Unique Stay
The bunker was awesome! Such a unique place to stay in an adorable town. The bunker stayed nice and cool during the high 70s/low 80s weather we were having on the peninsula. And since there was no power or water, it really did feel like camping with a roof. We loved it.

Entirely magical 🧚 a wooded seaside escape. Cozy lofted bed. Yoga and charcuterie boards on the roof deck. Coffee and reading in the morning on the daybed. Peaceful, secluded, close enough to town to grab supplies. Grateful to have had the chance to stay here and absorb the loving energy of this cabin 🙏

Bunker trip for the win!
The bunker is a delight! This is my second time staying here and I came back for a reason. It’s a lovely, remote spot with a dash of history. It has astounding views — we saw whales, seals and bald eagles! There was definitely a mouse (or 12) in the bunker, so we left the door open during the day to air it out, but it’s not surprising given the surroundings! Highly recommend as a great getaway.

Dream house
This beautiful house was a treat to stay at with our 4 older kids for 3 nights. I slept under the stars, while the giant memory foam bed and various mattresses worked for the rest of the fam. The view of the water can't be beat. Birds everywhere. Close to town. It was nice to have a sink to clean dishes etc in (no running water but sink drains well). Outhouse was as expected a bit smelly but works well. Wished we could stay longer but staying 3 nights put us way out of our budget. Worth the splurge.

Very awesome experience staying in the bunker! We loved our time just relaxing and enjoying the lack of noise pollution. The outdoor stove was clutch, and the wood burning stove kept us cozy warm. The outhouse was clean. Saw a bald eagle fly past several times, watched the cargo boats out at sea, built a fire in the pit and watched two great sunsets from the roof. We learned the history of the place upon arrival which was really cool as well.

Rustic Glamping Retreat
The stay was cozy, quiet and secluded with unbeatable sunset views! Best sleep I’ve had in months 10/10!
Be sure to pack in plenty of water for drinking/cleaning to avoid unnecessary trips into town. I’d also recommend bringing paper towels, a lighter/matches (the stove’s igniter is not functional) and a lantern if you plan to be staying up past the sunset (the host did provide some battery operated string lights and solar powered lanterns but they were more mood lighting than an actual light source).
One last note, Fort Worden Campground is a 10min drive away and has shower facilities in case you start getting too funky.

Not clean but beautiful view
We arrived 10 min before our scheduled 6pm meeting time with L (a woman) and waited. We pulled in near a big truck and an airstream (found out later it’s empty and being remodeled) in a small parking area that would be difficult for more than two vehicles to maneuver in. Then we heard someone chopping wood somewhere on the property and at 6:05 a man came up the hill to meet us. Said he was L’s husband. The scenario was honestly pretty creepy for 3 women camping alone.
The rugs and bedsheets sheets were covered in pet hair and plant debris.
I use pit toilets regularly in my job as an outdoor educator so I’m not too squeamish about them, but this outhouse is dirty and very stinky (and it wasn’t that hot outside) and the trail down to it is overgrown. (Bring your own tools to trim back prickly plants, I guess?) And there is no light in the outhouse like one reviewer mentioned.
Most of the candles inside the bunker are used up/burnt out.
The vegetation under the picnic table is overgrown and the outdoor furniture is not well maintained- the cushions on chairs are growing their own little ecosystem.
The bunker door doesn’t close all the way and there’s a gap big enough for little critters to get in so we had to stow our food up at the car.
For $170 a night there should be clean sheets and a fully closing door.
The view is spectacular, it’s peaceful, and seeing the eagles so close is amazing, but the overall vibe is that the place has been neglected.

Snice
The view was great, the eagles were great. The host was fine (only communicated via this website and that’s ideal) For the price, we should’ve just gotten a hotel and went for a nice hike. Not a cheap getaway but still a very quaint cabin with no frills on the edge of a cliff right below an eagles nest. They do have scrabble though, and that’s a huge plus.

This was such an amazing spot: Epic views, eagles flying around, a cozy stove to keep the bunker warm, a really soft bed, and very quiet (except for eagle chatter). A totally unique experience! Highly recommend.

A very special space
The eagles - the eagles! Going in the spring and witnessing the tending to the young is something I was very moved by. Other highlights: beautiful light throughout the space (I'm a photographer, really appreciated the mirrors and windows in this space), tending the fire throughout my stay to heat and cook, the satisfaction of heating my food using nothing but firepower, light in the outhouse thanks to windows on either side and in the door (the property is tucked away and completely private, no need to huddle in the dark!), the sunset that melted across the entire sky for what felt like hours, books and games and just the right spread of dishes and cooking supplies for a simple grounded stay. Wasn't expecting cell signal (ATT), a nice treat to be so secluded but still have a little bit of access to the outside world.

We spent the weekend here, was totally worth it. The location and views were better than what the pictures promised.
We woke up to the energetic chatter calls of Bald Eagle babies from a near by nest, this was a delight during our stay!
We just hung out, played games and relaxed. Would definitely love to come back another time.

This was the coolest spot! the most amazing ocean view, very cute spooky little place, we felt like we were in a fairy tale. Since there's no water or electricity we packed a camp shower, bedding, and electric candles, and it was great! The kitchen had a good stove and oven and plenty of dishes. Would recommend for anyone with some camping experience and looking for a magical getaway:)

It was a really cool spot. We enjoyed our weekend getaway. During this time of year (winter) do not count on the stove furnace to keep you warm. I would highly recommend to bring your own pillows, bedding, and blankets (or sleeping bag) Also bring plenty of water as there is no water source.

Winter Wonderland
This is such a magical spot, I spent a few days after several inches of snow and although cold, had a great time cozying up by the fire, taking in the views and just winding down in the privacy and natural beauty the place offers.
It's definitely off grid, so pack water, lamps and additional blankets if it's cold. One good perk (if it matters to you) is there's terrific cell reception, it was great to stream a movie after a day of being out and about.
Fell in love with the place, looking forward to be back <3
