​Amberkolly is a 36,000 acre broad scale wagyu beef breeding property with beautiful valleys and ranges. Camping is available along the picturesque, untouched Broken River with crystal clear water running straight out of Eungella National Park. ​ Amberkolly is situated roughly 48km south of Collinsville Qld, accessed via 18km of gravel road. It features a massive 8km of dual frontage to the Broken and Little Bowen Rivers, and also 4 km of dual frontage to the Bowen river. There is access for camping set ups including swags all the way up to 24ft caravans. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. You must have your own amenities and drinking water. There is access to a picnic table and rubbish facilities. The Broken and Bowen River runs crystal clear year round and the little Bowen is seasonal. There is some gold in the river beds so be sure to bring your metal detector. Sit around the campfire in the evening sharing special time with your family. There is no phone service or power on site so it will give you that much needed time out from the outside world. We recommend 4WDs to access the campsite. All I can say, is the experience is true bush camping. A lot of swimming holes and camping spots to choose from.

This place is stunning!!! I absolutely loved it here. So fun getting to 4x4 in the riverbanks and roads. Amazing swimming holes as well it’s so pretty. Will be back for sure 🖤

This was the best 3 days we have had in a long time. Amazing camp site, beautiful river and nothing but the birds , wind in the trees and the sound of the rapids to deal with. We will be back

Great surprise of unwitnessed beauty that maybe easily missed because of its remoteness. Directions rather vague in relation to the various camp sites. We stayed at Junction 1, picniced at Washpool 1 and loved both. Fish Head was also beautiful. Caught up with the station manager who was very helpful.

Easy access and a e beautiful place to camp. Peak times like long weekends the main/largest place you would more than likely be sharing with others as the booking system doesn't seem to allocate a campsite which can be a problem if you are in a caravan as you options are limited. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Definitely staying again.

Secluded bush camping on the crystal clear Broken river. No phone coverage, awesome swimming, kayaking and fishing. Total relaxation and only a couple of hours from home.

Really enjoyed our time at Washpool 1. Plenty of space for our van. We'll bring our kayak next time. The mud map was really helpful.

We had a site booked over the Easter weekend. At arrival no one was there to give us instructions regarding our site. A mud map was supplied but the names of the site are different to the name of the booking. There was a UFH channel but no one answered when we tried to contact them. There is no reception at all so you can't contact the owner. There were some beautiful spots but they were all taken. We paid for 3 nights $90 total. We finally got hold of someone at the house to tell us where we could camp. We got told it was a nice spot and the grass was cut. It was the opposite. The grass was high. The ground was messy. There was rubbish left behind. No view just a rough patch. We damaged our van driving up there and had to leave the next day. Again we tried to contact the host by UFH to let them know. We stopped at the house and left a written message at the door. I have tried to call once we had reception and sent several emails but had no response at all. No refund was given for the last day which was disappointing. The policy states that you get a refund if you give 24 hours notice. We should have been refunded at least for the last night. All together it's a beautiful property unfortunately we ended up with a crappy site but the most disappointing thing was that the host did not responded once to any of our messages.

We like to camp in the bush and enjoy the quiet ambience. We had an unfortunate experience with a group of 4 large caravans very close to us with loud generators which ran all long weekend, day and night, disturbing the quiet serenity of a bush camp. They had extremely bright lights which shone right through to our campfire. Generators in this environment should be limited to either not at all, or daylight hours only.

Easter weekend camping 2025

What an amazing Easter weekend with family and friends (and our fur babies) in such a beautiful setting! We swam in the running rivers, did some 4WD to check out all the sites in the property and just made the most of the company and blue skies. We came through the pipeline road from Eungella dam so it was easy to find, the staff were welcoming and helpful, and we will definitely be back again when it’s not so busy!

A beautiful place to camp however I was unfortunate and had 4 large caravans parked next to me with their generators going almost the entire time. Have camped at this location multiple times and this has been the first time having noisy neighbours
