Spring, Summer and Fall are the best times to come for a visit. NOW is the time to book your experience with us. Enjoy rustic camping on our 115 acres of upstate NY forest. We are just a short drive to Cooperstown, the Baseball Hall of Fame and the summer baseball camps as well as the other museums that it has to offer. Howe Caverns in Cobleskill is also about 30 minutes away as well. The property consists of a mixture of upland hardwoods (mainly Oak, Maple and Cherry) with scattered stands of Red Pine, White Spruce, Hemlock and two open fields/pastures. There are also the occasional conifers scattered about just to keep things interesting. The majority of the property is gently sloping from the South up towards the North. The is also a nice ridge on the NE corner of the property to aid in topographic diversity. One of the fields is a seven acre hay field and the other is a five acre food plot planted in clover, chicory and other grasses. This field has also been recently planted with Apples, Pear, American Plum, Red Osier Dogwood, Persimmon, Red Mulberry, Chinese Chestnut, and Hazelnuts. These are all young at this time but will start to provide diversity and wildlife interest in the coming years. Wildlife abounds here at the homestead. Whitetail Deer and Eastern Wild Turkey are very common to see. We also have a variety of small animals as well such as Red and Grey Squirrels, Raccoons, Porcupine, Opossum, Fisher etc. For the birders, we have Barred and Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks. It is also not uncommon to see Bald Eagles soaring over the fields looking for their next meal. All of the property is easily accessible via our extensive trail system. There is also another 187 acres that borders our land that also has trails that would allow hiking. We have detailed maps so that getting lost would be the least of your worries. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Our farm is just 6 miles from the village, Bovina Center. Bovina Center is close to Roxbury, Margaretville, Andes, Delhi, Stamford, and Hobart all great places to explore for galleries, bookstores, restaurants, antiques, happenings, fairs and festivals. In Bovina Center we have a destination restaurant, Brushland, a general store, Russels, a new local brewery, Bovina Farm and Fermentory. There is hiking right from our town, on Bramley Mountain that's 2,812 feet. The elevation at Meanwhile Back At The Farm is 2030 feet. We have a very nice walk right from the tent sites, on our dirt road. Its a 3 mile loop. If you want to bicycle on the dirt road, a mountain bike is recommended. Of course you are welcome to stay put! Sit, read, meditate, sleep, do yoga or other mind/body practices on our open-air yoga platform, Nandi Yoga Pavilion. It was a cinderblock extension of the cow barn. We took it down and used the foundation for the pavilion.

This land was once all pasture for grazing animals. We moved to Delaware County in November 2018 to start our family and pursue dreams of working on the land. The initial idea was to find a place we could live, garden, and raise a few animals while hosting guests and sharing the land with visitors. When we found this place on Williams Road, we loved the mix of rural and proximity to a thriving country town. We now have two kids and enjoy living in Delhi so much we hardly leave the town limits! There are wonderful restaurants, a great year-round farmers market, grocery stores, and many other services and amenities you can find listed towards the end of this guide. Our Catskill Mountain home is situated on a historic early 19th century farm site. Parts of the house might be more than 190 years old! With several additions and upgrades we think the house has lots of charm and enjoy the many modern touches. The property is overgrown pastures and a few steeper slopes with medium growth trees. After the industrial period saw this region nearly deforested, the land was granted to settlers who cleared fields and planted grass. Our immediate vicinity was knows for it’s cattle (Bovina), mostly for diary, and sheep. The agriculture in Delaware County has been on a decline since the advent of rail shipping opened New York City markets to farms in less challenging geographies. Construction of the NYC fresh water system (DEP Watershed) may have contributed to this decline, but about 60-70 years ago the majority of pastures, especially less productive parcels were abandoned to the “weed trees”. These first succession trees grew quickly in the sunny meadows and covered the hills; trees such as Ash, Hawthorn, and Norway Spruce. Fences and barns were left to return to the earth. On our property the stone walls that boarder the fields are the most stark reminder of the intensive agriculture practiced here.

Our property consists of a 230 acre retired dairy farm nestled in the beautiful Catskill mountains. This very private property features a babbling brook, wide open fields to play lawn games, horse shoes, volleyball, corn hole, kickball, and ladder ball . Games are all located in a storage container on site. You can ride bikes in the field or on the road nearby. Plenty of land to hike on or to just sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Several hiking trails within a 20 minute drive from the property. We have a small kitchen area with a gas grill and 2 separate fire pits for roasting marshmallows. General store with basic groceries, gas, and beer just a 5 minute drive from the site. The property features bathroom with a flushing toilet and a shower with hot water. This building is just a short walk from the cabin. Spring water faucet on site. Property also features a small solar system. The cabin has a queen sized bunk. Check in after 2:OO pm , before 9:00pm due to the location of the campsite Check out 12:00 pm

Weekend Trip to Bearkill Brook Campsite

In my four years and 24 nights camping with Hipcamp, this was hands down the best campsite and host experience I’ve ever had. Miss Peggy and Mr. David were incredibly warm, welcoming, and super responsive. Bearkill Creek exceeded all our expectations. The site is massive—our group had four tents and a screened canopy, yet we still had plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy a family field day. The hosts provided so many thoughtful extras, including additional tables, chairs, bikes, and games, that I realized I didn’t need to bring nearly as much as I did. Everything they provided made our stay incredibly comfortable, easy, and fun. There was a misunderstanding with one my companions regarding disposals that I could have prevented, and Miss Peggy and Mr. David handled the situation with incredible understanding, and grace. Their kindness is truly a testament to their character. We couldn’t have asked for a better campsite or lovelier hosts. Would love to camp here again!

I really could not have asked for a more perfect weekend. The House Wren had everything one could have needed and sat on top a clearing so you could get a great view of the stars. The tent itself is HUGE and the whole experience just felt so elevated, literally and figuratively haha The shower and sauna were also amazing, probably the best shower I've taken in my life - not kidding. Gets nice and hot :) Also their doggies were adorable little companions throughout the weekend, very chill little ladies. Will 100% be returning!

3 nights at Coyote Hollow Park

We had such a wonderful stay! The secluded area made it feel peaceful and private, while communication with the owners was always easy and quick. The soaking tubs were absolutely amazing and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The tent was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the experience. Breakfast was always fantastic, with plenty of options and something for everyone. We also loved the walk-in pond — seeing all the frogs, having a blue heron visit, and enjoying the chickens and ducks made the whole property feel extra special. The on-site store was another great touch and had pretty much anything you could need during your stay, which was incredibly convenient. Most of all, the owners were super friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable, and unique camping experience!

Brian’s spot was great. The tent platform makes setting up camp much easier. The compost toilet / shower / bath setup made our time in the woods just luxurious enough. Brian set us up with firewood but it also surrounds you and you’ll never be at a loss. Even when it drizzled here and there the forest canopy did a good job of keeping us dry enough. Brian and Liz were lovely and are warm / accommodating hosts!

Weekend Trip to Secluded Farm Camp with Views

We loved camping at Tanyth's site! We really appreciated the privacy and all the amenities—a composting toilet with a privacy curtain, an open-air shower, a faucet with potable water, a firepit, a table and stumps for seating, trees for hanging a drying line, and a mowed clearing that was perfect for stargazing. We also enjoyed the friendly livestock and birds nearby. The site had lovely views while still feeling cozy and nestled among the trees. This time, we were able to drive directly up to the campsite. On our previous visit, we were provided with a wheelbarrow to easily cart our things the short distance to the site. The hosts were very thorough and quick to respond. Upon arrival, their dog came over to visit us. I love dogs, but my partner isn't much of a fan. The pup was very sweet, seemed to take the hint from my partner, and didn't return. Although not listed, they provided firewood. We suggest bring some of your own to start the fire, in case their wood is damp. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed our stay!

Loved our stay here so much! The land and garden are particularly lovely - we were lucky to catch the late summer blooms, and the glamping tent was a short walk away from the parking, but Christopher helped take our luggage up for us in the ATV. There was a fully stocked camp tent (camp stove, pots, pans, utensils etc) and the tent itself was very comfortable and spacious! We particularly enjoyed the welcome committee - Pepper and Ripley (Amanda and Christopher’s very friendly dogs) made sure to greet us whenever we arrived and they got on very well with our little dog - they showed her all the best places for squirrel hunting! We didn’t use the sauna but the shower was warm! A lovely time had by all of us and the star gazing at night was spectacular! 10/10 stay!

Weekend Trip to Bisaccia Botanical Gardens

We found Mark’s place completely by accident after the stargazing event we planned our Catskills weekend around was cancelled—and it turned out to be the best change of plans. Mark’s property is beautiful and peaceful, with wildflowers, vegetable gardens, open camping areas and walking paths throughout the land. He provides firewood and kindling, plus access to a downstairs bathroom, which made camping especially comfortable. A highlight was Mark’s $5 breakfast with coffee and either a breakfast sandwich or bottomless pancakes. Our first morning he was baking fresh sourdough outside in cast iron and made our breakfast sandwiches on it—absolutely delicious. Sitting on the porch over coffee, hearing about the 12 years he’s spent creating and caring for the property, made it even more special. We loved it so much we added another night. We explored Delhi, Meredith, Andes and Bovina during the day, then came back for campfires and incredible stargazing—we could even see the Milky Way. When it got unexpectedly cold, Mark graciously accommodated us in a downstairs room for a small additional fee. Before leaving, we walked his figure-eight trails and spent a couple hours watercolor painting outside. We came to the Catskills for a stargazing event, but now we’d rather come back here. Mark is a genuinely welcoming host and this is a really special place. Don’t leave without asking about his homemade sourdough, vegetables, maple syrup and other local goods. We’ll absolutely be bac

Carolyn and Lee are so kind and generous and Carolyn teaches Yoga under pavilion every weekend. I recommend taking one of her classes it’s a great way to unplug become present and reconnect with yourself. The tent in space was amazing and comfortable. You have to go at least once.

My family and I had a great time at Coyote Hollow. It was so pretty and so much attention to detail. It was such a comfortable experience. My friend’s family rented out site 2 and no one was at site three so we had the whole place to ourselves. The fact that you could really be comfortable there for the whole weekend easily without too much prep because of the breakfast and camp store was impressive. The camp store was also so affordable. It really feels like you’re cared for. The out house is a very fancy out house- there’s running water. There’s potable water to wash dishes and fill up water bottles also at the wash house/toilet/shower. The tents are very comfortable and nice. It’s just like in the photos. You can see the stars. The chickens are also fancy and friendly.

Mark is super friendly and kind. I used a tent site- not particularly private being in a field- but the setting is gorgeous! And you can park you car right at the site to provide more privacy if you wish. Fire ring and picnic table provide along with access to full bathroom! Some evening traffic on the nearby road but quiet all night for a good nights rest. Mark offered breakfast in the morning- I wish that I could have taken part! He has quite productive gardens and a farm stand, he even picked vegs right from the garden for me. It just doesn’t get any better than that! I will def save Mark’s site as a favorite for my future annual, long distance trip. Hipcamp>hotels everytime!

Our stay was so much better than expected and expectations were pretty high to begin with based off the listing! We absolutely loved our stay and the hosts were so helpful and fast to respond. We were 3 girlfriends in a tent and I am not an avid camper. I was a little nervous, but their dogs pepper and Ripley literally GUARDED our tent night 1. I felt so safe. They escorted us everywhere too. I could not believe it. We fell in love with them. Bc of pups we were not worried about critters or bears at all. The property also has beautiful florals and berries not to mention great star gazing. It’s also great that they had firewood for us, one less thing to worry about. Also the compost toilet/ outhouse is free to use the listing says it’s a fee but it’s an outdated note! We also had zero issues with ticks too which I was honestly pretty surprised about especially this time of year! I’m recommending this place to anyone who loves camping. Delhi also was a great town to explore. There is so much to do within a 30 min radius!

What a lovely place and a lovely host family!!! Don't miss the amazing breakfast ($5pp). Beautiful land, clean air, fireplace, bathroom and shower indoors. I also really recommend the demonstrations of the water mill at Hanford Mills Museum about 10 minutes drive away, it was a really fascinating tour.
