This option is especially great since van/rv/trailer camping is not allowed on public streets or in public parking lots in the Town of Crested Butte. After traveling the US in our motorhome for almost 5 years my husband Scott and I know the value of a smiling face and a helping hand after a day (or week) of travel. Exploring and experiencing this amazing country, its diversity and incredible people enhanced our lives in so many ways.

We have a lovely, shady, and quiet property about a mile outside of Paonia- just a 20 minute walk, or a few minutes bike ride into town. The camping spot is shaded and secluded with hookups on site, as well as a flush toilet and sink in rustic out house and is about 150 feet from the main house. There are a lot of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and foxes around, and we do our best to respect them!

This was a great site! I was worried about being on the north rim of Black Canyon because the “main” stuff is on the south rim but IT WAS SO GREAT! We did the south rim the day before and hit the North Rim morning after (views are 10x better!!) Definitely recommend Tater’s campground, so clean, so comfortable, so serene. Star gazing, stunning views, seclusion, and sweet pets 🩵 Traci + Chris have done a wonderful job.

Kent is a fabulous host! His property is ideal for a peaceful, Paonia location. Plenty of room to spread out with a privacy fence between the main residence, and neighbors. Also an easy half block walk to Paonia Park, and six blocks to Paonia's central location. Walk to the grocery store, cocktail lounges and restaurants. I'm looking forward to staying here again.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Tater’s. Chris is a helpful and friendly host and we enjoyed chatting with him and meeting Tater, Sugi and Otis. The view of the nearby mountains was amazing, especially at sunset and the dark sky allowed for wonderful stargazing. The bathhouse with showers was a short walk from the campsite and it is kept clean. We had everything we needed for a relaxing visit while exploring the north rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
