Surrounded by a dense canopy of mature timber, the property provides six well-spaced camping sites designed to deliver privacy, comfort, and a true outdoor experience. Each campsite borders a 3,500-foot stretch of spring-fed creek frontage and accessed by an all-weather graveled road. Most sites are suitable for pull-behind & fifth-wheel campers, horse trailers, and RVs. Direct access to the Mountains-to-Sea Trail’s Sauratown Trail Section 7, a 25 miles long public trail that connects Hanging Rock State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park makes this an exceptional destination for hikers and horseback riders alike, with public trail access available seasonally from January through October. Every campsite includes two 14' x 14' tent pads, a fire pit ring, and a picnic table, with the exception of Site 1, which includes only one tent pad, and Site 4, which includes three tent pads. A porta potty is available on site and serviced every two weeks to help ensure a convenient and comfortable stay.

This place officially raised the bar for my glamping standards! I spent the night here with my 12-foot teardrop camper and couldn't have been happier. The campsites offer the perfect amount of space and privacy, the tent pads are completely level, and spending the evening by the crackling fire pit next to the rushing creek was pure bliss. Side note for tech users: AT&T service was flawless out here. I streamed a whole movie without a single second of buffering! I’m already planning my next trip back.

What a great time at the Creek Campsite! My family and I capped off an amazing day of hiking and kayaking at Hanging Rock state park by setting up campsite on Creek Camp. The tent pads were right by a brook and offered a built in sleep sounds for our crew. The grounds offered tons of hiking and exploring opportunities for my kiddos and we capped off the night with smores in the firepit provided. Perfect opportunity to unplug, pitch a tent and enjoy some time with family without distractions. Bathroom access was a huge plus. Will hopefully be back soon!

If you’re looking for a peaceful tent camping experience in the Sauratown Mountain area, this campground is a hidden gem. The sites are tucked into the woods, giving you plenty of privacy and a true back-to-nature feel. The highlight is the beautiful creek that runs alongside the campground. Falling asleep to the sound of flowing water and enjoying coffee by the creek in the morning made for a relaxing getaway. The campground is simple and rustic, which is exactly what we were looking for. The tent sites are well-spaced, shaded, and offer easy access to nearby hiking opportunities in the Sauratown Mountains region. The surrounding forest creates a quiet atmosphere where you can disconnect from the busyness of everyday life. The location is also convenient for exploring nearby attractions like Hanging Rock and Pilot Mountain, both part of the Sauratown Mountain range. The combination of mountain scenery, creekside camping, and peaceful surroundings makes this a great spot for families, couples, or anyone wanting a classic North Carolina tent camping experience. We’ll definitely be back for another weekend under the stars.

This camp is a perfect spot! Right on the creek. Very quiet. There is firewood for you and a very clean outhouse. Nice little swimming hole also. My family and I have been 3 times and can’t wait for the fourth. John was extremely helpful and a great host.

This is spot on what we were looking for in a campsite, and it delivered on all fronts. Our site had real privacy with genuine separation from our neighbors, thanks to the mature forest and the way the sites are spaced. It seemed like this was true for the other sites we saw while exploring. This was a quick overnight, but it had what we want camping with two young'uns. They could roam a little without us worrying we were on top of anyone, and we could actually hear the creek instead of other families next door (ahem Stone Mountain ahem). It looks like there's creek access at every site and it was the highlight. We spent several hours just sitting by the water. The kids would've stayed all day. We also got out on the trails, which connect from the property. Ferns, wildflowers, stuff I can't ID... everywhere. Spotted deer, a turkey, heard owls, and saw a couple of hawks. Being tucked between Pilot Mt and Hanging Rock makes it an easy basecamp if you want to explore, we stayed close. Host set this place apart. He's a licensed forest man or something and seemed to know everything from the flora and the fauna and local terrain; great for us, not being as familiar with any of that! Thorough ahead of arriving, generous with info, and clearly someone who knows and cares for this property deeply. Met 2 other fams, 1 with all the kids, everyone having a great time. Bonus: even had better service than at home! We'll definitely be back for a longer stay. This is a special spot.

One of the most scenic campgrounds we've ever been to. The campsite is nestled between elevation and is just steps from a babbling creek (slept great). The kids loved climbing the rock outcroppings and exploring. They even found a 'cave' that sits over a tributary stream (spring fed) of the campground creek. Several of the campsites were booked, which initially caused some concern. But there was good distance between the other families and you could enjoy privacy without much effort. In our case we met another family and ended up really enjoying their company. Nick (the dad) was hilarious and told the best campfire stories. All in all a perfect trip! Kids loved it and I loved that they loved it. While we didn't extend the trip, I really want to go back for a long backpack/camp and appreciate that the property connects to the scenic Mountain-to-the-Sea trail.

This trip was great. Camp site is easy to get to from the highway but feels remote. Close enough to civilization to feel comfortable but rustic enough to feel like we got away. The picnic tables are new and sturdy, fire pit rings were good sized and good proximity to the site. The sites were spaced far enough away to not feel crowded at all. The stream alongside the site is nice for rinsing off and to hang out and read. Great stop on our way west to break up the drive. Cell service was good. Site was clean
