This property has been in our family for over 42 years. 2021 was the first year we have opened up to the public. Our slice of river paradise, we are one of the largest private properties left along the Hawkesbury river in Leets Vale. The property was home to the first school in Wisemans Ferry. Set up just a few steps to the Hawkesbury River! The property has a stunning view overlooking the mountains. Mid week you will enjoy complete serenity, on weekends it can get busier with people on the river. Camp spots are a 10 minute walk from houses so you have privacy and we can maintain ours. Chilled vibes only please, no parties or groups. No pets, sorry. No facilities, campers must be self sufficient and remove all waste.

Wombat site 1
2 night stay at the Wombat site.
We absolutely loved our stay at Wisemans Escape. One of the many highlights was the drive into the property. From the minute we hit the Wisemans ferry to cross the river (epic) to the second we pulled up to our spot at the Wombat site we had were already loving our adventure to kick off our 2 night stay. The property itself is stunning ! Beautiful piece of land that wraps around the Hawkesbury River, enclosed in by towing rockfaces that you can sit and watch for hours as they change. We stayed at the wombat site which was a decent distance away from other campers and quite isolated, the only draw back is it was a long walk back to the only toilet on site. Thanks again Bec, we would love to come back.

Kangaroo site 2
Riverside Retreat offers a beautiful place to reset and connect with nature by the majestic Hawkesbury River. My friend and I enjoyed two nights camped at the Kangaroo site and we were pretty much alone with the river and our campfire despite the other three sites having guests also. The sites are set wide apart to ensure complete privacy. Our site had lush, level grass underfoot that drained well in the overnight rain, so no muddy feet! There is only one toilet but it is well maintained and clean. The river is accessible down a slight hill and the clean water was just what we needed to freshen up at the end of the day before getting our fire going for the night. Host Bec was great and popped by to make sure we were settled. But the best part about staying at Riverside is that it is only 2 hours from Sydney/Central Coast and you get to take in the landscapes and peace of the beautiful Hawkesbury. If you want total quiet this may not be the place for you with the ski boats passing by every now and then, but we quite liked checking them out. Plus, quaint Wisemans Ferry and St Albans villages are not too far away by car for a pub lunch if you feel like exploring. Highly recommend and hope to return. Mel & Heather
