Back in the day this was all farmland. I purchased this property in 2019 and have been busy developing it. I’ve build a chicken coop, installed bee hives and I have Nigerian dwarf goats. There is a farmstand that opens seasonally. The property is about 6 acres of flat land with several great spots to camp. Across the road is our private forest about 40 acres. Great for hiking and Moutainbiking Learn more about this land: We are conveniently located next to the NY Thruway exit 19 & 209 Highway yet super secluded and in nature’s paradise adjacent to the Sawkill River and across a large private Forrest. There is some road noise from Sawkill road & the Thruway dependent on the spot you choose to set up. If your’e tenting you can be in the woods way up in the forest, but most campers prefer our spot near the Sawkill River. I have fire pits, common outdoor furniture & a gasBBQ’s that can be used. There is chickens, bees & goats & 2 guardian life stocks dogs that live with the goats. I also have a small Terrier & a farm cat.  A lot of outdoor activity with bird watching, bunnies, deer & the groundhogs say good night. It’s rural yet only 10 minutes to Kingston uptown and about 20 minutes to Woodstock. About 1 hr from Hunter & Windham Mountain resorts and 45 minutes to Belleayre Ski. We also have a wood fired oven and offer pizza making classes as well as catered meals.

We have two Rustic camp areas and a third area offering a pitched Glamping Tent with accommodations. Great location, not the most isolated spot due to it being located right off the road, but the amenities and the convenience of them are fantastic. Walking up to the river roaring is a lovely feeling, unfortunately I did not have the time to do some fishing, but I know the trout were calling my name! Have to stop by again!

Lovely place and lovely management,super helpful. Decks overseeing the river were hightlight. We wished there was availablity. Clean updated bathrooms. If you are into fishing it might be the perfect place. We werent but still enjoyed it. There is reception so u can use ur phones( i had to use for work) . No need to buy firewood etc from outside.

This campground was a total surprise wasn’t sure what to expect when I first booked it. When I first reached out to them they couldn’t have been nicer. Showed up and everything seemed to be very well kept. New water and electric the decking was a nice touch with the gravel. The bathrooms are very well kept and clean, the owner just seemed like they couldn’t do enough for you. The campsite rest on the beautiful river full of trout. I will be returning for sure, very please.

We had such a special weekend camping on Robert's land. Pictures don't do it justice. It is jaw dropping beautiful and very private. Robert is the best hip camp host we've ever had and we've used hip camp for years. He is reasonable, flexible, and very considerate. The outhouse is extremely clean, and he provides firewood for purchase, a fire pit, wash stand for dishes, and a wood countertop perfect for your camp grill to sit on. The location is primo with lots of cute little towns around and hiking trails right off his property. We are definitely making an annual trip here.

The valley was such an amazing place to camp at. The amenities were clean. There was plenty of distance between the sites to feel private. We will definitely come back to camp! PSA vehicle with decent ground clearance is highly recommended and there is no cell service once you drive past Phoenicia.

Tent site #2 at Balsam Gleann Meadows was a great campsite for my group. Located in the center of a huge field surrounded by mountains - what a peaceful spot! The weather was perfect, cool/dewey at night and sunny during the day. I imagine if it was super hot or windy, campsite #2 would be a bit too exposed. We had our own fire pit, the pit toilets were close by and had a hand wash stations, and the showers were clean and private. The drinking water was a bit far from the campsites, but you pass by when you drive in/out. I'd recommend bringing a jug to refill water. The host, Robert, came by to check on us a couple times to see if we needed anything. He also suggested some things to do in the area and we loved visiting Otter Falls at his recommendation. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would definitely camp here again.

Beautiful and well taken care of property with the mountains in the background - remote enough where you can feel disconnected, but still have amenities like running water, outhouse, etc. Spent 3 nights and felt like we didn't need to leave the property - there were trails and a creek/stream nearby that we dipped our toes in. Owners are super kind too! Plan to come back again :)

Weekend Trip to Vonsaladfarm

Alexander’s campsite is nestled in a back lot of his farm/cidery/pizza oven farm. This man seems to do it all. He raises free range chickens, goats, and even has a few friendly guard dogs keeping a watchful eye on the flock. Located through a series of mowed paths in the back of his property - you can see the house but even so we never felt like we were in anyone’s way. We had a fire pit, a few tables, and were about 100’ and a winding path away from the river. The fireflies and thick tree canopy kept the site dark and fun at night. Alexander was a responsive host always answering questions. He let us fill water from the spigot by his home. He even gave us some farm fresh eggs in the morning. A sweet guy! Only draw back - if you’re looking to feel like you’re out in the middle of nowhere this isn’t the spot. You can hear the highway all night long.
