Troutman is a very quaint southern town very close to Mooresville, NC. It is smack in the middle of Charlotte and Hickory! So you can enjoy the mountains or the city or both from ONE LOCATION!! We are within driving distance to Lowe's Motor speedway and very close to many race teams located in Mooresville.
The downtown of Troutman is a short drive from your camp spot and there is a grocery store, drug store and many privately owned restaurants, including Italian, German and amazing fried chicken at Julia's! There is an ice cream parlor too!! Another wonderful asset to Troutman is Daveste' Vineyard where there is live music often, and of course wine tastings! This beautiful vineyard is less than 10 mins away.

Update on Fire ban: I spoke with the forest ranger of Yadkin County, and You ARE allowed SMALL campfires for cooking and heating purposes only. No bonfires. Charcoal and propane grills are OK too.
Please respect our land by not bringing firewood from off-site and burning it here. We are a working farm that allows camping, not a campground. Our native trees and crops could easily be devastated by outside diseases or pests that are carried in firewood. We offer firewood for sale from our farm (delivered to your site for no additional fee). You do NOT have to purchase it prior to your arrival, and we have large tubs too!
Our STORE offers firewood, meats, eggs, Tallow, lard (both rendered right here!), drinks, Amish ice cream and jams/jellies/preserves, hammocks, hammock chairs, smoked dog bones, soaps (made right here), rentals of: cast iron cookware, a tent, Coleman stove, fishing poles, ... and MUCH MORE!
Please note that all our sites are reserved with a one vehicle limit. Some sites are large enough to accommodate additional vehicles but each additional vehicle will incur a $10 per night charge. Free parking for additional vehicles is located at the office/store.

The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣

In this 40 acre track there are 2 hay fields, pasture, and forrest. From any area you camp🏕 the pond🏞, with fish, is in walking distance, so is a beautiful clear stream.
****Did I mention that this stream empties into Lake Tillary, yep, that is right. We are within walking distance to Lake Tillary and less than 5 mins to the boat landing. You may bring your boat and park it here while you camp.
SPECIAL NOTE: There are animals here that you may pet once you have been properly introduced. You may bring your pets as long as they are vaccinated and behaved. If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. Our County does have a leash law, and should property🌱🌹🌻🚜🚗📬🗑or animals🦌🐂🐏🐐🐰🦃🦆 be damaged or harmed you will be held responsible. For example, if your dog kills a chicken, you buy the chicken🐓🐔🐥. If they harm a horse🐎 or donkey🐴, you are responsible for ALL vet fees. Also, be aware we have coyotes, osprey, hawks, as any rural area does. Small animals must be suprevised. We are not responsible for acts of nature.
The barn is beautiful and you are welcome to take photos, however, you are NOT permitted in the barn without supervision. Absolutley NO smoking or fire near the barn. It is over 100 years old and built by my great grand family and is irreplaceable.
SPECIAL FEATURE:
As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services.
#1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way.
#2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL
#3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle.
#4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs.
MAJOR POINT:
You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first.
You must abide by the boundaries. *see map* The creek is the back boundary and should never be crossed onto my neighbors. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my neighbors, what so ever.
No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you.

We have 50/30 amp and water hook up (hose from the house). The site is a back in site beside the outbuilding in our side/back yard. Please don't pull thru in yard back in from field. If you are traveling and just need a place to stay for a night/two or looking for a quite place for a vacation to the area. We are 2 miles from Interstate 77 mile marker 82 and 2 miles from all kind of restaurants and attractions loads of winery's within 30 min drive.

We loved tent camping at Harmon Creek Farm! The campsites are very well spaced out so there is a lot of privacy. The owners are very welcoming and communicative, and all of the food we bought from the camp store was delicious and made from animals they raised on the farm!

We didn't even have to leave to see beautiful things. campsite was well maintained, and the covered porch was nice because it rained all morning the second day there. Very convenient to use the tables for our camp stove and sitting under the cover.

We had the camp part of the farm all to ourselves. We wanted peace and quiet and we definitely got that. We chose to set up on the short grass nearer to the house rather than in Hayfield 2., where the grass was a good bit longer. We loved the clucking, crowing, and braying and feeding the horses and donkey.
We also had a great time exploring the small towns nearby, found some great restaurants, and checked out the state park and national forest areas which are close by. There are endless recreational possibilities within a 20 mile radius!

the campground was excellent. sites werent too close together. they also had chairs,tables, trash cans, pits, a hot shower, toilet, and a pavillion with lots of extras for groups/families. the site has a nice grass tent pad area, and was also able to find a good hammock spot. there was subtle lighting along the paths and the facilities. the bathroom also had lighting. there was cell signal too. all for a very reasonable price at the time I stayed. nice camp that was clean, well situated, and lots of extras that showed the work the owners have put into it. without charging hotel prices some do for a campsite. would stay again.

We had a great time camping at this site. It’s easy to find and tucked away in the woods so very private. The site is quite spacious with room to spread out and a nice peekaboo view of the foothills. Big stone fire pit, multiple seating options, and 2 picnic tables. There is a large, flat, sandy tent pad and other flat areas for more tents. Nice loop around driveway for large vehicles. We did not try the bathroom amenities but they looked well maintained and a nice gesture. Looking forward to another stay here!

The site was very nice. The fishing was epic. My son caught a massive large mouth and a monster catfish. We probably caught 80+ fish in 3 days. Plenty of 1-2lb bass. We also caught bull frogs at night. Such a nice property.

I liked the meadow. While you don’t get the nice creek side like the other sites. it was pretty set back and nice setup and very private. Worked out for our group with multiple tents. Definitely get the big bucket of firewood. We bought sausage from the little shop and was great for breakfast. There was a porta potty right near the site or you can walk 10 minutes to the nice bathroom or drive. Kids played on the plsygrojnd and did a little fishing. We didn’t end up doing the farm tour but that looked fun. There was a lot of rain and road was pretty muddy but we were able to get our minivan in and out.

My husband and I booked this location for a night stay before heading to the Uwharrie National Forest. A few pros, I loved the setup, double deck, the tent was roomie (once inside, I’m 6’2 so getting in and out was a little tricky with the ropes right at your face), a very wooden walk to the site(not onsite parking as stated, you are walking about 470’ ft to the campsite (bring a wagon if you have a lot of “stuff”), the view in front of the spot was beautiful! Now for the cons, I want to be as kind as possible when stating the doggie daycare was a bit interrupting our nature (peaceful) getaway. If you’re not used to dogs barking, you will hear them at the tent site . The bathroom has no light and when we arrived, there was enough TP for one bathroom trip(thankfully we had backup). The door to the bathroom was tricky / very hard to open. I was a little upset when I noticed the hammock chairs were no longer part of the setup. I was ready to relax in the swings, my husband was going to set up my hammock but there was only one hook at the old swing site. Again, these are our cons. The pros did outweigh the cons and we were thankful for our stay. It did storm the night we stayed, the tent had a very very small leak at the top so thankfully nothing happened during the rain storm and we stayed dried and safe. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

It was peaceful and quiet during the week. Sandra and Randy were damn near immediately responsive for requests. I will absolutely be back again. Also site 4 is a beautiful place to bird watch!

Amy's property was great. Relatively private, great shade and relaxing. We will definitely stay again when coming to the Charlotte area.

Great secluded spot in the beautiful countryside, and it's set back a quarter mile from the road that has regular traffic, so hardly any road noise at all, we did hear a train in the background with this relaxing Water and electricity as promised, and the gravelpad was level. While walking our dog we got to see guinea fowl, horses, chickens, turkeys, lots of wild birds Definitely would stay again in the area, host was great!
