Perfect for weekend or week long getaway! Bring your walking boots, mountain and or electric bike and enjoy numerous trails throughout the property abundant with wildlife. Devils Run lies along the rear of the property and the lower trail are often wet but you should be able to walk on the outer edges of the trail. We have cleared a couple of spots where you can walk all the way to Devils Run.
Kovi Bear Camp and surrounding woods are home to several bear so we suggest you keep you food and trash locked in your vehicle so Kovis' bears don't make off with your lunch or dinner. We have lots of birds, rabbits, foxes, turkey and deer. Check out the cabin security camera pics we caught of the bear, mink, and bobcats.
No tents, chairs, firewood or other accessories provided except for a 42" firepit/grill and a Port-a-potty. *Bundles of firewood available when booking, as extra.
We also rent out our 1 bedroom log cabin (Kovi Bear Cabin) as an Airbnb. Please do not venture down the driveway past the designated grassy hipcamp area to the cabin and surrounding yard, those amenities are reserved specifically for our Airbnb guests only.
We provide a Port-A-Potty on site, however, there is no electric, no potable water, and no trash bins available for our hipcamp guests. Leave no trace. You are required to pack out all of your trash and leave our campsite clean for future guests. Pets are welcome but they are not allowed to wander freely and you must clean up after them.
**NO hunting and NO motorcycles/4wheelers/side by sides allowed.** The driveway and entry into the camp area are monitored by trail cameras for security. They are not hidden and in plain site. We added pics taken from these cameras so you know where they are.

Welcome to our Hipcamp in Madison, Virginia—a quiet, scenic spot designed for those who want to slow down and enjoy the outdoors. Both sites are located in a lower field, intentionally spaced to feel like separate private retreats, giving you room to unwind while staying connected to the natural surroundings.
Each site includes a simple, thoughtfully built deck structure with a roof, offering a bit of shelter while still keeping you close to the elements. (Please note: camping gear such as tents and sleeping equipment is not provided.) There is also plenty of space if you prefer to camp directly on the ground. Solar lights provide a soft glow in the evenings, and hammock hooks are available for relaxing among the trees.
This property is also part of how we’re raising our sons, Ryker and Crew. They help maintain the sites and care for the land—learning the value of hard work, responsibility, and how to interact thoughtfully with guests. If you stay with us, you may see them around or be greeted when you arrive. Your visit helps give them real opportunities to build confidence, develop social skills, and take pride in meaningful work.
Firewood is available on-site for purchase from a local friend (cash or Venmo), making it easy to enjoy a campfire during your stay. Please note that parties or additional unregistered guests are not permitted under any circumstances. You will be immediately asked to leave and additional fines will apply.
The property is shaped by two beautiful waterways—the Robinson River and White Oak Run—which meet nearby and create a peaceful, ever-changing landscape. Fishing is allowed with a valid Virginia fishing license; you may have better luck exploring upstream or downstream, as water depth near the sites is often around 2–3 feet.
Wildlife is abundant here, making it a great place for birdwatching, photography, or simply observing nature. Hunting is not permitted, helping preserve a safe environment for the animals that call this land home.
Kayaking is best in the spring when water levels average at least 2.75 feet. During drier summer months, the river becomes shallow <1', especially near the campsites.

We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm!
Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours.
The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries.

116 acres of forrest, hills and dells. Miles of hiking trails marked and well maintained. A small pond and beautiful labyrinth. Over 50 acres of deep wilderness woods. General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things.
Camptown is our largest site. It features a large fire pit and a circular field that can accomodate 10 to 15 or more tents. You can also park smaller camper vans, teardrops, etc. in this large area. Good for parties, family reunions.
The "# person" per site listing considers adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! By the way, that labryinth entrance is behind the kiosk. It's the largest of it's kind in North America.
It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours!
Also, if you want peace and quiet we have beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running around the labryinth whooping it up. (sites 4 - 6 - 8 - 9 - 10)

Got a good site for camping Labor Day weekend. We rented Stairway, but next time will rent the other site for more privacy. Nice access to the river and a pavilion to use in case it rains. Had a nice restroom and shower. Sites are close to each other but private in between. Stairway feels out in the open if there are more campers there since they’ll have to pass by to get to the other.
Hosts were nice and got us set up pretty easy. They provide wood for x$/bundle. We had a good time and will more than likely camp here again.

Beaver Cove was fantastic! Lynda provided clear instructions on how to get to the camping area (4x4 is needed as the trail can be rather steep at places) along with making sure the location was both clean and well kept. The trail opens up to a gorgeous glade with a creek right next to it along with a fire pit and picnic table. The open area (where we camped) had neatly cut grass that provided plenty of space, along with hiking trails that were well looked after in addition. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a peaceful and secluded spot to camp under a forest canopy with running water nearby. We had a great time!

Site #4 was perfect and exactly as advertised. It was separated from the road by a lot of foliage, so it felt super private and was totally invisible outside the site itself. I doubt other campers even knew I was there. The site consisted of a super spacious clearing that would have accommodated many more people than just myself. In the clearing was a wooden table with a bench, firewood covered by a tarp, a metal trashcan, and a metal fire pit with a poker and grill. At every time of day there was always shade somewhere in the clearing. There were tall trees all around the site blocking the view in and out, which I preferred.
The site has private access to the river via a short path through another layer of foliage. River access is a private rocky beach, inaccessible by the other campsites.
The only other people I ever saw were kayakers coming down the river. Unfortunately, if the campers in other sites are noisy, you will hear them, which was sadly my experience. This site was still exceedingly private, but don’t expect it to be perfectly silent. That will depend on your neighbors.
I saw many beautiful butterflies and adorable frogs. This spot was GREAT for birdwatching! Shockingly, no mosquitoes were seen, despite it being mid-August.
Female solo-campers, I would highly recommend this site for invisibility and safety! Peaceful and serene, a perfect escape.

The name paradise on Rivers Bends isn’t an understatement, it really is a peaceful paradise. This is my second stay at site one, and both times were fantastic! Graham provided firewood at an extremely reasonable price. Fire pit and picnic table on site. And the creek is great. My dog had a great time swimming. Super close to some really awesome hikes in the national park, and great Amish market down the road. Overall would recommend staying here. I felt safe, I felt peaceful, and Graham was a great host. I will be back!

This site is INCREDIBLE!!!! So beautiful, spacious and private. The river is so idyllic and peaceful, deep enough to swim in but shallow enough to wade across. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the area, and I hope to come back again!

This place is fantastic. From the personal toilets to the wonderfully clean lake, Jud has created a beautiful camp experience for everyone. The adorable tents are roomy and clean. The goats and dogs are friendly and cute. Jud is such a great host and has so much kindness in his heart. He is more than happy to give you advice on the best things to do while visiting the area and welcomes all kind of company.
