Overall, this was a good stay. The spot is as described and was nice and private. However I would caution coming here if you have a dog with you. One dog was very aggressive towards my pup, another came over and kept barking at us, and the third wouldn’t stop trying to hump my dog. Jim was very nice and accommodating but I definitely left feeling mixed.

Jim’s land is clean and well kept. Jim greeted us friendly and even had a camp fire started for us to enjoy. If I am ever in the area again, I know where to stay.

My partner and I had a wonderful time camping for one night on Jim’s land. He was very flexible with our time of arrival, and was ready to take us up in his tractor to our campsite upon arrival. Tons of privacy, tons of firewood, beautiful walking trails, and he has the cutest dogs. Very nice man with a beautiful property — would camp again. 10/10.

Feen Valley Rock was amazing! This was my second time staying but two different sites. Both are great but I prefer this site just slightly! Love this place and will definitely recommend and be back myself.

Beautiful, quiet location and just down the path from the winery. Our spot was secluded and had trees for setting up hammocks. Jim was very helpful in getting us to the spot and back, bringing firewood, and sharing about the other spots on site! We would definitely stay here again.

Dogwood Heaven Hilltop
Camping at Jim's was great! The location was very private but easily accessible with his tractor, and we were able to get our things up easily. Close to lots of the surrounding attractions as well. Jim was very responsive and flexible- a storm rolled through the second night we were staying, and he came to pick us up earlier that day when we decided to leave. Would definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed in the Sunny Rest Skyview site, despite being the site closest to the road it was quiet and felt secluded. Jim was helpful and had firewood ready for me to use when I arrived. It was close enough to Hocking Hills that I was able to enjoy hiking and the scenery without being trapped in the tourist bustle.

We loved camping on Jim's Land. We were in the back of the property which felt secluded. Also a decent amount of flat areas for tents for larger groups. Communication was good and directions were clear. He even started a fire for when we arrived and offered to take us to get a slushy at the winery (which we declined due to it being a bit chilly out!). We were visited a few times by his dogs, who were sweet. It's a short 20 minute drive to Old Mans Cave at Hocking Hills. Would recommend a stay at Fern Valley Rock Campsite at Natures Way!

Right near everything we came to see! Jim was a great host. He said hi and let us do the rest. Free firewood and a clean spot to set up. We’ll be back in the summer to roam Jim’s trails unattired and wearing only a smile. 😊

Dogwood Heaven Hilltop
Jim’s land was very beautiful for camping. We stayed at Dogwood Heaven, and it was far from other sites, meaning privacy and great starry night skies. Jim was extremely kind and helpful - we did not have a vehicle capable of climbing the hill up to the campsite in the rain, so he carried us and our gear in his tractor, and had also cut and stacked plenty of firewood right next to our campsite. The site was fairly close to the road, so we could hear any cars that pass, but the road was very lightly trafficked, so it did not keep us awake at night. Jim is very sociable, so he may invite you to swing over to the nearby winery if you please! All around, would highly recommend to those wanting a unique, secluded getaway complete with a very accommodating host.

Excellent site! Jim had our fire going when we showed up which was great because it had been raining on and off that evening. The location is fantastic, especially with the winery at the bottom of the hill. We'll definitely be back!

Staying at Jim's property was the perfect retreat for a few days. Having the firewood included was very convenient, he even brought over some hickory which was great for some smoked potatoes and onions! His pups, Deuce and Zelly are very sweet. I was in a van and it was a great spot to pull in and park. 20 minutes from the state park and also by civilization.

Jim was a wonderfully responsive host. We were arriving late at night so we needed very specific directions and he was very helpful with providing those!
The site itself is great, peaceful and pretty secluded yet close to the road without feeling so. There was plenty of firewood left for us.
We left early next morning (it was a road trip stop) so we didn’t get to explore much but there seemed to be trails in the area and the nature was beautiful.

We recently stayed at this camping site and had a generally enjoyable time. Jim, the owner, is incredibly kind and very helpful. He even suggested and offered to take us to a nearby winery (RXR Winery), which we highly recommend if you get the chance. It was a fantastic experience and a ton of fun! We enjoyed it so much that we even went back to the winery on our own the following day.
For future campers, it’s worth noting that Jim has two dogs. Unfortunately, one of them, a pregnant dog, repeatedly attacked and came after our dogs unprovoked. Despite our dogs being friendly and ready to play, we had to pull Jim’s dog off of ours multiple times, which was quite concerning.
We were excited to have power and access to a fridge, which was convenient. However, since Jim also uses the fridge, you’ll see him now and then. He stays very close to the campsite, so it’s not as isolated as you might expect. With that being said, we believe the other sites he owns are much more private, so if you’re seeking a more secluded experience, be sure to check those out.
Additionally, the microwave had some mold in it, so it’s a good idea to check it before use.
Overall, we had a great time, but there were a few frustrations we encountered during the stay.

Fern Valley Rock is such a beautiful spot, nestled into a wood area that been well maintained in the back corner of Jim’s property. It truly was such a unique experience and we couldn’t have asked for a better host, he is reliable, helpful and not bothersome whatsoever. Everything was just perfect. (It rained too and there was no pooling on the ground anywhere near this site.) With all my heart, thank you!
