Quiet, peaceful, handy location
The site is secluded and quiet. It’s a big field, surrounded by trees, grassy, partly mowed, partly tall grass, with some little alders growing up that provide some shade. You can only drive your car to sites one and two. For the other sites, you have to park in the little parking lot, and bring your stuff to your campsite in a cart. But those “walk in” sites are perhaps even nicer than sites one and two - they are over by the far edge of the field, more secluded and cozy. A trickle of water is provided, but it’s best if you bring some with you. The biggest lack is a picnic table. There are a couple in the middle of the field, but it would be wonderful to have one of our own. I’ve really come to depend on a handy picnic table when camping. A big plus is being a very short drive from the Hurricane Ridge entrance to Olympic National Park. We’ve gone on hikes both days, and it’s easy to get an early start, because you’re so close to the trailheads.
