This place was amazing! Bob and his beautiful wife were such wonderful hosts and so helpful. When we arrived, Bob was already there waiting to guide us through everything and make sure we felt comfortable. They made sure we had everything we needed and took the time to answer any questions we had. The campsite was so peaceful and relaxing. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great getaway. We will definitely be coming back!

The camping site is great and quite private (if you like your privacy). Bob, the owner, was quite respectful, knowledgeable, humble, quick to respond, and he even gave us a 15 gallon water when we ran out of water. He checked on us occasionally to make sure we were ok and that we had a good time. Great place to stay and go away from the city, reset, watch the starry skies, and be with nature.
At night my wife and I heard some coyotes and wild boars but none camp near our campsite but it does give you some thrill. We saw rabbits, turkeys, possums, squirrels, etc. Thankfully, we never saw any snakes even though we hiked around the property everyday and the creek. The river was nice and peaceful as well, great for fishing.

We had an excellent camping experience at Wooded Ways. Bob is very kind host, who is obviously knowledgeable and passionate about spending time outdoors.
The old, one-eyed horse was equally amenable. He stopped by for a bit after breakfast for some apples and good pats. My friend said that was the height of the weekend for him.
The property is still a work in progress (according to Bob), but the developed areas, where we stayed and the survival camp area, were very well laid out and taken care of. Excellent for “easy mode” primitive tent camping.
There some slight highway noise in the distance that’s barely noticeable in the quiet of the night, but light pollution is relatively low. All in all, the property makes for a great escape from civilization for a relatively short drive (from SA/Austin area).
We will definitely be returning in the future and even look forward to trying out a more rustic spot on the property.

Great place! Bob (the host) is awesome and helped me find my site and even showed me some knots for my tent setup. Really beautiful property. Best to have a vehicle with clearance. Solo female camper and I felt safe, so that was good!

Bob Hansler is a great host. His ranch and the camp sites are awesome. Very private and well maintained. I have been a subscriber to his YT channel for years and was very excited to finally meet him. He is the ultimate outdoor survivor and woodsman. He also hosts survival courses, and I will be going back for more tent and hammock camping. Also, for those that know Bob through YT, Huck his loyal pup is doing well and always appreciates a good snack. Thanks Bob. 10 out of 5 Stars!!

Took my 3 boys and little brother primitive camping for the first time and bobs property was perfect place. We enjoyed the trails and tried our hand at fishing. And bob will sell you a good pile of firewood for 5 dollars which is totally worth it. 10 out of 10 recommend, bob was a great host. We will definitely be making our way back!!

Amazing spot , amazing people running it. Best primitive spot we've been to. We will definitely be coming back . The river feels great the ,the fish are definitely biting . Highly recommend giving this spot a try. And their dog Huck is awesome.

I cannot recommend this site enough! The land is beautiful, the river fun, and the people even better. They were so accommodating and kind. I am avid hipcamp user and this is by far the best place I’ve stayed. Bob and his wife were amazing hosts. Our car did get stuck after a crazy rain but Bob sent a friend to our rescue, he was just as fantastic. We’ll absolutely be back!

Had a great time staying at Bob’s land. The campsite was set up wonderfully. Enjoyed hiking on and off mowed trails, along riverbanks, and canoeing in the San Antonio River. Bob was super knowledgeable about the area annd its wildlife/vegetation and even had some kayaking/fishing equipment for rent.

10 outta 5 stars! This was everything I was looking for when trying to find the right campsite. If you’re into the more wild side of camping and nature, this is the place to be. Plenty of fish to be caught, white tail deers along the land, coyotes, and even ran into a Javelina ( type of wild pig) while heading up to the river bank. With many hidden gems like a beautiful stream, amazing ridge lines and even better people who were here to guide us on or endeavors this is one for the books! Bob and his Ranch hand are great amazing people who don’t mind showing you what they’ve got as well as making it as comfortable as you would like. I will surely be out here again soon to resume my fishing and camping out here.
