We loved this cabin! Very sweet and cozy. As the description mentions, it is off grid, so must be prepared with water and cooking supplies. Josh was responsive and accommodated our stay the day of. We liked listening to the rain on the roof and watching it through the skylight. It is conveniently located off route 2 and wasn’t too difficult to find with Josh’s description. Would recommend!

His & Hers Perspective:
We had mixed feelings about our overnight stay at this off-grid cabin.
Hers: I found the cabin clean, quiet, and cozy—a nice, rustic place for a simple escape. The setting felt peaceful and remote, and it was easy enough to find using GPS coordinates. A sign at the driveway would help future guests spot it more easily.
His: As someone who enjoys camping, I expected to feel more comfortable here, but the vibe didn’t sit right with me. The neighboring property looked cluttered, which made the entrance feel a little uneasy. The cabin reminded me of a tiny ski lodge, but overall, I felt anxious and ready to move on.
Heads-up for future guests: there’s no electricity unless you bring your own generator, so come fully prepared. This place may be ideal for those seeking a very secluded, off-grid experience—but it’s not for everyone.

Nice cabin, but I would absolutely NOT call this a "romantic" setting (to be fair, that's hipcamp's addition not the owner's). As some others have noted, the neighbors place is very close, to the extent that generator noise and voices carry easily - and it's not a nice spot, but full of trash and unfortunately puts a damper on the experience.
It's a lovely place in a lovely area, just maybe not the right spot unless you go in with an open mind regarding said neighbor.

Overall we had a good experience! The cabin itself was lovely and very well kept; our hosts were really sweet and excellent communicators. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, and if it weren’t for the surrounding area, I would totally recommend this.
Of course not the hosts fault but worth mentioning that the cabin was closer to the neighbors than we expected, which made it feel less private. The neighbor’s yard had trash scattered around and the sound of a generator was loud enough to hear from the cabin. The neighbors also had several dogs that would constantly bark whenever we stepped outside.
We really enjoyed the cabin itself, and the hosts were greater, but not ideal if you’re looking for something more quiet and secluded.

The Little Cabin in the Woods
Great little getaway. We had a good time just relaxing. Quick thing to note if you’re bringing a dog is that the neighbors had dogs in kennels within eye site of the cabin, so make sure your dogs are either well trained or leashed!

We loved our stay at the cabin! Place was clean has everything we’d expected and some more.
Nearby nature is awesome, there is a creek nearby with few deeper spot to swim. Very quiet and calm atmosphere.
Host provided clear instructions/directions and overall communication was smooth and friendly.
Definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs some off the grid time!

This is an awesome spot to get away and lose yourself in the woods. The place was super clean and well-kept, which was a big deal for us. It's really quiet and crazy dark at night, perfect for stargazing—I saw some of the best night skies ever. Just as advertised, and Josh was quick to help with a couple of small issues. Definitely recommend!

Just a quick 1 hour and 20-minute drive from downtown Seattle, this cabin is the ideal spot for a nature-filled overnight staycation. Josh's directions were easy to follow, and the cabin far exceeded my expectations, especially given the price. It's much more spacious than it appears in photos and came equipped with all the necessary appliances. The upstairs bed is incredibly comfortable, and the string lights add a magical touch. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit in the evening and the indoor one in the morning. There's also a small creek just a 10-minute walk from the cabin where we floated on tubes.
I would absolutely stay here again.

It’s a mixed bag. The cabin is well constructed, clean and in a convenient (5 minutes from HW 2) and natural (in a forest) location. Bed was quite comfortable.
However, the owner seems to have some trust issues. First you have to agree to a set of rules. Then you need to confirm them by email Next you must print & sign a waiver with these rules. When you get to the property, there are 5 signs with “Get Out”, “Private Property” and what have you. In the house, you again find these rules in a prominent place. And finally, you need to send the owner 5 pictures of how you’ve left the place behind. IMHO, that’s really over the top.
Finally, there was a bad smell in the place, maybe mouse poison or a dead mouse?

Absolutely exactly as advertised, the perfect little getaway, yet close enough to small towns for any urgent basic necessity trips. Make sure to read and understand his posting, and bring the provisions he recommends- and take note of any cautions. Wish we had more time than we did was hoping to see the scheduled meteor shower Aug12-13, but sky stayed overcast!

Great stay! It's really private and feels like you're in the middle of no where which was really nice. Cabin itself is basic, but clean and cozy. Quick little drive to park and access the river. Felt so refreshing to go in the river. Reminder: bring some sort of bug spray. The mosquitos were the worst. Really really bad.

Josh’s cabin in the woods was quaint and quiet. Don’t be deterred by the lack of electricity, bringing in your own water or outhouse. This property was comfortable for a one night stay or more. Cozy wood burning stove and plenty of privacy!

I was looking for a rustic glamping spot and this PERFECTLY fit the bill - all the fun parts of camping without having to pop a tent! I was a little nervous about finding the place, but the instructions are quite thorough and I found it no problem. The cabin is nestled amongst a ton of trees but with a big clearing to star gaze. The fire pit is the perfect size and a grate for outdoor cooking. Inside the cabin there are some twinkle lights, but they are tied to a solar panel and I wasn't sure how to change the settings on. No worry here though - we brought our own and battery packs and were set! The cabin was comfortably cool even though it was quite warm during the day. At night when it cooled off, the indoor fireplace is cozy and really warms up the space. The bed isn't very comfortable, but not unbearable. Remember to bring a headlamp or lantern for the walk to the outhouse! While outside, we heard very few cars on the road nearby and the faint rumbling of the train every once in a while. Inside the cabin it is very quiet though! We really enjoyed our time in the cabin and can't wait to come back again. It's close to many great hikes and just a generally peaceful place to spend a weekend!

We booked the little cabin on a whim on a late Saturday afternoon to get away from the rain! We planned to go camping and had the same camp-like feel with Josh’s cabin. It was beautiful and quaint, just what we were looking for. Highly recommend!

The direction to the location are incorrect, it's not pass miles marker 61. The location is difficult to find. The instructions are not very clearly written. Once you get to the location they'll have a very old combination lock which not everyone will be familiar with. Inside there is very little provided there are no lights for night time. The front step to this particular location is broken at the top and has been incorrectly repaired. And is it a very steep tilt and is very dangerous. The area is secluded and it is wooded which is nice but you can hear the vehicles from the main road. I personally would not recommend this location for families or anyone with small kids. If you want to go camping with your bros, it'd be a suitable location but there is nowhere safe to park unless you have a 4x4 vehicle.
