Like tent camping without the hassle of having to set up a tent.
You bring your sleeping bag, bedding and towels. Or we can provide you with a bedding/towel pack for an extra cost.

This is great option for those who like to bring all their own gear to camp, and don’t need or want all the extras. Our new Primitive Adventures campsites are located on an established 5-star property. It’s a peaceful, secluded and private country estate. The 20 acre property starts out flat and then gentle to moderate sloped hillside with coastal live oak trees, eucalyptus trees, pine trees, meadows and many interesting landscape features nestled between the vast farmlands of North Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties.
We are 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The weather is usually mild here and we have cool evenings. We do get days that are in the 90s sometimes in the summer and early fall, but we also have lots of shade with all the trees. There is wildlife like deer, turkeys and owls and so much more. We have horses and a donkey, separate from the campsites, so no flies or smell from them. We provide one hot water shower and there are 3 outhouse style toilets on the grounds.
There is NO running water at the sites so we suggest you bring your own drinking water. There will be limited water provided for hand/dish washing.
We are a pack it in/pack it out campground so please, be mindful of waste as we ask that you take it out with you.
You may forage for plentiful eucalyptus and oak firewood for free, or pre-cut pine is available for purchase. Most of our weekends are fully booked at our Rustic Campsites already, so here is another chance to have yourself a weekend camping trip at our new Primitive Adventures campsites. Experience 2 campsites, BYOT (bring your own tent or rent one from us) or an onsite Bell tent. The Bell tent contains carpeted padded flooring, camp lights,
shelving, 2 cots with bedding, plus a memory foam camping mattress! The BYOT site's measurement is 10' x 10' . Both sites have shaded areas, and picnic tables. A shower and a compost toilet are available.
Enjoy a designated smoking/vaping spot, multiple benches, and swings, a "grounding" spot, birding, water fountains and art.
A no noise policy by the county occurs at 9 pm. Due to a high risk fire zone, no open fires. Due to the proximity of the tents right next to Vega Rd, sounds from vehicles can be heard. We are situated in a rural neighborhood setting, with sounds of sheep, goats, chickens, wild turkeys, dogs and many birds nestled between both counties. For enhanced protection we ask that a waiver be signed. Security cameras are on site. While respecting your privacy, we can be seen improving the property. The terrain is hilly and staying on paths limits poison oak exposure.
Vega Vortex has been called a Park and Machu Picchu due to the amphitheater landscaping of terracing. Practicing permaculture, a diversity of pollinating plants/ flowers, organic garden and art features exist. Minutes away from National Parks, the Mystery Spot, Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk, Roaring Camp Train, Monterey Bay Aquarium, National Steinbeck Center, Moss Landing, Elkhorn Slough/Canoe/Kayak, Estuaries (bird watching), golfing and multiple beaches.

Solstice and Sunrise cabins recently re-built cabins have one queen bed and two twin beds (max 4 ppl) and are located near a shared communal bathhouses.
Sunset village cabins have access to a bathhouse with designated full baths with private shower and bathroom for each cabin. Each cabin has power and one queen bed and two twin beds (max 4 ppl)
Like tent camping without the hassle of having to set up a tent.
You bring your sleeping bag, bedding and towels. Or we can provide you with a bedding/towel pack for an extra cost.

This is great option for those who like to bring all their own gear to camp, and don’t need or want all the extras. Our new Primitive Adventures campsites are located on an established 5-star property. It’s a peaceful, secluded and private country estate. The 20 acre property starts out flat and then gentle to moderate sloped hillside with coastal live oak trees, eucalyptus trees, pine trees, meadows and many interesting landscape features nestled between the vast farmlands of North Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties.
We are 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The weather is usually mild here and we have cool evenings. We do get days that are in the 90s sometimes in the summer and early fall, but we also have lots of shade with all the trees. There is wildlife like deer, turkeys and owls and so much more. We have horses and a donkey, separate from the campsites, so no flies or smell from them. We provide one hot water shower and there are 3 outhouse style toilets on the grounds.
There is NO running water at the sites so we suggest you bring your own drinking water. There will be limited water provided for hand/dish washing.
We are a pack it in/pack it out campground so please, be mindful of waste as we ask that you take it out with you.
You may forage for plentiful eucalyptus and oak firewood for free, or pre-cut pine is available for purchase. Most of our weekends are fully booked at our Rustic Campsites already, so here is another chance to have yourself a weekend camping trip at our new Primitive Adventures campsites. Experience 2 campsites, BYOT (bring your own tent or rent one from us) or an onsite Bell tent. The Bell tent contains carpeted padded flooring, camp lights,
shelving, 2 cots with bedding, plus a memory foam camping mattress! The BYOT site's measurement is 10' x 10' . Both sites have shaded areas, and picnic tables. A shower and a compost toilet are available.
Enjoy a designated smoking/vaping spot, multiple benches, and swings, a "grounding" spot, birding, water fountains and art.
A no noise policy by the county occurs at 9 pm. Due to a high risk fire zone, no open fires. Due to the proximity of the tents right next to Vega Rd, sounds from vehicles can be heard. We are situated in a rural neighborhood setting, with sounds of sheep, goats, chickens, wild turkeys, dogs and many birds nestled between both counties. For enhanced protection we ask that a waiver be signed. Security cameras are on site. While respecting your privacy, we can be seen improving the property. The terrain is hilly and staying on paths limits poison oak exposure.
Vega Vortex has been called a Park and Machu Picchu due to the amphitheater landscaping of terracing. Practicing permaculture, a diversity of pollinating plants/ flowers, organic garden and art features exist. Minutes away from National Parks, the Mystery Spot, Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk, Roaring Camp Train, Monterey Bay Aquarium, National Steinbeck Center, Moss Landing, Elkhorn Slough/Canoe/Kayak, Estuaries (bird watching), golfing and multiple beaches.

Staying at Robin’s for my first night of camper life was a great choice. Upon my arrival Robin greeted me with a smile and 1/2 dozen freshly laid eggs. The location, while understated, provided a great 2 day landing for my 19’ Sprinter van. Hook-ups were easy; and given this was first RV trip, Ray even helped me troubleshoot a few things on my side. The fire pit was well stocked with plenty of wood. The sink and bathroom were a nice plus.
Manresa beach is a pleasant 8 min stroll. With miles of barely populated beach, I felt as though I were all mine;).
I couldn’t have asked for better hosts during my maiden RVoyage.

What a wonderful experience!! Beautiful and quiet piece of property today at. We were welcomed with open arms with fresh eggs and Girl Scout cookies, hat better way to say hello!? Close to the beach with beautiful views of the strawberry fields. Will definitely visit again.

Robin was great, we ended up leaving a day early because we were missing our daughter and got our fill of travel, and she kindly refunded our last day without us even asking! the beach just a minute down the road is absolutely amazing, large sandy beach with a spectacular sunset, I would definitely come again!

Weekend Trip to Vega Vortex-Gaia Health Retreat
The Vortex was the perfect place to disconnect and take a break from the hustle and bustle of life. Thaddeus and Mona were incredibly welcoming - I felt right at home the moment I arrived. The tent and bathroom facilities were impeccable. They truly thought of everything to make the experience seamless, from automatic lights to earplugs if you’d rather not hear the sounds of the surrounding farms (I personally loved it). The energy there is spectacular. I only wish I had stayed longer than one night!

The land was magical. Such a sweet little Canyon right off Highway one. Stayed in the Redwood. Gazebo a short hike up a steep hill. The views at night with the moon and the stars over the ocean were amazing. Rustic and scrappy property, but all about the land really.

Weekend Trip to The Secret Gardens by the Bay
I booked the same day and got everything I needed to find the location and get settled in. I didn’t have the time to see all of the secret gardens but the main areas where living and kitchen are were awesome. Very welcoming, secluded and green. I stayed in the tiny cot, which for my needs as a solo traveler was perfect. I plan to return as soon as life permits.

Weekend Trip to Sacred Owl Land
It’s been a few days since our trip to this location, and after being back home, I genuinely cannot recommend this spot enough. The hosts were very attentive and kind, but also we felt so private and alone. The land itself is beautiful, and the cabana we were in was absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of the trees and land over the hills. The hardest part for me was the loft bed as getting up and down the ladder was a little nerve-wracking. But after you get used to it, it is beyond worth it.
The drive up to the property was a little challenging, but if you are used to small mountain roads and listen to the speed limit signs, it really isn’t that bad. And again, SO worth it. The entire trip was so peaceful and lovely, I completely forgot to take any pictures. Amazing little spot, will be back!

We loved staying here for a few nights! Absolutely amazing for stargazing, and the host Veronica is super welcoming. She shared her mission to preserve the Blue Oaks and really cares about treating the land properly. Highly recommend, overall great experience. 45 min to Pinnacles National Park too

Weekend Trip to dabudage Big Sur
Great property! I enjoyed using the kitchen, walking along the creek, and seeing the chickens. The redwood room itself is in good condition and was cozy for a night stay. A great view of the water as well.
