Kind host, but misleading pictures.

The pictures were quite misleading. These spots are simply parking spots in the home’s driveway, and each spot is right on top of each other, making it very difficult to have any sort of privacy whatsoever (especially in regards to bathroom needs). We travel all around the country and are very comfortable in most areas, especially out in the middle of nowhere in the backcountry. However, we felt uncomfortable in this setting, and didn’t even stay through our full booking, choosing instead to leave first thing in the morning and find another spot for our second night even though we paid for multiple nights. Also, the drive up is very steep and incredibly tight and should not be accessed without a 4wheel drive vehicle. Caitlin herself was very easy to communicate with and we were grateful for her recommendations in the local area. Unfortunately, the sites themselves were just not for us.

Great views, tight with a trailer

Overall we had a great experience. We booked site 3, were moved to site 4, and ended up camping in site 2. Caitlin was very responsive (via phone) and helpful in moving us to another site. Site 2 was great for our 26' travel trailer, but it was a tight drive up in our F-150 and any longer of a rig or truck and we might not have made it. The scenery was gorgeous and it was very quiet. The birds were lovely as well! I would not encourage long rigs to book this place.

A hideaway in the woods!

Just wow. First off, some have complained about the proximity to the house. Let me start by saying that yes, the sites are next to Caitlin’s driveway and her house is pretty much right there. Do not let that deter you! I was in site 3, which is closest to her house. I barely saw another human, and was easily able to position my van, tent, and self to ensure privacy. The sunrise, sunset, wild turkeys, deer, and curious small black bear all added to the magic of my stay. (Caitlin will give you bear safety tips before you arrive, and to my dismay I only spott r the little guy once. He ran as soon as I banged some pots and pans, and he was truly the highlight of my trip!) There are some cleared paths to a meadow below, and it was fun to explore! Caitlin and her team have been hard at work clearing the space, as the previous owners definitely didn’t “leave no trace.” The sites are clean, flat, and comfortable, but if you see some trash neatly piled in the woods, look past it to the beauty and give Caitlin some grace! She’s building something beautiful here, and it’s a work in progress. I had to wander a bit around my site for cell signal, but generally always had enough to call or text my loved ones! Definitely check it out. Possibly my favorite place I’ve found!

A value for tent or small van/rv camping for short term trips. Very active wildlife. Tons of deer and turkey in the morning and evenings. My sedan had no issues making it up the driveway slowly.

i genuinely cannot emphasize how terrifying the drive up was and how lost we got and how sketch this campground was. trash? everywhere. the map and directions were non existent and the only place to pitch a tent was on the side of a hill and i truly have never slept worse in my life. everywhere i turned there was a rock up my ass it was like sleeping in silent hill. there was a lovely herd of deer and i was a big fan of them but holy balls bro what was that

It’s a driveway

This wasn’t a camp site, it was a slight pull off from a driveway. If that works for you, great! I see that positive reviews have been left. I have to admit, this was the first time I’ve felt ripped off by Hipcamp. The house is a hundred yards away, but more importantly, the campsite is directly adjacent to the driveway where people will be driving fifteen feet away from your tent. When we first pulled up, we missed the spot entirely because it never crossed our mind it could be a camp spot. I love Hipcamp, and I’ve happily paid to camp next door to goat pens and chicken coops. But the pictures for this site should show it in full view - not the view into the woods, which is nice! But the view which shows that you’ll be directly on top of an RV campsite and directly connected to a driveway. This could work for people, and if they choose that, I’m sure they’ll be happy! But that’s not what we thought we were choosing, and if we had known, we’d have chosen something else.

Easy access to the site #4 and didn’t have any problems setting up camp. The views from the site were fantastic. Felt safe with the foliage around us.

First off; the price was the best in the area, and Caitlin was very easy to contact. While the posting said the area was a work in progress, we didnt know how far along they were. We had to move some things to make room for our tent. And I would love to see the host remove it fully. Im sure its on their to do list though. Aside from clearing the space a little better, I would like to see clearer instructions for where to set up. All that being said, I'm excited to see future progress and I would most likely reserve this spot again.
