What a great space! It sits right next to the river with plenty of privacy and space for tents. The river had great fishing we caught some beautiful trout. There’s a bit of a hill you’ll need to haul your stuff down but we’ll totally visit again, just with a cart to bring stuff up and down. And bring bigger rods next time for the massive salmon spawning!

We needed a last minute location because of some scheduling issues, the hosts were so great about the 30 minute notice at 9:30 pm. We didn’t take in the view until the next morning and it was absolutely gorgeous.
Only downside for us, as a family with kids, was the trail down to the site. Having to make multiple trips up & down for everything we needed was very daunting. Also, the listing stated there was a toilet available but it was very difficult to find.

We couldn't reach the site before sunset as planned, and it had gotten dark by the time we reached. But Mr. Donald was really thoughtful and helped us bring all the stuff down to the campsite and set up comfortably.
The stars were amazing and we could even catch a glimpse of a few shooting stars after midnight. All of us, especially the kids, had fun exploring and playing in the river. Great place!

Had an amazing time, plenty of space + parking for our group of 15 and we were able to pitch a few on the river bed as well. Port a potty was clean and stocked with TP. The public access is adjacent to the spot as advertised, but didn’t bother us as reviews were accurate and everyone clears out by nightfall. Swimming in the river was an absolute delight, current wasn’t too strong and fun to see some fish jumping in/out of the water. There’s also ample shade at the main site with plenty of tree cover. The host gave accurate directions and our first camper was able to find it no problem. It’s an off-grid, beautiful place and we’re grateful for Don sharing his property. We will be back!

This place is spectacular! Stayed there Tuesday thru Friday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Had a few people on the beach during the day. The beach closes at dusk leaving you all alone and secluded. Donald is a gracious host who stopped by the second day to make sure everything was good. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back when in the area

We booked a trip to Star gaze, the host met us as we arrived and said we should go set up camp at a different part of his property that has a better view of the sky.
He led us over there, such a wonderful and amazing night with a great view of the sky
His river front property is beautiful and the host was super nice!

If you can find the campsite, then there is a lot of good river and land to explore, but the directions are rough at best.
The GPS and address do not take you to the property, but we flipped around until we found it. Once on the property, there are no hip camp signs or any kind of directional organization. You have to push past the no trespassing signs in hopes that you're in the right spot, and when you cant find the campsite, and are bold enough to knock on the front door of the hosts house, they use a number system instead of the names listed on the app, and it is real unclear where you should be. Other campers were in what we assumed was our spot (based on the hosts directions). If you call the number listed, they just let it ring... call again? Let it ring... it was not a good experience.
We had a nice night under the stars, but if I were to camp in the area again, I would certainly find someplace else.

Lower camp is a treasure! We highly recommend camping here. Our stay was from Tuesday thru Friday and it was quiet nearly the entire time. Lower camp is adjacent to a public access beach, but during our entire stay there were only a handful of day adventurers/fisherman. We had plenty of space for our group of 9. We set up 3 tents split between main camp and one tent down at the river's edge.
Donald was an incredibly gracious host and ensured our stay was as perfect as his land. We highly recommend staying here and we are already planning our return for next year!

Camp 2 was a perfect spot four our group of 8. It was quiet and had great access to a mellow river which was perfect for us as we had 4 small kids who loved splashing around a skipping rocks. Donald was a great host and was very responsive to all of my questions. We got a little lost on the property, but he helped us find our spot and then we were all set.
You will need to carry your gear down a small hill, so a wagon would be helpful to minimize trips. You can see the house from the site, but it didn’t feel intrusive. Overall we had a great time and would recommend it, especially if you’re traveling with little adventurers.
Thanks for sharing the little piece of serene wilderness with us.

Cannot say enough good things about Don and this land! It is absolutely gorgeous, spacious and so serene. We got a little lost coming in and Don quickly rode down and helped us get set up. He was very accommodating and chill, exactly the kind of host you want! He checked on us but left us to be fully unplugged and relaxed. You couldn’t possibly be closer to the river, and it was as peaceful as you can imagine. The public access next door didn’t bother us, but I’m sure we made enough noise of our own :) and most importantly, port a potty had obviously been cleaned just before we arrived, which was seriously appreciated. Thanks Don!! We will absolutely be back.

We had a great time at this campsite! The site was large - we fit three large tents and it could probably fit one or two more. The portapotty was very clean and convenient. Don met us at the campsite when we arrived and was very welcoming. The river is right in front of the campsite, beautiful clear water with a gorgeous view. Would definitely recommend this spot for camping and swimming!

Beautiful spot! Very quiet except for the wildlife. Love the bamboo tunnel to the primitive toilet. Only suggestion is to add to your description that it is a walk-in site, and you will need to haul all of your supplies down a decent hill (and back up to pack out).

First of all, the location by the Humptulips River is great. However, we could not see any port-a-potty or guest bathroom on site, and you have to park quite a distance to the camp site, requires a walk down a sloped gravel path. If you happen to have a lot of gear, this could be a dealbreaker. It is basically camping in someone's yard without camping facilities, albeit some distance from their house.
However, the Humptulips River really is beautiful.

I had a wonderful time with out family outing. We stayed at lower camp and had multiple families there with some coming and going through out the weekend. Donald was amazing about helping with all my updates of my reservations and continuing changes. He came to meet us the first day right away and dropped off wood in a trailer for 25 dollars which saved us a lot of time and effort haha. The weather was prefect to be in the beach although it is rocky once in the water (yes it’s cold) the kids didn’t seem to mind. There was wildlife including fish the kids had a blast discovering. I would highly recommend this location especially if you have a large group your planning a camping trip with and want a great river view/place to hang out in peace.

Hi! Great spot! Would definitely come back again! We felt safe and it was super clean. We came 4th of July weekend. It was little loud with fireworks but not outrageous. We expected that anywhere we camped. There is a semi busy road next to the spot. All my friend had ear plugs and slept through the night. Don't let any of the negative stop you from going. Its such a beautiful spot next to the next to the river.

I loved staying at Donald’s property. It’s quiet and beautiful. I had the space all to myself right by the river. I always look for remote places to camp and this spot was perfect -— far from civilization. My last morning, I woke up to deer crossing the river in the fog 😍. He was a great host, helping cart down all of my belongings. Definitely would recommend this spot!

This secluded campsite on the Humptulips River offers an escape for nature lovers and fishing enthusiasts. With a spacious site and easy river access, it's perfect for groups or individuals seeking a country getaway. Enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking, and exploring the beautiful surrounding area.
Things to Know:
- Spacious: Accommodates up to 10 campers and offers space for multiple tents and private parking.
- Fishing: Excellent spots for fishing with easy access to the river.
- River access: Enjoy swimming, exploring the riverbank, and observing wildlife (birds & frogs, we saw nor heard nothing larger).
- Beautiful scenery: Lush forest, and directly across from the campsite is a hiking trail that leads to a secluded swimming hole without vehicle access.
- Open access public road: Traffic on road from people fishing or enjoying the river early in the mornings or late in the evening.
- Noise: Nearby shooting may be a concern for pets, or those sensitive to shooting. Recommend ear plugs if needed for evening noise. The extra noise allowed for us to enjoy our music louder, knowing we wouldn't annoy neighbors.
- Open bathroom: While distanced from main campsites and fairly private, the bathroom is located outdoors and is rustic. Think wooden box, barrel and toilet seat. Pack a little shovel to add dirt between 'go's'.
We greatly enjoyed our time and will be back to fish soon! Thank you Donald.
