The site was perfect. Firewood provided, River access for swimming, sounds of the river and fire cracking helped me sleep peacefully. Definitely recommend and am already trying to find dates for a return visit

Riverside Beach Camp
Tara's land is a nice combination of easily accessible and private. Campsite is just as pictured, and we enjoyed swimming in the river. When a thunderstorm rolled through, Tara reached out to make sure we head everything we needed -- which was such a nice touch. Would definitely return.

I liked tent camping here because of the access to the river and the private scenery. It was good for hammocks and tents plus was very close to go to Hanging rock state park. Will definitely be back!

We had an absolutely horrible experience at this site. Beginning with the check in time on the listing stating 10 am, when en route with an ETA of 12:00, I texted the host and she replied saying that check-in time was 3:00 and she’d have to figure out how to meet us early. After realizing the website was incorrect, the host was able to meet. I did notice that the listing has been updated now with a later check in time, so future visitors shouldn’t run into that problem. But it was a scramble that started things off rattled.
The host met us at the entrance of the site. They stated they brought a box with fire starter down and put it on the table at the site.
When we got down to the site, there was a dead animal feet from the table. The state of decomposition shows it had been there quite a while. Due to the location of the rotting meat, and the smell there is no way the person who brought the box down didn’t notice.
Additionally, the water was inaccessible. Steep embankments made it unsafe for children, something I had even messaged back and forth before booking to ensure the river access was safe. The pictures are very deceiving.
After about 5 minutes, we left. Half of our party started their journey back home, while we scrambled to find a new place for our remaining 2 nights of our vacation.
I left the site in tears. Thankfully we found a new place to stay, or it would have ruined the trip. For a tent site, the value of the site does not match the cost. :(

It was really beautiful and secluded. Great location next to the river for those who want to fish, wade, or just play on the banks.

Tara and Ken kindly responded to our last-minute request, and the site was awesome. If you want to drive all the way down to the site, you’ll definitely want 4x4 and ample ground clearance. Great spot right on the Dan River, plenty of space for the three tents and kitchen that we set up. Glad we were able to stay there.
