Approximately 20 acres on a creek to explore with lots of curious wildlife including turkey, deer, and armadillos. Walking trails abound with a stone firepit and folding grill at the drive-up campsite, and an unbeatable sunset view overlooking a quiet creek. Gaze at the stars as the sun disappears over the tops of the trees. Minimal light pollution makes for unbeatable star gazing, too!

Feel totally disconnected from civilization, yet you are ony 10 minutes off the highway, and only 20 minutes away from the nearest town for last-minute supplies.

Site includes designated in-ground fire pit and stump seats, picnic table with benches, and grilling grate.

If you're looking for an escape from the world or just a getaway for the weekend at a primitive site, I would highly recommend Dead End Creek. This place was amazing! We stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it. The area was super private and extremely quiet. A shovel, biodegradable tp, a fire ring, and a grill grate were all provided. Parking is available right at the site, which was extremely convenient. The creek was low and not running, but I was still able to catch large-mouth bass, bluegill, and a channel catfish. Quite a few gar present as well, but no luck on landing one of those. Alana was a great communicator. Her directions were perfect, and she was quick to respond to anything we needed. Definitely worth the drive!

Home away from home for the weekendHard to see, but that's Eduardo peeking his head out. He was a great campsite-mate during our stay. Likes music, dislikes smoke.Looking down the creek--contains gar, channel catfish, largemouth bass, and sunfish/bluegill

If you want dispersed, private camping-THIS IS THE SPOT!
The only noise you hear on this property are cows, horses, geese and fish jumping in the creek.
There are lots of animals and critters to keep you company- I even had some baby armadillos walk through for awhile.
I pretty much only do secluded camping when my wife gives me a hall pass ;-) and this site is one of the best I have been to.
Alana was the perfect host. She answered my questions very promptly and accurately and her directions were perfect and easy. She could not have been nicer. I will be back in the fall and recommend this site to anyone who loves to really get out there when camping.

This is an awesome place to go! The whole family had a great time. It was hot (but hey, it's September in south Texas), but so worth it. We were able to hang four hammocks and have an area for a table for games. Alana provides a shovel and toilet paper for the cat holes, a grate to use over the fire for cooking, and water to put out the fire. Recommended to another person, and he should be arroving tomorrow.

The site was great! My boyfriend, our dog, and I went there for Thanksgiving and stayed 3 nights. There is another campsite close by but you still have plenty of privacy. The Host provided a table and chairs as well as a shovel for catholes and a grate for cooking. It rained pretty heavily all day on a Saturday but setting up under the big tree helped with that. We would return!
