3 nights at SoHi Campground

We spent the July 4th weekend at SoHi in upstate New York, and absolutely loved it! The campground was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by stunning natural scenery—perfect for a relaxing holiday escape. The vibe was laid-back but welcoming, and you could tell the owners really care about creating a great experience. Everything was clean and thoughtfully set up, from the campsites to the shared spaces. Whether we were sitting around the campfire at night amazed by the number of fireflies , or just enjoying the fresh mountain air during the day, it felt like a little slice of summer paradise. We’ll definitely be coming back again—already talking about making it a yearly tradition! Highly recommend SoHi to anyone looking for a cozy, scenic spot to unwind and reconnect with nature. Special shout out to Rob! Thank you for being so helpful and friendly during our stay!

Weekend Trip to SoHi Campground

We stayed two nights last weekend and had a great experience. The host was responsive and answered our questions within 30–60 minutes. The campground was easy to find, and the host was very friendly and kind. We were assigned a beautiful, clean spot next to the creek. The toilets and bathrooms were also clean. Our kids enjoyed the playground, and there are plenty of hiking paths nearby. Overall, we had a very good time and would happily come back.

3 nights at SoHi Campground

Had a great time RV camping. Hookup was good and the hosts make sure you’re all situated. They helped us back in and made sure we were able to hook up to everything. There’s good space between you and your neighbors. Showers and toilets were very clean and the upkeep was good. The staff is good about making sure the bathrooms stay clean. People play music and enjoy themselves but it’s still nice and quiet in the evening. Met other campers and most people were friendly. Would refer others to camp there and I would return.

Weekend Trip to The Hidden Chalet, Roscoe, NY

Joseph was a great host and has a great property with plenty to do. My son and I fished in the pond, went swimming in the stream, and explored the woods. Definitely had a nice stay.

Weekend Trip to Peace And Quiet in the Catskills

My mom, our dogs, & I loved our stay here! We were looking for a quiet, peaceful place to spend our long weekend and this met all our needs. Set back from the road surrounded by woods with trails to explore, a clean and maintained outhouse, and a wonderful host who greeted us, showed us around, provided local recs, provided water and wood, and created a great experience. Also close to awesome hiking and swimming!

Locust Grove was such a magical place.. the sounds of the water and the numerous birds singing their songs with a few sounds of coyotes over the hill you couldn’t ask for a more serene getaway !! We definitely took advantage of the privacy !!! Felt like we were 16 again!!! Will definitely be coming back!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Val was very hospitable. Good communication. Site was nice, private. Bathroom facilities nearby. It was great being able to walk over to the winery. Good wine, drinks and food.

Weekend Trip to The Campsites at Oak Lodge

My partner and I last minute wanted to go camping upstate, and this was a great option! The hosts were very sweet, helping us get acquainted and answering any questions about the area we had. They provided recommendations of things to do around town (including an incredible swimming hole about a 5-minute walk away) along with dinner recommendations in town. They had a bonfire the night we stayed and offered us pizza and sparkling water which was really kind! The area is close to a lot of beautiful hikes and waterfalls. Would recommend if you want a calm city escape!

An amazing find! Very safe, clean and peaceful environment. Scott is extremely helpful and communicative. There are hammocks, firepits, as well as games. The bathroom is also clean. Would definitely recommend!

1 night at Peace And Quiet in the Catskills

My husband and I stayed at the RV campsite which was lovely. Very quiet, clean, and secluded. We left very early so didn’t have a chance to explore much, however we plan to definitely come back! James was easy to reach and gave some helpful tips for our stay.

What a great little set up! John was super helpful before arrival, the tent was well outfitted with everything we could need and he was sure to check in throughout our time. It was our first camping trip as New Yorkers and I would def return!

Weekend Trip to Sacred Waterfall & Quiet Retreat

We LOVED this trip! The camp was exactly as described and the host was very detailed in the directions which helped a lot. There were really nice added touches like a water bowl for our dog, fire grates for cooking over the fire, an area to hang the bag for showing, and the pillows/blankets already there. We hiked down to the waterfall the first morning we were there and it was incredible. We were the only ones there which made it so special. We went with our 2 year old daughter and although the water was a bit chilly for her she loved exploring and throwing the rocks for our dog. We had her in a hiking backpack because although it was a short hike, the host wasn’t kidding about it being steep.. but the ropes tied along the hill definitely helped a lot. We became frequent visitors of Barbers farm stand down the street and picked up a few fresh veggies to grill. Make sure you ask them about their vodka. We also hiked Vroman’s nose which is down the road and it was a nice easy, well groomed trail. We hope to be back soon to visit and explore the area some more!

Great stay at Scott's private backyard campsite. They provided potable water and firewood which was much appreciated and generous. Very approachable hosts, but also left us to our space. Parking was a small walk, but they provided a cart to walk items back and forth easier. Would stay again!

3 nights at Locust Grove Waterfall

We had a wonderful time staying at Locust Grove! The property is beautiful and well maintained, complete with whimsical trails leading to the camp sites. The camps are ideally situated on the bank of a lovely stream complete with swimming hole! The tents were spacious and clean, (we even had power!) and Monica was very responsive to any and all questions/ quieres. We will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed our one night stay here! Outhouse was very clean, with water to wash your hands. Walking around was a little wet, but we camped up on the hill and were very dry. Dogs loved running around the field - just make sure to check for ticks (they’re bad everywhere this year).

Weekend Trip to Burr Oaks Forest secluded campsites

Fantastic secluded location. Highly recommend. A frame was very comfortable and easy way to enjoy the property. Would recommend backpacking mindset when packing or take the ride up (and back) if you want all your camping comforts.

Weekend Trip to Big Indian Wilderness Paradise

We had an amazing time staying at John and AC’s campsite. It was incredibly spacious with amazing views of the surrounding Catskills. Having a beautiful creek to wade around and cool off in was a fantastic feature that we utilized frequently. The proximity to several great hiking trails was a huge plus as well. If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Catskills then this is one of the best.

Big Indian paradise was amazing. You’re in a secluded spot, with lots of space and there’s also a creek nearby we bathed in the creek and it was so refreshing. It with all the necessary amenities and John and AC even provided us s’mores. The hosts were very sweet and accommodating upon arrival. The area is great as you can hit up some local trail spots. There is no Wi-Fi or cellular so if you’re looking to completely get away this is perfect for you. The beds were comfortable to sleep in. We’re a group of six and it was the perfect size for us. This camp site will always hold a special place in my heart as it’s where we got engaged! We did get a thunder storm one of the nights but luckily not much for wet since we set up a canopy over the cooking area. Definitely recommend brining a canopy for shade and rain.

We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed. Terrace Farm is a multi-generation farm on 160 wooded acres of Tremper Mountain located on the outskirts of the Hamlet of Phoenicia in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. World class fly fishing on the Esopus Creek, private hiking trail to overlooks of the Esopus Valley and historic rock quarries as well as several public hiking trails including the Long Path are all within walking distance. The Campsites at Oak Lodge

The Campsites at Oak Lodge are located on an historic property in Palenville, New York which once hosted vacation cabins, lodge, and a tavern before it was turned into a private home. It now offers a camping experience in a wooded area with mature trees, but close to several amenities in the hamlet of Palenville. It has easy access to the main road. Each campsite includes a generous space to pitch your tent and a fire pit. There is a communal area shared by both the Bluebird and Barn Owl campsites with a picnic table, drinking water, a small gas grill, hammocks, and a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. There is an outhouse and wash-up area for all campers. The two acres provide both a wooded area and a large grassy space. Although set back far from the road, you will hear some vehicle noise and there are nearby streetlights. Oak Lodge is one mile from Catskill Park trails leading to the wilderness area including North and South Lake. It is between sections 22 and 23 on the Long Path. You are a mile to a wine and spirits shop, and a quaint but hip general store that offers breakfast and lunch. There is a one bedroom cottage also available for rent on AirBnB. See “The Acorn” at Oak Lodge in Palenville, NY. When visiting: 1. Park near the entrance of the main house and use the wagon to bring your gear to the campsite. (Do not park close to the little cottage attached to the rear of the house as there may be guests there.) 2. There are wild animals in the area (raccoons, possums, bears, deer, fisher cat), so be sure to store your food far from your tent (preferably in your car). 3. Potable water will be in a very large igloo thermos at the communal area. Water for washing up is available near the pit toilet. 4. Bring your own toilet paper, soap, etc. 5. There is firewood and kindling. A donation in the small green lock box is appreciated but not required. Be sure all fires are completely extinguished before going to sleep. 6. We appreciate you not leaving any garbage, but if you are unable to take it with you, there is a garbage can at the main entrance of the house. Do not leave any garbage at the campsite. 7. Keep all pets near the campsite and do not allow them near the main house or where they might disturb other guests. Clean up any droppings.
