Welcome to River Creek. An Oasis in Mission Valley Texas that is the ideal weekend get away for the Primal Camper. Fishing, Kayak easement, swimming, access to monitored short gun range, exploring the old homestead site, or even hunting arrowheads along the river, a stocked catch and release pond, and meals can be purchased at the time of Reservations..Just bring your Tent/s, and your personal beverages of choice. Burn pits are at each campsite, and there are several community pits. There is an archery range and an In Case You Forgot Store that carries most camping and cooking items,plus soaps, first aid kits and even some otc medications..ALL ON a secluded Ranch. There are other events available at an extra cost. Standard Camping starts at 35 USD per tent. Other amenities available at Time of Reservations. Horseback riding Basic Camping skills, Campfire cooking, shelter, Fishing, Gun Safety, Bushman Survival, and even a Campsite Contest for those competitive campers who love to compete, all also available on set dates. If you’re wondering, if you should go, I’m here to let you know, Yes! With the river nearby, adding more nature sounds. Also let you have target practice if you’re into that. Long story short….. Land Huge & View Beautiful

We had a wonderful experience. The grounds were gorgeous and the perfect disconnect we were looking for. We loved that the property had horse, cows and a lot of armadillo. It was a short walk to the river. I'd definitely stay here again.

Beautiful, secluded spot by the river. James is a great host and has an adorable dog. Will definitely get out there again for some much needed nature time.

I arrived and called James who gave me gate code and together I made a mile out to campsite. 2Wd SUV slow drive is just fine. Super nice host came to greet me and told me all about the property and we walked a 1 minute down the path to the river. Lots of work has been done to this beautiful place, grill fire pit lots of prepared firewood. Clean, no bugs or fire ants - cows left as soon as I arrived. Short grass and clean. I stayed two nights. There is lots of water fun to be had, walking about even a small waterfall but I just hang around. Nice shady areas no dead trees around. I’m very happy with my host and this place. I recommend highly and folks are revisiting, I will too.

I was for sure comfortable. Secluded with plenty of land, shade, & the river just across the fence. It really felt all to myself. There’s a pit to cook over fire, a table, shade at the above area & a cool shaded spot near the water. I felt relaxed, with much comfort from all the nature.

The land was extremely beautiful at James’s. Hospitality was 10/10. We had the area all to ourselves, it was such a great set up. We will definitely be visiting again.

I loved the seclusion for my reactive dog and it was beautiful! I loved spotting the longhorn, antelope and armadillos. This was a peaceful getaway that was much needed!

Relaxing and Quiet Camping

We are Hiker trailer MRXL 5x9 camper owners which is made for off grid camping. James’s campsite was a fantastic spot to set up camp. The campsite was clean and well taken care of. We will definitely return. Due to the recent rain the Guadalupe River was high with a crest at 28 feet. We look forward to returning so we can enjoy the river next time.

This camp site is absolutely amazing, so much shade and right by the river. The river access is perfect for relaxing and staying cool. James is an amazing host, and made sure that we had everything we needed for our trip. I cant speak highly enough of this experience, site and host!

This site was phenomenal! The hosts were a delight and the site was pristine. The site had great shade with beautiful estalished trees and a beautiful view of acres of open land. The river was only a 2 minute walk from the camp site! The beach was private and the fish were plentiful. We have already recommended the site to a few friends and we are looking forward to coming back soon!

Perfect for a secluded getaway

Awesome site. Very private. The only sign of other people were the rare small airplane (looked like a two seater, just once during the whole stay) and maybe some off distance boat engine once on the rare occasions (though nothing within eye sight). Loved my stay. My dogs had such a great time. They're city dogs so first time off leash! Im not big into fishing, but the beach is perfect set up, and even saw some large ones swimming around! Like over two feet!

Such a beautiful and accessible property! Easy access to the Guadalupe review. Gracious and caring hosts that offer everything you need. 10/10 Will be back again for some more camping and kayaking!

Secluded and gorgeous camping area, less than 50 feet from a lovely stretch of river. Several flat areas for tents, in addition to a well made in-ground fire pit. The perfect private primitive camping site. Host was prompt and cordial.

We had an incredible stay at this campsite! The site was spacious, completely secluded, and offered a stunning view of the Guadalupe River. The easy river access and shallow rock bed areas made for the perfect water play spot for our toddler. The campsite itself was well-equipped with a great fire pit, plenty of firewood, a cooking pit, and a trash can. There were multiple options for pitching a tent, allowing us to set up comfortably. One of the highlights was the friendly horses and ponies that wandered by our campsite—it was such a special experience! Our host, James, was fantastic—kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great stay. He guided us to the site, ensured we had everything we needed, and even checked in the next morning. If you're looking for a peaceful, primitive camping experience with beautiful water access and plenty of space to relax, this is the perfect spot. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!
