Beautiful RV site or camping site with 50 AMP Electric, Water & Sewer Hookups, a light weight metal table with 4 chairs and Fire Pit on the French Broad River. The site is pull-in onto either concrete pad or gravel pad (your choice) from a paved road. The site is 35ft x 53ft. The StarLink reception is strong at this site as reported by Hipcamp campers. French Broad Sunset is only 3 minutes to downtown Marshall, NC. Peaceful setting with amazing vistas on the river with the gentle whitewater rapids, wildlife, and stunning sunsets. Hipcamp campers can fish off the property (432 ft of river frontage). Lots of close outdoor activities (hiking, white water rafting (Section 8 and 9), tubing, horse back riding, bicycle, motorcycle and ATV rentals close by, guided fishing and hunting), yummy restaurants (fine and causal), regular music events, fun shopping, local brewery, and many ongoing local events. Marshall has a Super Ingles (groceries), and a natural food market (Madison Natural Foods). Bring your fishing gear, canoe, raft, and SUP (French Broad River on Section 7) to use right at the site. Playground 1/4 mile easy walk from site. Site is on a dead-end road in a quiet, peaceful setting. Peaceful spot by the river

This was the perfect place to rest and reset, but still central to much of Western North Carolina. We visited Burnsville, Black Mountain, Montreat, and, of course, Asheville. AnnT was an extra accommodating host and (virtually) checked in often to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We did! A few things to note so your stay is as awesome as ours: The land is right on the road, but the neighbors were all super friendly and gave us our privacy. We set up so we faced the river and the sunset views. We only interacted with the neighbors occasionally and usually just a friendly wave as they drove by. We almost let the geese spoil our stay. When we arrived, there was goose poo in the very spot we wanted to put our tent. We took a dog poo bag and picked up around the areas where we wanted to set up our tent. But there's a large tract of land, so you may not have our situation if you choose another spot. And once we got the area cleaned up, the geese didn't come back during our stay, but we got to watch them often--in the water or at a neighbor's plot. It was pretty impressive to see a whole flock of geese swim down river. The mosquitoes and gnats were absent during the day. At night, they tended to swarm the lights but mostly left us alone at the fire pit. If you don't already know, Ingles sells great firewood! Don't let that firepit go unused. Enjoy your stay.

This was such a gorgeous spot on the river. The spot was well maintained and had a nice concrete pad for us to park the RV on. We are new to RVing and had such a beautiful experience here. We loved kayaking the river each day, and also enjoyed the proximity to Asheville. 10/10 would come back again.

Nice spot right on the river. Pad was level, had hookups and dump. Table and fire pit available. Lots of geese around and close to small town with little shops and good coffee.

My stay at French Broad Sunset was perfect! I loved waking up by the river. The site was level with a concrete pad. It's a full hookup site but I only needed electricity. Ann was a great hostess and I hope to spend more time on the river.

This is a very peaceful and beautiful place to land close to Asheville and lots of other delightful towns. There are neighbors across the street but did not diminish our experience at all. Very quiet. Bring your fishing pole! We enjoyed watching water fowl.- a little duck made friends with us. We really enjoyed the Mad Co brewery - sitting upstairs watching the river go by. We will be back asap!

This was a beautiful site right in the river. The scenery and sounds will not disappoint. The quaint town is fun to stroll, shop, eat, and stop in at the brewery. I would recommend this hipcamp for sure. We hope to return!!

Spent several very special days at French Broad Sunset; it is truly a beautiful site on the river with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the rippling water and gorgeous sunsets. The close proximity to Marshall makes it easy to grab supplies or food, take a walk through town or enjoy local music. On this trip, I camped by myself and felt completely safe. I can't wait to return!

Fantastic Riverside Retreat

French Broad Sunset was the ideal basecamp for our long weekend escape. Days were filled with exploring Marshall's charming food and arts scene, or enjoying outdoor adventures on the river and in the mountains. Evenings were spent relaxing on the riverbank. We had a wonderful stay.

What a great place to camp. It started with booking, which Ann responded immediately. After the booking she sent a lot of information about the surrounding area: restaurants, a brewery, things to do locally. She was in constant contact through email, providing needed info the day before. The campsite is located on a river, maybe 30 yards from the river bank so listening to the river was very relaxing. The site had full hook-ups, was nice and level and was very pretty and quiet. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a great visit. Ann made check-in and check-out a simple process and was always quick to respond. It was a wonderful experience being so close to the river and enjoying the sound of the moving water while sitting by the campfire and early in the morning.

What a fantastic stay we had! Right on the river, plenty of space, and everything we needed for our 35ft skoolie. We had strong signal for our personal Starlink, and our dog loved walks along the river. Close to Asheville, but the real gem is downtown Marshall. It’s minutes away and has great food, live music, shopping, and fun coffee shop (we even popped by the Saturday open mic). French Broad Sunset simply does not disappoint.

We had a wonderful stay at French Broad Sunset! The location was perfect for some events that we attended in Asheville, and for doing some fishing around Hot Springs area. We enjoyed the location so much that we came home and booked another stay for later in the year. Ann was very accessible for questions that we had, and provided information regarding things to do and see in the area. Highly recommend it!

Our stay over Thanksgiving was wonderful! Will definitely be returning in summer to enjoy the perks of being right on the French Broad River. The host are also wonderful with great hospitality. Site is level and very easily accessible.
