The working farm fields are not open to campers, but can be admired as a backdrop. Wave hi to any farmers you see out there working! A You-Pick flower patch and farm stand at the entrance of the property are open for frolicking, picture-taking and flower-picking seasonally.
You'll see bald eagles, hear owls and watch deer pass through your camp. But you are only about a 5-10 min walk from town! This does mean you'll often hear music from events on weekend evenings, and plane traffic does fly overhead. Vashon is quiet and full of nature, but you're not out in the middle of nowhere! The shed has an easy to use composting toilet with clear instructions if you’re a first timer. Also, this IS a converted shed, so be ready for some lower ceilings and narrow spaces. The lofted full bed is cozy, but don’t bop your head on the way out! The bed has a six inch memory foam mattress with extra blankets and pillows. Everything is washed with free and clear detergent for sensitivities.
We provide a small refrigerator, a 2 burner stove, coffee supplies (keurig pods,pour over coffee with creamer/sugar), wine opener, dishes, and more. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals and games either indoors or outdoors.

This cozy cottage is equipped with a queen size bed in a lovely sleeping loft, a small but useful kitchen, a large trex deck with patio furniture, a comfy couch and small dining table. The separate, but luxurious, bath house has a full sized shower, sink, and fully plumbed flushing toilet. There is even a small stacked washer and dryer available. Laundry soap available for purchase. Name brand (no dollar store stuff here) shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided.
A cozy heater keeps the tiny house warm on cool days, but there is no air conditioning. The shady woods stay nice and cool, and there are lots of screened windows to let in the breeze. The sleeping loft also has two screened windows and a fan if the nights are warm.
The kitchen has a gas 2 burner stove, a mini fridge, toaster oven, hot water kettle, french press coffee maker, dishes, utensils, pots/pans, and other basics.
The bed has 100% cotton sheets, pillow cases, and blanket. As well as a comfy coverlet. A feather alternative duvet is available for colder nights.
There is only one bed and it is not recommended for small children to sleep in the loft as there is no safety rail or gate up there. If a child is present it is recommended (almost required) that they sleep on the couch in the lower living space.

This campground is located within Maury Island Marine Park, on the east side of Maury Island, a peninsula of Vashon Island. One of the largest undeveloped properties located directly on Puget Sound with more than 1 mile of shoreline, the park provides stunning views of the East Passage, Mount Rainier and the Cascade Mountains. The site had significance for early Native Americans and is referenced in a legend about Snake People who arrived from the mainland as part of war party.
The park contains rare stands of Pacific Madrone, a salt marsh, eelgrass beds and significant fish and wildlife habitat for such species as great blue herons, bald eagles, kingfishers, chinook salmon, orca, and bull trout.
Trail length within the park: 3 miles (plus .75 mile gravel maintenance road to the shoreline accessible to non-motorized vehicles only).

You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful!

There is no outdoor music at any time. Quiet hours are 8 pm to 10 am.
There is no picnic table or any amenities, but you can fill up water at our barn if needed.

The water at (shallower) Dockton Park (about a 6 min drive away) gets warm from swimming in summer if you prefer it to 54 degree deep water here!
Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be leashed AT ALL TIMES in the field. If no one is around at the beach, they can be off leash, but leash up if anyone approaches until they pass. Please never leave your dog unattended outside where barking will disturb the peace.

My neighbor has two outdoor dogs, so if you have pets it’s important to manage them to keep barking to a minimum.
I work as a metal artist out of my garage studio. Welding is not noisy but, grinding and cutting can be. I limit it to 9-8pm, but can easily shift to other quiet tasks if you ask.

3 sisters and our brother in law decided we wanted to make a place where people can enjoy the Northwest that we grew up in. It doesn't matter if you bring your own tent, drive an rv, or rent the luxury tent, the great outdoors is there for all to enjoy!
We have great places to pitch your own tent and enjoy the rustic pleasures just being outdoors. The sites are rustic and access to trails are nearby. We also have a wonderful covered outdoor kitchen with propane grill, microwave, and coffee pot. A safe place to gather with family.
Bring your RV and park and have a large site to yourself. You have room to spread out your awning without hitting the next vehicle. Each site has its own picnic table and fire ring. Also if you are in the mood you have a covered kitchen to meet and mingle with other guests. We also have a big screen tv in the kitchen so you don't miss the Seahawks games.

Our guests love staying here "This site has absolutely everything you need. You'll want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, but I think that was the only things I noticed I'd want. They even had firewood for us, no extra charge! David, his wife, and everyone else that helps maintain the property were SO sweet and welcoming. Seems like it would be a lovely place to stay in the winter, so thats when I'd like to come back! 5 stars all the way for everything here, the thoughtfulness of the cabins, the cleanliness, the readily available kitchen and the hospitality. You NEED to check this place out."

A great spot in Vashon! So close to town! The barn and bathrooms here are wonderful and a friendly host! Unfortunately we had loud neighbors and barking dogs that were parked so close but we’d come again and try to park farther away next time.

Steven was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. His talent as a metal artist is evident throughout the property, with unique pieces that add so much character and make the space feel truly one of a kind.
The full hookups were convenient, the site was easy to find, and was peaceful and quiet overnight. Being near the water meant there was a wonderful breeze, making for a comfortable night's sleep in the van.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this location to anyone looking for a relaxing, unique place to stay!

Delightful private yurt! Tucked away about 500 feet into the woods from where you park. Virginia generously let our toddler feed her animals, that was a highlight. The yurt is well stocked with amenities including lanterns, battery back up, drinkable water etc. Plan for mosquitoes. Short driving distance to downtown and nearby parks/playgrounds.

Totally positive experience with our host and his property. Clean, excellent water and electric, covered in case of rain, centrally located with easy access to ferry, downtown and Mount Rainier. Quiet neighborhood surrounded by park, beach and stores. We had a broken appliance in our camper that needed a quick replacement part via mail order and Patrick graciously let us take delivery at the site. Highly recommended!

I loved having this adventure with my three kids! The yurt was so comfortable and well stocked. The air was fresh and it stayed cool even on a 90 degree day. The path from parking to the yurt was fairly long and gave my kids freedom to explore and ride their bikes up and down and I still always knew where they were even though they got to be independent and go on "nature walks." Virginia invited the kids to feed her goats with her, and they were SO TICKLED (literally) and got so much joy!

The camp spot was very close and convenient to town in a quiet neighborhood. The port-o-potty was spotless! And I loved the baby dear.
There was a lot of nice trees and because the camp spot was down in a little nook there was adequate privacy from the neighborhood.

We loved camping at the flower farm! The farm was beautiful and the flowers looked lovely. It felt secluded but had great amenities only a walk away. Having a kitchen was greatly appreciated! Will definitely be coming back.

Great location, great host. No smoking anywhere on the property and the oversellus barking neighbor dogs were kind of a pain as we had to keep our babies inside the whole time. But, a very good place if you do not smoke and have no dogs. The site can be difficult to navigate if you are limited on experience.

The airstream is exactly as described, the converted kitchen nook to bed was also very comfortable as a 2nd bed option. If you are taller than 5' 8" it's going to be tight (it is an airstream).
We made breakfast each morning with the fresh eggs, used the stove, and the fully equipped mini pantry. & when we got back late in the evening and the airstream was chilly from the windows being open all day we briefly used the fireplace. All and all it was exactly what we needed for the weekend.
for those thinking of booking it as an alternate to staying in Seattle proper we were easily able to drive to the ferry each morning and ferry over to the city.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Forest Yurt
We had an incredible stay at this secluded forest yurt. It was much larger than expected and thoughtfully stocked, with plebty of candles, comforts and quiet that made the evenings extra cozy. Our favorite moment was lighting candles, watching a movie, after relaxing by the fire after a peaceful day outside. The porch and grill were perfect for soaking up the forest setting, romantic, quiet, and calming. Even though the mosquitoes were out, we came prepared and it didn't dampen the experience. Our two dachshunds loved exploring. Lowbacca took his security duties very seriously while Lady took everything in. We left feeling refreshed, reconnected, and already talking about coming back. Thank you, Virginia, for creating such a memorable, welcoming place. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful nature getaway.

Loved our stay on this private site to the back of their sweet little family flower farm! We were under a canopy of trees, the toilet was clean and convenient, and the site was beautifully maintained. They even brought us firewood during our stay when we ran out! The short drive from Seattle made it so we could do 3 nights instead of 2

Overview
About
Just a few miles southwest of Seattle in the heart of Puget Sound, Blake Island Marine State Park spans nearly all of Blake Island and is only reachable by boat. A mooring dock, moorage buoys, and paddle-in campsites are available, though most campsites are available only on a first-come, first-served basis. Five miles of driftwood-strewn beach ring the island, while eight miles of hiking trails run through the island’s interior. Fishing, crabbing, clamming, hiking, and biking are all popular activities here, where campers will get views of Seattle, Mt. Rainier, and the Olympic Mountains from the shores.
Notable campgrounds
- Best all-around campground: The park’s main campground has the most amenities.
- Best for paddlers: The park’s three Cascade Marine Trail campsites are for paddlers and wind-powered vessels only.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Most Blake Island campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis year-round. However, from May 15 to September 15, 15 campsites are reservable in advance.
- Reservations for the 15 reservable summer campsites can be made nine months in advance online or by calling (888) 226-7688.
- The logistics of planning a boat trip to an island with first-come, first-served campsites and mooring options can be tricky. We recommend calling the park rangers at (360) 731-8330 for logistical questions and conditions.
When to go
Blake Island Marine State Park is open year-round, but summer is the most popular season for its long days and good weather. Winters are cold and wet, with highs in the mid-40s and lows in the mid-30s.
Know before you go
- The park’s 44 standard campsites include picnic tables, fire rings, tent pads, and access to restrooms and potable water.
- The park store at the park office carries firewood, snacks, and ice cream. Gathering firewood on the island is prohibited.
- Visitors must pack out all trash.
- Campers frequently spot deer, river otters, and bald eagles from Blake Island hiking and biking trails.

This was back in the early 90's, but I'm pretty sure the island hasn't moved much since then. We rode out from Lake Union and headed across the Sound with a pretty good chop on the water. Quick ride. A fun evening around the campfire, just hanging out. Would love to go back and check out the Tillicum Village dinner sometime...
