The House where we live is the corner stone of the Bruce Property and is on the Colorado Register of Historic Houses. The residence was constructed between 1905 and 1912, using red bricks made on the site. John and Sophia Bruce, early pioneers in the North Fork Valley, were first involved in cattle raising. The family later became successful fruit growers. Located along the West Elk Loop, a Colorado Scenic and Historic Byway, the large two-story residence features a steeply pitched hipped roof with prominent attic dormers. As a guest of Riverwalk you will have full access to the river during your stay. In addition, there is the Riverwalk Trail System that skirts the North Fork of the Gunnison River from the top of the property, by the Riverwalk Yurt, (available on this site) meandering downstream past the Riverwalk TIPI (available on the site) passing the Grove Yurt (available on this site) and terminating at the bottom of the property with the sandy Riverwalk Beach. There is a trial that zigs through the Cottonwood Grove and zags back along the gentle Monitor Ditch skirting a newly planted grove of young trees. For RV Campers we provide 2- 30amp,1-50 amp and 1- 110-amp electrical services and potable water. There is a dump station available. There is also access to our heated shower house with running water and bathroom amenities (<3 min. walk, may be shared with other guests). The property is perfectly geared to groups of friends gathering in a central location between the onset of the Rockies and the termination high desert to the west. Friends or family will reserve both Yurts and the RV Site for a perfect reunion setting!

This was such a beautiful spot to stay. Big B’s next door was so fun and cute, and plus we got to see fireflies! ⛺️✨ George was so attentive and thoughtful, he made sure every detail was perfect for our trip.

Tipi 3-night Stay

There are a couple of yurts and RV spots but due to the trees, it still feels private. The shower/toilet building is small but very nice with a toilet, toilet paper, sink with soap, and both an indoor and outdoor shower. I booked the tipi site. This site has a campfire ring, a small charcoal grill, two picnic tables, a hammock swing, and a few chairs. The river was deep and had a fast moving current so my pup cooled off in the small ditch by the campsite instead. Inside the tipi was a small table with two chairs, a fold out cushion for a bed, a suitcase rack, and a small cooler that you could store ice/food in. There is phone service at the site. Before booking, I was a little worried because there was rain in the forecast but figured it was okay since I didn't see any information about how rain may impact the stay. Unfortunately the rain entered the tipi two of the three nights - so much so that I had to sleep in my car instead. So I recommend booking a different site on the property if there is rain in the forecast.

Beautiful HipCamp in a Great Locati

This is a GREAT HipCamp. George is super helpful and friendly, the land is serene, and the sites are thoughtfully designed and private. The bathroom (hot water, good water pressure, welcoming, private, clean) is in a class of its own. The property next door (walking distance) is an orchard / entertainment space / community gathering place / bakery with free live music. We took full advantage of both the HipCamp amenities and its great location.

Great Hidden Gem

Great spot with a phenomenal host. Very clean and comfortable. The location is great! Big Bs orchard next store has U-Pick, swings, and a very clean pond to swim in. All and all a really comfy place with nice people
