was simple
This was a great place! It was so peaceful and felt very private. Our dog had a great time running around in the woods (though we did have to pull a few ticks off of her later!) The place was very thoughtfully prepared, with bedside tables, a small table, and plenty of cookware. Outside there were chairs around the campfire pit and a picnic table. Plenty of water for drinking and washing. Would love to stay here again!

This truly is a special spot. I spent a week here in late June with our 33’ travel trailer. I was by myself for the first half and then my wife and elementary age kids joined me. It is quite seceded and very peaceful. We were really taken with how numerous and active the fireflies were. As the pictures show, the massive camp spot is pristine and the freshly mowed grass was like plush carpet. There was an old charcoal grill that probably doesn’t have much life left, but it was a delightful bonus since I was able to grill on it 3 nights without having to assemble my portable grill. The fire pit is huge and in a perfect spot. Wood was available about 50 yards from the fire pit, covered under a shelter and ready at any time with an honor system cash box for a great price ($5/bundle). A spotless commercial level port-a john was beside the wood supply and has a night light, TP, and hand sanitizer (For RVers there is no place to dump tanks so plan accordingly).
Perhaps my favorite feature of the site was the small mountain creek running the entire length of the site. I put a hammock right near the edge and ready for hours to the steady bubbling water passing by.
There are pens with chickens and small pigs across the meadow and our kids really enjoyed watching them. They even named the pigs. We got to meet Darin and Beth once when they were tending to the animals and they were incredibly gracious and welcoming. The night sky with a full moon and dazzling stars was perfection.
The Marshall Creek Cabin was secluded and peaceful. It was all set up so minimal supplies were needed. Decor was simple and inviting. Darin was very responsive to my questions. There was a nice trail to walk, and a fire pit for the evening to relax by. There were solar lights both outside and inside. The is no AC/Heat and it is clearly advertised . We came prepared with a battery operated fan. Luckily for us we had cool weather nights in mid June so we slept in comfort. We saw the owl house hanging on a tree and actually heard it at night.
There is a shower (no hot water unless you heat it over the fire) and a portable jon both just 20-30 steps from the cabin.
I would highly recommend this site to anyone. I will hopefully return. It was the perfect getaway for my husband and myself.
This is an elite campsite, and we had an amazing stay. We had everything we needed, Beth and Darin were very accommodating, and we were lucky to meet baby pigs. This was our Basecamp for hiking in Hanging Rock SP, and it exceeded our expectations. Simply put. Stay here. We'll be back.

Nice space. Having the water spigot, porta john, picnic table and fire ring all there was great. Good sized open meadow to camp in and a beautiful little stream were peaceful. Good spot to explore Hanging Rock State Park from. We enjoyed it!

I loved staying at the cabin. Very pretty, private and peaceful. Host was quick to respond to messages and helpful. Beautiful countryside with many outdoor activities. Would love to stay again!

I really enjoyed tent camping on Darin & Beth’s land.
Me, my husband and a pup stayed at Darin & Beth’s cabin for two nights. It was absolutely perfect! The cabin is super clean, everything you need is provided. A lot of privacy and space for the dog to run around! We are already planning when to come back!

Loved this spot and even chose to extend my stay. All the grit of camping but with the added luxury of having a nice place to sleep! Will definitely be rebooking soon! Was able to access the spot and turn around in my ford transit van with a rack on top.

Such a beautiful meadow in the middle of the forest. Super close to Hanging Rock State Park. And had electricity and water! Can't be beat! Darin even brought me eggs one morning from his flock of chickens. The fireflies were flickering all evening. Definitely a good place to stay!

It was conveniently located. Better organized than I expected. This is a perfect escape For a nature loving couple.
Absolutely amazing! Had everything we needed and nothing we didnt for some simple primitive camping in a cabin. Fair warning my lil Toyota Corolla did have trouble going up the gravel driveway (entirely my fault, just realized after getting home my tires are almost bald and have no tread/traction) but Darin & Beth were incredibly helpful and were kind enough to assist us and was still able to make it to the cabin 😊 cannot state enough how magical this place is, it was so quiet and peaceful. Thanks Darin & Beth for your kindness and awesome hospitality, cannot wait to go back! 🫶🏼🏕️🔥

We had a great time camping on this property, which is very close to Hanging Rock. Darin and Beth were communicative and very helpful in the time leading up to our stay. The pasture is large and open and quiet, with a fire pit and water spigot and a nearby creek to listen to at night. Even better, we were lucky to have a clear sky for stargazing. Amenities like gas, ice, and groceries are around 15-20 minutes away.
Darin and Beth didn’t miss a thing planning this hilltop cabin. The gravel driveway is steep but we had no issue climbing up to the site in a Ford Transit 250 2wd loaded heavy. Our height clearance is 9’9”. All we can say is it was a super well thought out layout and includes just enough to simply pull up and start camping in minutes. Lots of extras to discover as well. Our dog loved it. We camped at end of March so trees were still bare and the night sky was visible.
We found this site to be very peaceful and just what we needed. Everything was as pictured and advertised. Fortunately had a very clear star-filled sky to enjoy both nights as well. Would be willing to camp here again in the future.

Great spot, excellent for star-gazing. Loved hearing the babbling brook behind the site and enjoyed the excellent well-maintained campfire spot and the trees were hardy and well-spaced for hammocks. Waking up to the roosters was super nostalgic and a great surprise to score some eggs too. Felt very private and safe; the porta potty was extremely clean and a nice touch with the light for nighttime. Would recommend making sure you have all your groceries/water/etc before you arrive to save you a trip into town-we stuck around the campsite, but seems like a perfect jumping off point for Hanging Rock state park.

This is a wonderful cabin getaway. The grounds were well kept, the cabin was comfortable and Darin was so great deal with. It is close to Hanging Rock SP which was a plus. I would definitely stay here when I’m in the area.
We had so much fun! Thank you to Darin & Beth for hosting such a sweet little cabin in the woods. Very well equipped, and a beautiful property - and super close to Hanging Rock and Pilot mountain! Definitely would recommend!
