No showers after 10 pm For meals, we have picnic tables, and you are encouraged to cook over the fire pits that accompany each site. Please practice Leave No Trace practices during your stay, as the property has raccoons and other critters who will be drawn to any food scraps that are left behind. Pets are allowed! Welcome, Travelers We’re happy to have you! Our little campground off I-81 is growing — with brand new sites ready for folks just passing through or looking to unwind for a night under the stars. You can hop right off the interstate, roll on in, and find yourself surrounded by Green Arborvitae Trees . Out here, nature does most of the talking — you might spot deer slipping through the trees, a few turkeys wandering by, or bunnies bouncing across the grass. This is a host-free, self-check-in spot, so no worries about showing up late. Come when you can — just please don’t roll in before 4 PM without a heads up. We’ve got a roomy drive-through meadow for easy parking, back-in nooks for smaller rigs, and some new cozy spots tucked away for extra privacy. We’re still expanding and adding more, so there’s always something new taking shape. We keep things simple and seasonal out here. If you’d like some farm-fresh goods, just let us know — we’ll ride up with a couple of baskets when we’re around. Offerings change with the seasons, but you might find fresh produce, homemade goods, or farm eggs when the hens are laying (they usually take a break through fall and winter here in Zone 6). If you’re looking to hang around longer, we do allow extended stays when space allows — and there’s usually a bit of farm work or odd jobs available if you’d like to trade some time for a reduced stay. From the flat land at the bottom to the top of the mountain, this is a place where you can find a spot to sit and think, draw, paint, nap, or identify over 30 medicinal plants in their natural habitats (absolutely NO harvesting of medicinals or wildflowers!). Listen to the many birds, spot the wildflowers. Some areas are accessible by wheelchair, while others are not, but all areas offer something to sustain your spirit. If you feel the need to explore the area, you are within walking distance of NotaViva Farm Brewery and Winery, 15 dirt road minutes from the new Sweet Run State Park one direction and Breaux Vineyard in the other direction. The Appalachian Trail is just over the top of the mountain and Harpers Ferry National Park is down the road and over the Shenandoah River. We might be a teeny bit biased, but we think this is area of northwest Loudoun County, VA is one of the loveliest places in the world.

We are 1 mile from the C&O canal for bicycle riding, and 1 mile from Maryland Heights hiking trail, and two miles from the Appalachian Trail. Great experience camping at Bears Den. Nice open sites in the woods just a short way from the Appalachian Trail. A couple of Privies in the area. The lodge is a short walk away. I had a great time, and I would definitely stay there again!

This site is named after the wooden table it has bear claw marks on it from one of our local black bears who visit occasionally.

Each tent site was marked with a driveway and fire ring. Lots of flat grassy spots available for tenters. We have a bigger tent and chose a site against the field - we had plenty of room. It rained pretty heavily in the night but our site was fine- no puddles or flooding. Great, clear comms from the hosts which made check in easy. Bathhouse was nice and clean (but bring your own hand towel!). There’s a little path to the river, which was magical with all the fireflies. We’ll definitely be back!

Loved this campsite!! A short walk from the car to the site, but nothing too crazy. So much tree coverage that the drizzle never hit us. The trails near by made for a great little after dinner walk too! Would definitely book again!
