Suwannee River Glamping

7 sites · RVs, Tents6 acres · White Springs, FL
In 1990 the State of Florida banned logging within 1,000 feet of the Suwannee River so Southeast Timberlands sold off it's holdings and we were lucky enough to purchase 6 acres and 444 feet of riverfront. A designated "Pristine Scenic Waterway" with very steep banks, the Suwannee is one of the few"wild" rivers left in the United States and can rise over 30 feet to flood stage almost overnight; yet due to its unique topography we can access it no matter how high or low the water. The Forest Service has bought up the surrounding lots, creating a 10 mile Conservation corridor supporting the National Scenic Florida Trail, it's clearly marked footpaths and natural attractions. To that end, we have left the old growth upland forest the way we found it. The campsite is a natural feature as is the Zen deck and canoe launch, a swale draining the ridge. The campsite is level, the lane to the river slopes gently dropping in elevation 20 feet over 1,000 in making it easy for able bodied guests to navigate their way to the white sugar sand beach. We want to share our retreat with those who are looking for a real wilderness experience in an exclusive private setting. A Waiver of Liability is required by all guests as the Wilderness is an inherently dangerous place. We only offer one accommodation per weekend with a maximum of 8 people so our guests can have the seclusion they desire and be free to enjoy the natural wonder of the woodland experience in any manner they choose.

The G Spot on the Suwannee River

2 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres · White Springs, FL
We were lucky enough to buy our slice of paradise when the State of Florida banned logging within 1,000 feet of the river. My riverside Gazebo came with the property and I am delighted to share it with campers. Learn more about this land: Our pet friendly (2 dog maximum) G Spot, Ginny’s Gazebo, offers a unique outdoor experience with some of the amenities of home. Primitive camping amenities include a pop-up port-a-potty, potable water tank, charcoal grill, picnic table, Tiki torches and a firepit. Arrangements can be made with Jerry Pierre, the River Concierge, for tents, river inner tubes, transportation, ice and anything else you might need to make your stay a pleasant one. Fish from our banks, swim in the river, float downriver in a tube from our own launch, and hike along the clearly marked Orange-blazed Florida Trail with bird watching, sunbathing on sugar sand beaches, meditating on our riverbank Zen deck and roasting marshmallows around a roaring campfire, await you at our private and exclusive retreat. Folk and music festivals throughout the year are within a 15-minute drive. Go on eco-adventures, dine alfresco  or just spend the day in a hammock  watching the river go by. No electricity, internet or TV connections, so you can unplug from your devices if you wish and get away from it all.

Enjoy Peacefulness on the beautiful historic Suwannee River, fish, canoe, kayak, hike, bike, view wildlife.  The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park is within 8 miles of this property and about 7 miles from the Stephen Foster Memorial State Park. Many Springs are located close by where you can swim and scuba dive. There is a Canoe Outpost close by that offers drop off and pick up with canoes. Property has many trees, cement benches around a firepit, picnic table, a large extra work table for cooking. Bring your RV, Tent, Van, Hammock or whatever you are comfortable in. Unwind, relax and enjoy the sounds and beauty of nature. I supply a map of the River and the surrounding area to help you make the most of your experience. If you need help with things I am close by. There is soo much history about the Suwannee River in North Florida! :D It is known that Indians once traveled along these banks and proof has been found from many Arrow Heads and other artifacts being found along the Suwannee River. There are many Springs along the over 240 miles of River as it empties into the Gulf of Mexico. The Suwannee River begins it's journey in the Okefenokee Swamp in South Georgia. This is also where the Suwannee River gets it's tannic color from the decaying vegetation in the swamp. More about the Suwannee River can be found at: MySuwanneeRiver.com

Glenn Farm

6 sites · RVs, Tents125 acres · Fort White, FL
The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of three spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow or Magnolia Sink). Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1844), Magnolia sink is also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Stagecoach Junction

We bought this piece of heaven to be out of a RV park environment.  We are in the process of upgrading the site and will soon have a full bathroom/shower for tent guests, as well as direct septic hook up and a deck to sit out on.If you enjoy an all nature setting- where you can watch the Deer, Gopher Tourtise, squirrels, Hawks, and other creatures in their natural setting. We love the peace of the location we have, and we are easy to find off 2 main roads that lead to town- shopping and restaurants.  We hope to share our blessing with campers that want a special unique experience.By the way, at any time you might hear us in the workshop or by the fire as we are Bluegrass musicians.  Feel free to join in with an instrument or your voice. All is appreciated.
