Welcome to Smokey Acres! This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there. Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch. Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees. Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando. A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. This property is home to a farm/nursery operation and has a large pond on the west side. The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay. Approximately 33 private acres allows for plenty of space between our campsites. Property is home to a farm with hundreds of fruit trees- Lychee, Mango, Starfruit, Papaya, Guava). Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants. Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too. Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish). Several species of wildlife have been seen on the property. We think the property is lovely, and definitely want you to enjoy your camping experience!

Rennigers Antique Center is located right up the street (less than 5 minutes away) for some great picking. We are conveniently close to the Central Florida Attractions and the beach on both east and west coasts within an hour drivep. A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be. The property is definitely different then most. The site itself is super spacious, and has great tree coverage from some ancient oaks. the site can hold up to an extra 5 tents if neened. There is solar power to the tee pee with a 750w solar inverter connected to two deep cycle batteries. Now to get to the site you have to go through the main busy part of the property (we literally have planes, trains and automobiles and more). But once you get to the site you feel the nature. Also right next to the property about 100 yd from where the property starts there is an entrance to a boat ramp (which has a 2 mi canal that goes to lake Apopka where you can launch a canoe or kayak, or do some fishing), also a 2.6 mi nature trail, and about 100 yd as well there is a 25 mile trail that you can bike, walk or horseback ride. That trail is a part of the Apopka wildlife drive which also starts not far from the property. It's a free nature drive on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays plus holidays. We are around 15 to 20 minutes from a few different springs such as wekiva springs, wekiva Island, Rock springs and Kings landing. We are about 45 minutes from SeaWorld, aquatica, volcano Bay, universal studios and more.

Weekend Trip to Smokey Acres

This was a great place to camp! We stayed at camp site 5, which was tucked away in the woods along the trail. It felt remote and secluded, which made for a peaceful stay. There were three of us staying and we each had enough room with our own tents. We were able to purchase fire wood on site which was convenient. The spot is far enough away from people to feel like primitive camping but it’s also a close enough drive off the highway that we ran to Walmart for some extra supplies. Since it is near the highway I could hear some traffic at night but that is not a deal breaker for me, especially since everything else worked well for us. It was only about 15-20 minutes from Weeki Wachee Springs, which was a fun excursion. The site was clean, the addition of the shower and bathroom were pleasant, and the property was beautiful. I think all three of us are considering coming back in the future!

We loved staying here. Mike and Rob were very fast with communication, the were very pleasant and so were all their staff. The sites all looked very nice. We stayed in the hobbit hole. Nice secluded flat spot with fire ring, an picnic table. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. First of all, congrats to Rob and Mike on receiving the Best Hipcamp award for 2025! If anyone deserves it, it is them! My third visit here, and as always...it was amazing! Rob and Mike are the greatest hosts! They are so accommodating, super nice, and keep such great care of the property. Bathrooms and showers are always very clean. I just love the animals there, especially the horses and donkeys! I came this time to do some kayaking. So many awesome places nearby. My 9-year-old granddaughter usually comes with me but unfortunately, she had school. We feel so safe camping at this ranch! This is undoubtedly our favorite place to camp and will be coming back as much as possible!

Weekend Trip to Smokey Acres

My family had a great weekend here! Easy to find and the host send wonderful, detailed instructions on how/where to find everything. Such a gorgeous property. My kids loved the fishing pond and all the space to run and play. It was so helpful that they had firewood available. Great spot to feel like you’re tucked away in the wilderness with the convenience of still being ten minutes away from Walmart. My one slight complaint if you could call it that, is that there is only one toilet for the whole campground. Typically, I don’t think this would be an issue, however the weather was amazing the weekend my family was here, so it was a full house with just that one toilet which got tricky at times. I am no stranger to using the bathroom “primitively” however with the big open campsites that are wonderful, there are no private areas to do so, which leaves all the tent campers to the one toilet. Overall this was a wonderful place to camp and my family would definitely like to come back in the future!

We love how secluded it is and how quiet it is, it's a perfect place for relaxation. For people with pets this is a perfect place, nice and quiet with nature and lots of room for your pets to run around. Our cats love the sights and sounds of pure nature, for they are used to the sites and sounds of the city.

So glad we found this gem of a campsite! Hilary was very communicative and gave clear directions on how to get to the property and our individual site. There are lots of trees and foliage and some vintage RVs covered in vines and plants, giving the land a fun and funky vibe. Our site (RV3) included electrical books ups, water and a garbage bin and was situated next to a pond along with a picnic table and firepit. We also had a huge grassy field that could accommodate large tents etc. You can buy firewood for $8 and even rent a fishing pole for $5. There is a bath area with a flush toilet and shower but we only used the toilet. We slept great. There were only two other RVs nearby who didn't make any noise and were far enough away that they didn't bother us. Our cat loved the space as well! Forget going to an RV park or state campsite and come here instead! Pricing very reasonable. Decided to book another night-Would absolutely return.

This place was so peaceful and just what I needed. I spent a few days recharging on this beautiful property and would stay here again if in the area. The only thing I would mention is that the road into the park has a lot of bumps and places washed out from the rain down here, just as a heads up for larger RVs because it was a bumpy ride in just my van. Everything was super well kept - clean trash cans for each spot, no trash anywhere on site, freshly mowed grass, and one well kept nature trail that I liked walking with my dog. Lots of wildlife and nature sounds; 10/10 for me!

Everything went well it was a very peaceful place. It was clean it was cute my only suggestion is is maybe bring something that pads the pull out bed they have in there but other than that everything else was perfect. Thank you so much for the space Star wars were fine bathroom was fine I had a couple of campfires it was just quiet and peaceful and I had massive alone time and I loved it. Mini fridge worked and AC probably worked but I never had to turn it on I just used the fan because it was cool evenings and it was a great base for me to stay in order to go fishing or out somewhere sleep late lay there or just listen to the sounds of the forest which I don't get to hear very often. Thank you thank you thank you so much. I'm probably going to stay again sometime.

1 night at Lucky U Ranch

First off, Rob and Mike are amazing hosts! They went above and beyond with their ranch for the animals and the camping side of the property! There is so much thought that went into this camp site, from small details to large details you can feel the love they put into everything so their guests can enjoy camping but also be given the glamping experience with the bathroom with operational plumbing, heated showers, soaps, shampoos, clean towels, kitchen stocked with hot coco, coffee and automatic lights that light up as you approach the bathroom / kitchen area. The property is so large and there are many camp sites from covered car ports for rvs, campers to tent sites and open sites for rvs and campers. Rob and Mike gave us a tour of the ranch and introduced us to the farm animals the day we were leaving, took time out of their day refreshing the camp sites to accommodate us before we left. The only downside here was that we only booked a single night, we wish we had more time to stay and explore the ranch and the area. I cannot recommend Lucky U Ranch enough, my wife and I will definitely be back and stay longer so we can enjoy the property, trails and the free ranging animals that come visit your campsite. Thank you Rob and Mike, we see the passion the both of you put into everything on lucky u ranch! Hope to see you again soon!

Rob and Mike were exceptional hosts. Their property is large, quiet, and a great sample of "old Florida." We made a point of checking out all of the camp sites. All were quiet, private, and in a beautiful setting. The ranch animals were abundant, fun, and friendly. We would highly recommend the LuckyUranch... This was by far the best Hipcamp that we have visited..... hands down. Thank you Mike and Rob!!!

We brought our travel trailer to Smokey Acres and it was a quiet and peaceful weekend. We had a great camping experience. The property was amazing, and the tent sites and cabin along the trail were very cozy looking too.
