In the lee of the Shenandoah National Park in Rappahannock County sits 200 acre Over Jordan Farm, home of Bean Hollow Grassfed, a grazing livestock operation that raises lamb, broilers, beef and pastured pork. It was the land of the Manahoacs, a Siouan-language Native American tribe. In 1734 it was part of 3,500 land grant and in early 19h century became Caledonia Farm, a property of the Dearing family. For the last 40+ years the farm has been owned by the Dietel family. As the stewards of this land we invite you to come meander down farm lanes, watch the wild turkeys forage, and, if you are lucky, see a red fox or wild bobcat. The views are Rappahannock's finest and the Appalachian trail is within walking distance (less than two miles up the "holler'' from the farm). Though only 70 miles from Washington DC, the County does not have a single stop light and dark skies abound. Upon crossing the Jordan River you will see a restored log cabin, our farm store, and a sandy beach with a swimming pond where guests may swim and picnic. The magic of this working landscape and its natural splendor soothes the soul. EV Charger available. Another magical trip to Over The Jordan! We had a great time, brought our baby, and enjoyed the space. Can't wait to come back again this summer! This was officially summer 5 camping here and it felt so beautiful to be back and watch the sunset as we cooked dinner. Love it here!

Astounding piece of property! From the pond to swim in, to the outhouse close to the tents, to the eggs and wood provided, Over Jordan Farm is a great camping spot close to Shenandoah

Over Jordan Farm
Beautiful, Secluded Camping Spot
Beautiful camping spot close to DC. We loved being surrounded by a working farm and there are gorgeous views of the hills and mountains. Easily accessible outhouse and water spigot made everything that much better. Would come back. And definitely get the fresh eggs!!

Over Jordan Farm
Over Jordan Farm is spectacular!
I camped at Over Jordan Farm with my wife and four children (10,8,7,5) for 3 nights. It's completely private with amazing views. We hit it at just the right time to see all the newly born farm animals (calves, lambs, chicks, turkeys, piglets) and you have free reign of the entire farm to see them all up close. They have a small pond that's open for use, we didn't swim but we did fish and my kids caught 3 Large Mouth Bass. The camp site is fairly level provides a view of the entire farm and the surrounding mountains. It has a well maintained and clean outhouse and well water close by. It also has a picnic table and plenty of firewood. It's a perfect location if you are visiting the park. We made multiple trips to Shenandoah and Luray while we were there. Mike and Betsy were great hosts, very friendly and accommodating. They were always available if we needed anything. Highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity.

Such a lovely site! Great shade, plenty of space, nice outhouse/toilet, amazing views and close to Shenandoah park. Outdoor shower was a plus! Betsy was very nice and gave us a dozen of eggs from her farm! Recommend 👍🏻

We tent camped on Betsy’s farm and had an incredible time! Plenty of space at this beautiful farm. Short drive to Shenandoah. Will definitely return!
