Just wow. First off, some have complained about the proximity to the house. Let me start by saying that yes, the sites are next to Caitlin’s driveway and her house is pretty much right there. Do not let that deter you!
I was in site 3, which is closest to her house. I barely saw another human, and was easily able to position my van, tent, and self to ensure privacy.
The sunrise, sunset, wild turkeys, deer, and curious small black bear all added to the magic of my stay. (Caitlin will give you bear safety tips before you arrive, and to my dismay I only spott r the little guy once. He ran as soon as I banged some pots and pans, and he was truly the highlight of my trip!)
There are some cleared paths to a meadow below, and it was fun to explore! Caitlin and her team have been hard at work clearing the space, as the previous owners definitely didn’t “leave no trace.” The sites are clean, flat, and comfortable, but if you see some trash neatly piled in the woods, look past it to the beauty and give Caitlin some grace! She’s building something beautiful here, and it’s a work in progress.
I had to wander a bit around my site for cell signal, but generally always had enough to call or text my loved ones!
Definitely check it out. Possibly my favorite place I’ve found!
